Thanks for the votes of confidence, from those of you who, you know, gave votes of confidence.
There's a lot of info in the upcoming Game Informer issue, and once that's out, we can talk a lot more. It directly addresses a lot of the questions out there. I can say, "don't worry, you'll love this game," until I lose my voice. But it won't mean anything til you get the big infodump that's coming.
I'll say this to those who are all concerned about things being changed to reach a more massive audience. We already reached a massive audience with DA:O. It would be silly to make DA2 into something that the DA:O audience couldn't recognize.
That's kind of an ironic statement considering the changes that have already been made from Origins to Awakening or Leliana's Song but I digress.
I can't say I have my hopes up on this one. It really sounds like they're just trying to throw together a quick run of the mill action rpg to appease DA fans while they push their Starwars mmo. Oh well, maybe one of the dlcs before then will actually be good.
I think there should be a distinction between DLCs and a game sequel. Too many people fail to realize that these are two separate entities. Imo the DLCs are made to test audience reaction in order to better improve the sequels as well as provide more entertainment just for fun.
What he says makes perfect sense to me, especially since they mentioned in the article that everything that made DAO so popular will be enhanced. They would have to be stupid to make any drastic changes, and since after creating such an amazing game as DAO, I believe they have enough brains to create something even better. I have a feeling we won't be let down. Only those with particular expectations leave themselves open to dissapointment.
The only hope I have is that they maintain the same quality and attention to detail, character depth and story as they have in the original...and they have my vote.
Also regarding different origins and the people who are dissapointed there are none in the new game, well, I think thats why they called it Dragon age :Origins...i.e. this one focuses on and includes origins.
Otherwise they would have to call DA2 DA Origins 2...and I have a feeling that was not their plan to begin with.
(notice the Colon after DA in DA:O)
