For what's worth, Anora with the new shape looks like this Posted Image

Okay...this picture makes me laugh and I'm not sure why.  She looks kind of....puffy...but I'm sure it's partly because of the sleeves.  I have to admit that I like the idea of puffy Anora though.  :P  I'm a bad bad girl...

I think "puffy" is definitely the right word! Posted Image

Yeah, i think both the sleeves and that waist cincher aren't the most fortunate fashion choices... still given it's Ferelden i guess it could be furry shoulderpads, instead Posted Image

Kara is very very grateful that she is Dalish, and refuses to submit to awful Ferelden fashion!  :wizard:

Yeah, those outfits certainly are not flattering to every body type.

Is it sad that the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the new screencap of the mage for DA2 was "NO FURRY SHOULDERPADS :O"

I think my biggest problem with all the original models is that the boobs are so low! I can deal with cantalope boobs, but make them perky so they don't look like they're 60.

Actually, they're Reverse Gainaxed or something. They may be huge, but you'd have better luck moving Mt. Fuji than getting those things to bounce.

The Warden's idea of chest armor?  :P

Or ha, the Thedas evolutionary equivalent of feminine chest armor...

Yay!  Have a handsome Alistair!

I really need to start playing again so I can get a happy Alistair....I rearranged my desk and now it looks weird but hopefully the monitor is in a place where it won't set off my migraines!  Might give it a go tonight and see.

The next step for your friend is to become an Alistair fan.

Glad she picked a good origin. One of my friends tried DE and got bored halfway through the origin and it took me forever to convince her to give a different origin a try.

Did you check the refresh rate? That could be the cause of your migraines.

I'm pretty sure it's the position of the monitor - with my desk the monitor is slightly too high for my chair - I can tell in character creation and what not that the colors are a little off unless I stand up.  I think that makes me crane my neck causes muscle tension leading to the headaches.  I don't have the same problem on any other computer or TV.

I might do a comparison of refresh rates though, just to be thorough.  Thanks for the suggestion!

Good choice.  My 1st character was also a CEF.  I was skeptical of DAO at first, kept putting it down mainly because I found the combat so hard, but that origin story can't fail to impress if you can get through it.

I like the  Dalish
origin.  [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/crying.png[/smilie]

But
yeah, it's one of those that seems either hit or miss with no
inbetween.  Shame.

If you're using Window 7, read here

ETA: It's probably not from the refresh rate, but I don't have any other idea. :)

lol This laptop is 7, my desktop is Vista, and my old laptop is XP.  :wizard:  The Vista comp is the one giving me the problems, but I will save this info as I am sure it will prove useful someday! Thanks!

for the reference, here's a comparison pic to give a better idea:

Posted Image

left to right: default, the original "seductress" fixed shape and the new "sensual" one.

The breasts look just right. I'm iffy on the bigger butt, though. A more muscular body doesn't generally result in a bigger derriere, and the main reason I didn't go for the sway to the back was that it gave the impression of a bigger butt....

On another note, are the shoulders wider than in the other fix?

If you compare them closely the rear isn't actually bigger in the new one Posted Image  if anything it is less pronounced than both in the default model and the earlier fix, because character's back is more straight. It may appear bigger because the whole frame is thicker overall.

Shoulders are bit complicated -- in the bare model there isn't really any difference to avoid making the head too small in comparison, arms are thicker though. For the heavier armours the shoulders are slightly widened in addition to that, to create better impression of a strong character.

I totally get what you're saying about the heads. I've noticed a problem in not having the heads look too small in general, and I can see that could be a real problem!

It was really annoying watching her play it because she was all 'Where's that awesome bearded guy from the opening? Why did that annoying guy yell at me for not killing people? Why do I have to go in the cave? This is a really bad idea. Why are the graphics so bad?' Then she gave up before even finding Duncan again!
