I use FtG UI Mod and I highly suggest it.  If you actually want to play w/o subtitles at all it will make it so all the interaction outside of offical cutscenes (like the battle at Ostagar) is in full screen.  It also makes it so the Codex are much easier to read.

Even with them off, if you don't respond right away, the last thing they say will pop up at the top.

Ah, I recall that.  I thought I always had black bars, even with subtitles off, but I could be wrong.  I just wondered if there were a way to have full screen/transparent bars all the time.

I believe FtG UI Mod will do what you want.

This is FtG w/ subtitles off. This isn't the best example though. A better example would be say the HN intro where Bryce and Howe are talking.

Improved Atmosphere actually is fairly easy to install. 

1) Download Improved Atmosphere 1.3 and New Head Morphs 1.3
2) Unzip both files
3) Put both extracted folders as is into your User Name/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/packages/core/override folder.
4) Go into the New Head Morphs folder then the Party folder and then Morrigan, you'll need to chose if you want to use her original hair or the second morph.  It will default to the second morph which uses my HNF's hair from that screen shot I just posted. 

Other than that it should run fine as is.  I haven't encountered any other problems.

The armor in that ss is Cousland Silverite armor that comes with IA.  It isn't bound to the PC so, you can use it on Alistair once he joins you. 

One thing that I've really liked about IA thus far besides the fact it penciled in Cailan's eyebrows is the fact it slightly changes loot to make it more usefull.

Yeah, remove the second one or Morrigan will have the same hair as the Warden in your forum icon.  I use that hair style too and I don't like to see it on other NPCs.

No cigar folks. I'm at a loss. I can save default alistair_main now, but can't even load b2bs. My hero ejoslin is making me another b2b so I hope at least that works, then I just have to start over on my stuff.

But it broke the Dog mod I had. I had him looking like a Rottweiler, now he's back to plain brown dog *pout*

So far IA hasn't changed the faces too much. The only person with different hair I've encountered so far is Fergus's wife. One of the things that IA fixes that I really like is the eye color inconsistency. Example: Cailan is suppose to have brown eyes not blue. Cailan looked like Maric but had Rowan's eyes. It also gives Fergus Bryce's eye color. I think it matched mine to Eleanor's.

You know, I always wondered what color Rowan's eyes were. Where do we find out what color they were? And please don't say 'in TST'. XD I meant where specifically.

It's in TST.  It's in one of the scenes where Loghain is studying her.  I'll go back and see if I can find the text.  It might take me a bit though.

He could, actually.  Eye color genetics are tricky.  Eleanor is green and Bryce is blue, but we have no idea what their parents were.  If they carry one of genes for brown eyes, it can pop up in children and grandchildren.

Of course, it's entirely possible I am misremembering genetics from biology.  If I am, please ignore me.

Speaking of eye color... not that it seems to mean much in the game when it's so often screwed up but... Fiona had brown eyes so... yet another possibility for Alistair being her child.
