I didn't see any book spoilers. I was disappointed to see that they re-cast the main female leads, Catelyn and Daenerys. I liked the actresses they had before. OTOH, who cares about the chicks.
They roughed Sean Bean up a bit for Ned. But I like older men, so he looks good. *drools*
If Sean Bean is half as good as Ned Stark as he was as Boromir...I might very well self-combust.
Is anyone surprised to find out that I am first a Legolas fan and second an Aragorn fan? No? Okay then.
Though I did once dress up as Arwen (and my "husband" was Aragorn) for a retreat!
I introduced myself (or attempted to, anyways) in elvish and everything!
NERD ALERT!

Um, DUH.
I had people saying "Arwen and Aragorn didn't have kids!" to which I responded "Yes they did, read the appendix!!!" Um, wait, did I just admit to having read the entire appendices? Why yes I did...but I still haven't gotten around to the Silmarrillion and what not so I'm not even at the tip of the ROlkein geekdom iceberg...
Why were they asking about kids? Did you bring children with you? Or am I just slow today
I've read LOTR & the Hobbit uncountable times, starting when I was about 11. (if we say every two years that brings it up to... no, not going there!)
I've never taken my Tolkein love much farther than that (screensavers, wallpaper, anyone?). I thought about learning Elvish, but I thought I should learn another usable language before I get to learn a fun one. So as soon as I learn Spanish, Elvish it is for me! lol.
We were "table parents" at this retreat - mom and dad and the retreaters are your "kids". It's kind of a way to set them up with a group that they can be close with and turn to later. People were saying that Aragorn and Arwen might not have been a great choice of theme since they apparently didn't have kids. Bah, two boys and a girl thank you! (If I remember correctly, anyways.)
lol We had an awesome table. Our sign so the group could recognize us was the White Tree (the guys cut down some branches and spray painted it white) and our box for the table had insets cut out, covered with yellow tissue paper, that GLOWED because I put battery-operated Christmas lights behind them.

I am
such an over-achiever but man it was fun.
I made most of my dress for Arwen, btw, modelled after the blood-red dress she wears like once in the movie.
This one! Mine, of course, was not so nice, but you could tell what it was at least, I hope.
