Me too -- Alistair not being in it doesn't make me upset, although I would love for him to have been in iti, just to see (and hear!) him again.  But if they kept him and it was badly done, then I would like that much less than no Alistair at all.

I'm not ready to say yay or nay yet on the game. I just don't know enough. Some things sound promising, somet things don't. A friend from the gaming industry saw the preview at the Con last weekend, and she said the presentation they gave was great, but she supposed they were still working on character interaction since the realease date was still so far away.

So, I'll decide when I have more info. For now, I Alistair!

No, not for me. David Gaider might perform his magic again and create a new lovable well written male character?  I'm waiting to see what happens next for DA2. I won't pass Judgement yet, untill i've seen some in-depth videos on the gameplay, the setting, the toolset and story. I had mixed feelings on the PC being voiced and that has been my only concern so far.

I'm quite hoping for a lovable well-written character, who I can romance with both male & lady Hawke, without needing a mod. *fingers crossed*

Not Zevran or Leli??

Although I like the way they did it in DAO, making certain characters only romanceable by male or females.  Made them more realistic.  In fact I'm a little disappointed it sounds like they're backing off the idea of having NPCs have lines they won't cross, and they're actually going to give combat bonuses for NPC disapproval.  Seems to take away from character realism for me, but we'll see how it's actually implemented.

I was hoping we might get a reveal on the rebooted elves and dwarves today, since I saw something in the Morrigan thread about the DA2 hub being taken down today.  Whatever that means, I dunno, those guys are the geniuses.

They could still have 'yeah, you defiled the Ashes so I quit' moments without leaving just because you have low approval with them. If someone like, say, Oghren is just along because he has nothing better to do then it's one thing for him to leave but what about people like Alistair? He was a GW that believed very strongly in stopping the Blight and so stayed no matter how much he hated you...unless you spared Loghain. I think it would be like that but he'd have his own 'I hate you' combat bonus instead.

If, say, you somehow end up the leader of a rebellion in DA2 and no matter how much your party members hate you they hate whoever your're rebelling against more and/or really believe in the cause it would make sense for them to stay regardless of personal feelings so I think it really all depends on WHY the people who hate you will stay with you.

I do like having the characters stay true to themselves, and have lines they won't cross or things that really anger them. That gives them depth.

While I like Zevran & Leli, I felt like they made their characters somewhat broken in regards to sex. They both had had been used young, and later used sex itself as a weapon, and as such, whether their object was male or female was no different. Alistair's love story had it's own flaws, too.

I would actually like to see some sort of grown-up love story between the characters, a coming together of equals., with both characters sure of who they are.

I don't think I'm saying that quite right, but lunch is over and I have to get back to work! lol.

I think that there could be this potential with Anders, which is why it's frustrating that he's not an LI. He's not really damaged. He's confident and stable and pretty much only has a bee in his bonnet about the way mages are treated, but he's not militant about it. He also has a healthy attitude towards sex that seems to be just that- it's fun and he likes it. He's not a dog about it like Oghren, he hardly even flirts with Velanna and his flirtations with the female Warden are polite. If there was an LI like that in DA2, I'd be all over it.

"Don't want to be lynched."  I like Zevran or Leli, but i would of prefered Zevran not mentioning his female preferences. That just put me off him has a gay love interest. I questioned if he was just gay for pay and survive? or confused about himself?

Riiight, I totally forgot about that.
