The thing is, all mass effrect romances are meeh and that's why Tali scores high. Because she is pretty interesting when compared to the others.

I would gladly take Alistair over Jacob and Thane. Maybe not Garrus, because he is the turian batman.  

Mass Effect games are also shorter than Dragon Age. Tali and Garrus are the only characters you can follow over two games and get to know better, which is another reason they are better done.

I really like his short stories (like the one with your quote) better than many of the novels, to be honest.

He was my favorite since ME1 (alongside Wrex).

QFT. I felt the romances in the second one were just badly written. Jacob is only the icing of the cake of fail.

Though I never get into the "kiss the bird-face" thing. Garrus as a buddy is great, just like Zevran is. But more? Not so much. Yet I have to confess- I truly loved the FemShep/Kaidan romance in the first one, really sweet and mature. Since I could only laugh AT Jacob "The priiiize" Taylor in ME 2, I'm looking forward to ma sweet reunion with Kaidan in part 3 <3

Dammit, those make me want to jump right back into a City Elf playthrough. So tempting...

Btw Ejoslin, since you're here I have a question. You know that Ostagar fix you had? When and/or how exactly does it trigger? Because I started a new playthrough earlier today and I never got any new dialogue from Alistair about the Joining. So I'm guessing I either installed the fix wrong, or I missed something really big.

Are you using my mod or cmessaz's?  Mine does not have that conversation in it by default.  Hers, you should get it first conversation you initiate with him (not the one that starts with the mage confrontation, but the one after that).

Ok, I made a point of not romancing Alistair yet, and I'm STILL not getting the dialog that says I like him and not because of his blood. I've replayed this twice now. The first time...somehow the romance triggered and I didn't get it (I got i did like you...i don't even know you), the second time...All I did was let him talk about Duncan, and Still didn't get it. I got "Like you for who you are? You're kidding right?" .

To get that line, you not only have to be NOT in a romance but you have to be at 26+.

I'm using yours. I thought the fixes cmessaz found were incorporated into yours. I... guess I was wrong? o3o; I do remember seeing an Ostagar optional file in your Nexus page (it got taken down last time I checked so I assumed it was merged with the full download) so I thought you had it covered?

No, I'm sorry. I took it down because there was a bug in my Alistair file so it was in both. Then before I could make the fix to that file, I learned about a major, all encompassing bug fix that is coming down the line and that took some of the wind out of my sails. I'll fix that, add the dialog, then get the optional file back up. I'm sorry about that

It's up! I use that version as well, actually. But both Errant_Knight and Elps convinced me it should remain an optional file and I do agree with them.
