Eh, I just can't play it because I have played it plenty of times. You can only play a game so many times. I'm actually on a Sims 3 binge right now.

LOL....I think a lot of us are on a Sims 3 bing right now.  We should start a DA Anonymous over on the Sims 3 community.  I'm MelRedux over there....come find me Posted Image

We need an Alistair DLC

No we don't.  That would honestly be the most boring DLC they could come up with.  And that's not "hating" on Alistair, his story just wouldn't be interesting at all in game form. -_-  Maybe as a book or something.

I hope this doesn't revoke my membership status or anything, but I've always agreed with that.  The only thing I could see turning into a DLC would be Alistair's tourney where he's recruited, his Joining, his first encounter with darkspawn, etc....  If they were to do that, Gregor had better damn well be there.  I wanna see that man drink.

I'm really disappointed that you're forced into playing a human commoner.  I guess we know where that origin went...

I don't mind playing as a human commoner.  I think what's gonna kill this for me is that the PC is going to be fully-voiced.  *cries*

I responded to you in the VO thread, axe, asking why we weren't married yet.  ;)  Just think, this could be you:

I don't really think this is an argument, at least I'm not considering it so. I just think it is people expressing what they think. Maybe Lady D and Sarah are arguing, but I'm just saying what annoys me. I'm complaing:P

I'm going back to console gameing. TBH I have no urge whatsoever to play it from what I've heard. And no I don't listen to speculation I just go through and read dev comments. I can honestly say that unless they release some big exciting news about it, I won't buy it.

edit: I'd correct my spelling mistakes, but honestly I don't care.

Right now, I'm disappointed, but I'm still enjoying Origins, and have lots of things I still haven't done--not to mention that I still get new dialogue on occasion. They might never make a game I like as well as I liked this one, but that doesn't take this away.

A story focusing on Duncan and Alistair as a dlc might actually be fairly interesting.  To be fair a story focusing on Flemeth and Morrigan would also be fairly interesting.  I don't think Morrigan's or Alistair's childhood/teens would be particularly interesting on their own.

This...though I'd like to find out why the revered Mother or whoever didn't want to allow him to be recruited. And I'd really really REALLY like to know the end of a sentence he speaks when talking about that.

Maybe a DLC of Duncan before the blight that also incluced recruiting of Alistair the DLC

Flemeth and Morrigan, yes.  Alistair and Duncan... eh... what is there to tell?  He was only with him for 6 months.  Killing a couple of straggler Darkspawn here or there on the way to Ostagar?

Eh, there's lot enough of people who like the combat in DA as it is. And i doubt you can get much of ideas how it should be "improved" on the same page, in the sense everyone's idea what to change is likely going to be different.

Add to that changing the combat mechanics doesn't really have much to do with game models and character appearances etc, so changing one doesn't really require messing with the other. Most of the combat-related stuff is in excel tables and scripts anyway.

What I personally feel about combat system is fairly irrelevant.  I was just referring to what was offically said in one of the interviews this morning.  They were going on about how much better combat will be in DA2.    The combat system at present is pretty lack luster compared to some of the other action rpgs (like Fable 2 for instance).

Hey, what happened to Charsen's wedding mod? Is it released yet? I want to marry Alistair lol

And I really wouldn't want to see an Alistair DLC either, because his life isn't very interesting the way Leliana/Morrigan/Zevran/Sten's has been. I can't think of an adventure they could make a DLC for.

The new setting, characters and possible lis doesn't bother as much as the direction that they're taking the game in as a whole.  I didn't like the strange DA/ME hybrid style of Awakening and Leliana's Song.  Long story short, if I wanted to play Mass Effect I would play Mass Effect.

Agreed, although it worked for me in Leliana's song, because she had a known voice, and they did let me talk to the characters. On the other hand, if all we get is DLC, I want there to be more dialogue than that.

If they give us some better CC options and stay away from making NPCs that look like Adaia (honestly wtf?) I won't mind losing the TS so much personally.  Oh and more armor options... they really cheaped out on the light armor.

Well advanced CC options are welcome but the industry isn't moving in that direction. The last game to feature a full on face generator system in game was Oblivion and the resounding feedback was that people hated it. The problem with a full option face creation system is that it's overwhelming to the vast majority of users, they won't spend more than 10 minutes in a CC before they get frustrated. The result was that they moved towards systems with 1) Presets and 2) Less options overall. Placing severe limitations on a character creator ensures that it will be harder for the average user to create a hideous monster that will adversely affect their enjoyment of the game.

Six months is a fairly long time.  Leliana's Song basically takes place over the course of a few days.  We don't know everything that happened from Alistair almost taking his vows to then being recruited into the Wardens.  Additionally Duncan is a very interesting character in himself.  There's a fair amount of possibility for an interesting dlc.

Ahh; i didn't read that but hmm, i wouldn't expect any really drastic changes in this area, no matter how much hype they're making about it. I mean, the current system isn't action rpg and it didn't prevent the game from becoming their best selling title ever, outdoing ME, KotOR and others (they stated that yesterday)  While their only so far attempt to make action rpg (Jade Empire) did pretty poorly. So with this in mind it doesn't even make financial sense to mess with the successful formula too much.

I suspect if anything, the Darkspawn Chronicles thing was their test bed for whatever changes they have planned for combat, much like Leliana's DLC was test of the fully voiced protagonist/conversation system.

Good point! I hadn't considered his joining and early days in the wardens as a DLC possibility, but that could be good!

Well it is kind of a clean slate I suppose, but given what he tells us in DAO the 6 months he was with Duncan before the game doesn't sound all that dramatic tbh.  Duncan took off on his recruiting journey by himself at some point so Alistair might not even have been with him for very long.
