I got a thread closed because I offended some guy by saying people from Georgia (state in US, not country) are usually racist/homophobic. He didn't like the fact that I was insulting our homestate -is still seething-

*licks screen*  That pic is gorgeous.

Oh, and I updated my Dalish bloodmage-ruining-Alistair's-life-but-not-as-badly-as-Brand-did story tonight.

Yessum, Redcliffe. Speaking of which, apparently something about CRS bugs out the Redcliffe Siege something fierce. I still completed it, but for whatever reason the cutscene before hand of the Undead marching didn't play, the automatic autosave didn't trigger, the knights wouldn't light the barricade on fire, and the undead wouldn't spawn properly and charge down the hill.
I ended up having to pull them one by one. It was long. O.O
No idea how CRS would bug out Redcliffe like that, but seeing as it's the only thing I've installed recently, and it was working fine beforehand, it has to be.
Curiouser and curiouser.
And mmm, sexy Alistair.
I wonder what colour armour I should give him next...

  I never had anything like that.  In fact, I haven't had CRS bug anything except little quirks with the tent scenes that cmessaz quickly fixed.  That's weird.

I've had to pull the undead down the hill, but I NEVER have the Knights light the fire, because the last time I did, everyone died except that elf from the Inn.

Every time, I'm like 'okay, this time I won't tell Ser Perth about the oil because it's a pain in the ass to keep the knights from burning themselves to death' but then I talk to him and the idea of flaming undead sounds awesome and I can't help it.

The sound of Teagan saying "You saved everyone, yay! Here's a helm!" sounds much better to me :P

I always have the oil set on fire, but only lost a knight on my first playthrough. Since the knights follow wherever you're fighting, I just stand by the windmill during the lulls between undead. They all come back to stand with me. So we rush, kill, come back, rush, kill, come back. :D

The ones that are always a pain to keep alive are the militia, down below. It was worse before one of the patches, when an undead would get stuck in a corner somewhere and so they would keep coming forever until you found the stupid thing. Grumble.

Mages. I try to get Wynne before going to Redcliffe so that she can heal the redshirts. Or I give Morrigan healing spells and give Leliana or the Warden dual wielding so they tear through enemies quickly. But I don't play past normal, so it's a little easier then.

I haven't ever had that, either. The CRS mod doesn't change much that could break gameplay. Maybe you have a conflicting file, somewhere? The only thing I can think of that has to do with Redcliffe is a line of dialog that was added (it was supposed to be there, but it wasn't implemented, I believe). You could look for a arl100cr_alistair_origin.dlb, or a arl100cr_alistair_origin.dlg file, to make sure you don't have two of them in your overrides.

I know sometimes when you have two of the same file, it causes things to weird out. That's the technical term. :D

I know an old version of IA will bug out Redcliffe too, but the newer ones shouldn't. I don't know if you use IA, or not.

I hope it works for you, I hate having to fight Redcliffe over. It's such a pain to try and save everyone! lol.

The helm itself isn't anything too special, but saving everyone and getting the speech from Teagan :wub::wub:

You have to really keep checking the health of all the guys, and boost them up whenever they start to get low. I play on NM, but unless I have a mage (Wynne, myself or a respec'd Morrigan) I can't save them all.

Yeah, I've gone through my Override a few times now and haven't found any conflicting files. Just to be safe I pulled CRS out completely and it still didn't fix the issues after the fact; missing Chanter's Board and Mage's Collective.

Something is obviously not happy. I do run IA, but am using the latest version. All I know is that the issues started only after installing CRS, so something didn't go right in installing it seems. No love, no love.

Edit: Yeah, saving everyone is a bit of a pain, but I realized long ago I'm something of a masochist. Nightmare, a couple difficulty boosting mods, and attempting to save everyone, including Llyod, with my dual wield Warden, Alistair, Leliana, and an Entropy based Morrigan.

Fun, fun times.

Me too, I thought that deaths were scripted since I lost Murdock my first two playthroughs. It wasn't until later that I realized you could save people. Unfortunately, I can't get Lloyd to die since everyone is around to fight -sigh-

If something goes wrong, you usually have to pull your mod and then go back to a save before the error occurred. Which sucks in this case, since you would have to go back to a save before the fight began.

For instance, if you have IA, go into Redcliffe, then uninstall IA, when you go to Redcliffe a lot of people will be nude. But if you uninstall IA, go to a save before you ever entered Redcliffe, and then enter again, they should be clothed.

So you could try going back to a save before the fight, and if the fight is still strange, you could try going back to a save before you entered Redcliffe.

I'm impressed you saved everyone with no healing spells! I play on NM too, but I always need a healing spell to bolster up the militia.

It involves a lot of pausing. A LOT. And excessive use of highlight, which I bind to X; easier to keep held. Heh. But I mean, a Morrigan with mass Paralysis helps a tonne, keep in mind. I go in with CC rather than healing. Mind Blast too, as usually I go with Entropy/Spirit for her. I prefer CC to healing. Hehe.
I've actually already done Redcliffe about thrice now. I was hoping third time would be the charm after pulling CRS and going the battle. As soon as I saw the battle bug out though I had a bad feeling, but did it regardless. I was thrilled, only to find out that the Chanter's Board and Mages' Collective missing, so I'll need to try again. I'll try pulling IA this time I think.

Edit: Also. I was browsing around DA:O Nexus and stumbbled across this mod. Now for the most part I don't change Alistair's morph; I like him as he is, but I couldn't help myself drom drooling a little.

I don't know if any of you have played NWN2, but the only thing I could do was go "Bishop! *Squeels*"

Posted Image

It kind of looks like him. Won't use it, but was awefully tempting.

And that begs the question. Does anyone here actually use any Alistair morphs, or prefer him as is? ;)

I didn't think you could win the first time, too. It didn't help that the first time I got a bug with one of the undead stuck in the village. I didn't know it was a bug, I thought I was doing something wrong. All the militia was dead, along with all my companions, and but the undead kept coming.

I ran around the village for about 15 minutes with the undead chasing me, before I finally found one stupid thing stuck in a corner by the water. I thought it was some kind of test or puzzle... find all the undead in the village before they kill you!

Alistair dislikes the undead
