My favorite shot of him!
A fine picture. You know what makes this even better?

This, of course

Oh, I'm kind of getting in the mood to fire Aedan back up. But if you write something, send it along or post a link or whatever.LadyDamodred wrote...
You still need a pep talk, addai?
What?? How did that happen? The business-like "something you need, my dear" is when you hit Adore and above, if I recall correctly, and you definitely should have gotten the rose by now. Strange.Lady Jess wrote...
Ok I'm about to toss this romance out the window. How did he go from adore "your desire is my command" which is oh soyummy, to love "Something you need my dear?" like...I'm his arranged bannorn wife? NO! And he will NOT give me the rose, I've saved/reloaded til my eyes bled. Pshh, I'm ok to swoop, and ok to caboodle, but not worthy of sexy "your desire is my command" or roses I see. I blame Morrigan.

Right now DEF is at Howe's trying to rescue Eyelashes so she can marry Alistair off to her. That's about as much tragedy as I can handle. In fact, I might not be able to do it this time around. Better the faceless Bimbo Bannorn than having to hear Anora purr about her lucky betrothed.
She's being cynical, but it still cuts my Dalish warden to the heart that Anora gets to joke about such things when she (DEF) will never have that.Juneya wrote...
...She brags?I guess I was too busy skipping her dialogue the times I've done that match to even catch that. (I really can't stand her voice...)

I just got the big -5 frowny face from Ali for setting up the marriage to Anora. This is so hard. It wasn't this hard on the last time I did this. I blame this thread! I have an itchy reload finger now. I want to go and take it all back. *sob*

This actually happened to me once, but I hadn't initiated a romance until after I had Alistair hardened with Goldanna, which was long after Lothering. I'm guessing that if you wait too long to start the romance that he will just not give you the rose, though I could be wrong.
I'm torn about what to do. It's a big disadvantage, in a way, to know so much about the game. You start to micromanage rather than letting roleplay take charge.Sandtigress wrote...
When I originally did my Dalish, I tried to marry them off, but then Alistair killed Loghain, so Anora wouldn't marry him.
On her second run-through, when I gave the RP more thought, I decided that she wouldn't know enough about Ferelden/human politics to realize that political marriages would be advantageous, so I didn't have to try to get them to marry! That made me a lot happier, as did hardening Alistair (Dalish was my first playthrough and I'd never heard of such a thing.)

I think I'm going to pack Anora off to the tower this time. Let DEF and Ali arrange a political marriage later, under less pressure. Anyway I like the Landsmeet scenario where Anora throws you under the bus because you didn't pledge her your support.

You're not going to get the rose until Lothering is destroyed. I've had Alistair at 100 percent love (he asked me to the tent), completely romanced, exhausted all pre-Landsmeet dialogue with him... and I got the rose last. That talk won't be triggered until you've finished a main quest.
ETA: Gah, and I've done this several times. Sometimes I'll ask him to the tent and hold off on the Goldanna thing, I've gone through and half-assed all the main pre-Landsmeet quests aside from the Mages Tower one (did probably 75% of each quest but didn't actually finish any of them), romanced slowly, metagamed and romanced him within half an hour of leaving Lothering... apparently it's one of the things not glitched on the 360.
Just make Anora sole ruler. You probably don't want to harden Alistair, either. He'll still accept you putting Anora on the throne when hardened, but depending on your dialogue choices, he will tell you pretty strongly that he wants to be king and thinks that Anora is not an option.Lady Jess wrote...
OMG I'll never make him do that again. My City Elf will be Zevs gal, but how do I get Ali to go warden with me? I bet I can't have both can I?

You should be able to. Just make Anora Queen and befriend Ali. The three of you should be able to ride off into the Warden-y sunset like a happy family no problem.
Oh, I didn't know this! I do try to pace the romance out a bit now.Valentia X wrote...
