BTW cmessaz, your Warden is very pretty. I always wonder how people roleplay facial tattoos for non-Dalish characters?

On my current PCs the only ones that have tattoos apart from those of elven descent are both Dwarven origins. Commoner for obvious reasons, but the Noble... I like to RP it like on top of being condemned to the Deep Roads she was branded as well. That one particular PC is going to lead a very tragic life afterward, which is really sad because she's the sweet and kindly type. :(

I've yet to make a character from the human line that can justify having a tattoo, but if I ever do it will most likely be as Mel says--a form of rebellion.

LMAO I just got done doing that very thing with Ser Landry. Umm lets go the other way, I ain't strong enough to fight him yet (or my persuade ain't high enough). Stupid bastard.

It's like the Loghain duel, even if you're at a low level you'll beat him eventually if you have enough potions on you.  I had DEF tell him to p*ss off because I was curious what would happen.  You get a random event later where he calls you a villain and his posse attacks you.

Alistair gets the best battle lines hands down.  I'm always hearing new ones, too.  Last night when we went to fight Cauthrien he said, "We're not alone.  We're really not alone."   I had to LOL, it was so appropriate to the moment and  I had never heard that one before.

That skank Cauthrien nearly killed him in that fight.  I think he was glitched in a wall and not able to fight back, while I was busy summoning my wolf and getting Morrigan's blood magic up.  Caught him in the nick of time to get a potion in him.  I was going to do a naked shot, but Cauthrien doesn't deserve it.

Why isn't the Ivory Tower appearing in the vendor like the modder said it should? I might go for the inventory version instead if I can't get this to work. And if that doesn't work either I will be a sad panda. It's such a lovely armor set... :crying:

Of course, I went the opposite direction of most first timers, by making Anora queen and doing the ritual (I was a Cousland, too). I honestly feel like I missed out because, by the time I got around to doing a heartbreaking ending, I was completely spoiled.

That's what I did, but I it was mainly because he was such a wimp in the Landsmeet when unhardened that I felt I had no choice but to make Anora queen.  I had intended to make him king, and just assumed the relationship would be over because I knew an elf couldn't be queen.  I hated so much seeing him forswear the throne for himself and his heirs that I determined not to do that again.  Spoilering ensued.

Harper Cousland was just bound and determined to make everyone happy by doing what they wanted. Anora? Happy. Alistair? Happy. Morrigan? Happy. Harper? Happy. It all worked out pretty well, as long as you weren't living in the Alienage a few years down the line...Posted Image

I thought it was going to be a happy ending- my city elf n' Alistair sittin in a tree and all that.  But somehow it felt flat.  Despite my wringing of hands over having to marry him to Anora, doing that and remaining his mistress with DEF was much more satisfying when I first played this character.

In fact, I think I am going to have to do it again.  I was about decided to hold out for Bimbo Bannorn, but honestly I think my DEF would be thinking at this point that if things go badly at the LM, the deal might save their lives.  Well, Alistair's life, if not her own- Loghain might demand his pound of Warden flesh, but if Anora needs a Theirin to secure her throne that could mean the difference between life and death for Ali.

The good thing about marrying him to Anora is that you can sort of pull a fast one on her. She thinks she's winning in this deal- she gets to stay queen, she gets another Theirin boy she can steamroll, and, while the Warden is an issue now, she probably figures that it won't last that long. In the end, though, she basically gets to be queen but with a husband who doesn't let her run the show and who is still madly in love and pretty openly affectionate with his mistress.

@KoP Yeah, that scene made me giggle last night. It's awesome if it's two ladies kissing.

@Cmessaz I have IA too and I haven't seen that robe or the Awakening Alistair armor yet. Did I miss something? I've only done Solider's Peak & defended Redcliff Village so far thou.

I have a bad habit of leaving my team in a dungeon while I'm posting on here or chatting with someone.  Alistair has saved my butt a few times by saying that line when a random minion comes wandering into our otherwise cleared room.  :P

Thanks Alistair!  :wub::wub:

Yes, that is exactly the calculation that DEF made last time.  Anora thinks she's getting a doormat, but she's got a shock coming.  And yes, Anora does assume, in her vast self-confidence, that she is going to get you out of the way by hook or crook.

The part about setting this up that makes me want to slap her (ok, there's more than one part but this is the worst) is when she tells you that the marriage between Cailan and her started out political but developed into more, and asks if that won't bother you. Obviously she's trying to insinuate that she's going to bat her eyelashes, Alistair will fall in love with her, and the Warden will be iced out.  *grr*

And then, after enduring that, you have to go face Alistair sad-eyes.   Or more like, Alistair disgusted-eyes.  It really sucks to be the Warden.

The thing that will make me persevere is that Chani image.  Ah, so inspiring.  LOL

Awww *wants to offer Alistair cheese*

Another benefit of Alistair/Anora is that it really is better for the country. So not only do you have a queen who willingly enters into the arrangement, and who also seems resistent to procreating with anyone, you have a better overall climate.

The biggest downside is, of course, Anora. And Alistair Sadface.

PS. I am seriously starting to dig IA Alistair.

:crying::crying::crying:

You got to hand it to Anora, though; she knows exactly which buttons to push. I haven't seen that line for myself in-game (political marriage evolving into something more) but damn... really lays the pressure on, doesn't it?

And this is off-topic, but I was wondering if anyone knew how to disable those yellow ring things that appear underneath your character? Would make for better screenshots.

Yes, I know I know.  Posted Image  I'll just keep on with my RP consideration that it might save Alistair's life.  DEF can endure a lot of indignity if it means he's safe.  And with Morrigan's baby deal, Ali gets to return the favor.

When I romance Alistair, I never make him king without myself being queen. Or if I do make him king, he does the US. The thought of him being king and having babies with someone else, really really irks me (especially if its Anora!).

I see the whole mistress thing as never working out in the end. Maybe it does for a time, but there is no way the two of you are staying together forever when he's married to someone else. Therefore, he can have no other lovah but me!

Oh yes she does.  She throws everything at you- sympathy ploy about Cailan's supposed philandering and his recent death, the promise of catfights to come, even sucking up to you if you tell her you don't think you're that important.  She is good, you have to give her that.

Circles Be Gone mod.  I like it.  Got it at DA Nexus.

I've yet to put Alistair on the throne coupled with Anora or as a solo ruler. I just can't stomach the whole mistress thing. He either becomes King w/ me as Queen or we're Wardens together.

I actually couldn't keep my Anora/Alistair/PC ending, so the fact that you did means you're way ahead of me. I got to thinking about future prospects and couldn't bear the idea of my PC having to deal with Anora for the rest of her life.

Also: sadface!

It does, though, if you go by the epilogue.  I think we've already discussed this upthread, but I found my mistress epilogue to be more romantic than the queen one.  For princess consort, Alistair goes away and hopes to be back at your side.  For mistress Warden, he comes to join you and never leaves your side.  Awakening pretty much follows in this vein.  But yes, to do it this way your PC has to be a bit "hardened," too, and not only Alistair.

There's absolutely no way to kill Anora is there? There should be damnit. I think the PC + Eamon would be able to convince a hardened Alistair to axe that skank.

That's not what is implied by Awakening. Since I believe that Alistair is going to be heirless no matter what (except for demon baby), if he's an active part of the future storyline, he might not ever get married.

But if he comes to join you, and never elaves your side...what happens to him being King?  Who's ruling?  He abandons everything you worked for to put him on the throne?

I was a little grumbly about my mistress ending. I didn't marry him off to Anora and made myself Chancellor, which meant I basically got to rule, but there was this 'at least for a time' line that made me grouchy.
