Well it looks good, but it doesn't look *better*. It's not cell shaded, which is a plus. And if those darkspawn look like the awakened ones, so that could be cool.

@ Phaonica. And that's the reason I execute Alistair no less. Now I am being forced to play a deserter. How nice :P

A civilian refugee  is not a deserter for running from Fereldan during the Blight, honestly.

Smart lad/lass! I already like her.

Edit: In my now officially canon playthrough Alistair deserted Ferelden, too.

As
the Grey Warden from Dragon Age: Origins was fighting darkspawn, Hawke
was living in Lothering. Fans will remember that the small village was
raided and destroyed (an event that occurred off-screen in Origins), and
Hawke was one of the survivors. However, rather than stay and fight the
darkspawn menace, Hawke flees Ferelden and heads north.

Obviously, our Warden > Hawke.

This whole "most important character in the DA world" really sets my teeth on edge now that I know it's around the same time as our Wardens.  Way to lessen what our Wardens did in SAVING THE WORLD!  Thanks, Bioware!

Well, there's no way they can eliminate the significance of the Warden now, especially when the protagonist is a Fereldan deserter *rolls up and down the aisles cackling* Maybe s/he'll want to kill us? Because even playing as Hawke in DA2 I'm still the Warden, dammit. I'm still alive >:[

I kind of feel the same way, and it's why I had expected this to take place in the past.

Well, I'll wait for more information, of course, but now I'm more dubious about what's going to happen than I was before.  I guess we'll see.

Not anger, but fears and concerns to what seems to be an unimpressive sequel that seemingly doesn't really improve what was great with the first game, but rather seeks to embellish it with graphics that aren't that pretty to begin with.

When a franchise captivates us so, then being concerned is the least we can be, when being barraged by BS marketing strats that focus on what most of us didn't really care about.

Twas mostly a joke.
But the sentence "instead of fight the blight, he chose to run" kind ofhints at him being an abled man.

I don't really care eitherway.

I think a certain amount of anger and disappointment is completely understandable when you've just found out the wardens with the continuing story you were promised have just been ended. The wardens you put HOURS into customizing, decision making, rp'ing, gearing and playing with the hope of continuity between games. And that hope wasn't misplaced. They did it for ME, they told us there would be more. And now...this? I find it more interesting that people just refuse to understand why there would be anger.

Sure we have DLC still coming. Supposedly 2 years worth. But with everything we've seen since Awakening, it's pretty hard to feel confident any of it will include our wardens, let alone tie up their stories and loose ends.

DA3!  The Warden and Hawke unite to form the greatest fighting force ever known on Thedas!

Beh.  I am not gonna get over Hawke being "the most important person in the Dragon Age world" for a long, long time, if ever.  I just don't understand why they would do that.  People loved their Wardens so much, why lessen what they did and shove them into a background role for the sequel?

What continuing story of your wardens where you promised? I never saw any kind of announcement of the sorts and one of bigger topics of debate on these very same forums was whether Bioware would give us a new PC or continue or current PC's story because Bioware DID NOT promise they would continue the story of your Wardens. They said they wanted to make it so the choices in Origins have an impact but that is a different cup.

The Awakening Epilogue Slide was a strong hint that your PCs is gone forever Obviously people like to ignore that ending, but it was what Bioware made it to be.

As for continuing the story based on your choices in Origins, they can very well do that WITHOUT your PC from Origins to carry or even an import system ( KOTOR 2 hint ).

@ LD. I knew you of all people would understand why that sentence would make me...unamused.

Fantasy DA3, Arcturus comes back and beats the living hell out of Hawke and invades the Free Marches. And if Hawke was dating the OGB, marriage proposal refused!

I completely agree with that. And while I'll probably buy and play DA2, it probably won't be with the joy and enthusiasm I still play DA:O with. At this point I'm just looking at it as any other game, not a part of "my" game. I'm definitely not preodering it. And does anyone know when subscribers get their copy of GI? I never pay attention to when it shows up.

So help me, if Lya ever met Hawke and he gave her any crap about his home being destroyed, she would beat his ass so hard.  And if Hawke is dating the OGB, he's a pedo.  :x

I fully agree on this.

Also who wants to bet Revan will be the Dark Lord of the SIth in SW:TOR?

Honestly, the whole line that the PCs story is not ended forever is just a nice way to have people in the next game make a mention of your PC without actually seeing him/her.

The Sith Emperor is not Revan. Check the timelines and the start wars wikia.

And they could find a "nicer" way of sayign that without having our PCs vanish. If they were not planing on expanding on the story and if the sequel is not set in Ferelden, why make them vanish? It's just idiotic.

And I find myself agreeing with KoP once again. I knew I shouldn't have drank the cool aid...

This is what Serena would do to Hawke...

300 years after KOTOR 2. But who is to say a Sith can't live that long huh? After all the Dark Side has a strong power.

They did far worse for KOTOR 1 and 2 though....in KOTOR 1 Revan is standing there at the head of the Sith Army or as a hero of the Republic and then bam. In KOTOR 2 however, bam Revan is missing with no warning before hand and no reason save for the whole: "Revan is searching for the true Sith." thing.

Honestly the ending of Awakening meant that your PC MIGHT return or might not, there was no guarantee either way.
