Or, recruit Loghain and make him kill the Archdemon but have an even more bitterly disappointed Alistair sulking somewhere.

I applaud DA:O for its lack of black/white decision options, but dang.

There is a dark lining to every ending in the game. Which actually is a nice change of pace from a lot of stories, but still makes everything much harder. I don't know how many times I've kept the conversation between Morrigan & my PC hanging in the middle, trying to decide what I was going to do. And once I let Alistair talk me out of it. That was a sad playthough, since he wasn't hardened or king, and I left him at the gates. Poor guy. I never did that again. If I'm leaving him at the gates (or using a mod to knock him out at the top) I always make him king now. Give him something to do and live for, afterwards.

Yeah. . .my Alistair in this playthrough was also neither hardened nor king. We played it like idealistic fool children right to the end. I was actually angling for the epic bittersweet ending of having a dual Archdemon fatality --both Wardens striking the killing blow at the same time. I know that simultaneous "fatality"-style kills are possible with Ogres, so I figured why not the Archdemon? Alas, I could not coordinate our weapons to strike in sync. My rogue hands were just faster than his.

Neither of my characters played out like I expected them too. It's kind of cool, really, how they took on a personality of their own. I've never been so excited to play a game from start to finish again almost immediately after completing it.

That is your greatest failing, my friend, getting the XBox version. Luckily my XBox version died (because I knocked over the XBox while playing:pinched:) so I got the PC version instead.

Dammit, I didn't know I agreed with Cullen about killing the Mages, and then Wynne wanted to kill me, so I had to kill her and my last save was at the beginning of the Mage's Tower.... My game was an unfortunate casualty of my rage. Well, maybe not that unfortunate since I got the PC version, but still lol

EDIT: My "rage" being that I deliberately reached out with my foot and tipped it over. My friends said that is the most restraint I've shown while destroying something

Apparently it didn't auto save, or I deleted it, but I was not willing to go back before the Fade. Nononono. I'm the kind of person that would prefer playing an entire game again rather than having to go back to a save that was a long way back.

And I believe it is the Maker's will that I don't have magical ability, because I get angry at inanimate objects easily. I would specialize as a Primal mage and blow stuff up that made mad (i,e. anything inanimate). lol

With Fireball probably, so I could destroy other things as well. There's a reason I'm not allowed near expensive things when I'm mad. Though ironically, I'm not the reason my laptop broke. The hard drive fried up. Though I'm sure that was it committing suicide from my repeated abuse (and also my son's, who is not allowed near expensive things either, though that is because he's one and will eat expensive stuff:lol:)

Alistair: I think they're darkspawn, carrying torches.

Mel: Huh. And that big ugly loud thing up there?

It freaks me right out, but mainly because I'm thinking , "GET AWAY FROM THE EDGE YOU FOOLS!"
I'm not scared of heights so much as I am of dropping thousands of feet to death.
Had a safety barrier been in place I'd have been fine.

The whole scene irks me.  DO YOU NOT CARE THAT THE AD IS FLYING OVER YOUR HEAD YOU DAMN FOOLS!!!
