I've killed Isolde once and Connor once just to see the reaction though.
I've come around to see killing Isolde as a viable "good" play option. Putting everyone, including the innocent villagers, at further risk from the demon so that you don't have to make a terrible decision is the easy thing to do, but not the good one.
I think Alistair's reaction is largely an emotional one. You even get an option- with high Cunning, I believe- to call him on this fact. Something like "So this is about you and him (Eamon), and not me?" He is insecure about what Eamon thinks of him. Eamon himself is more reasonable than Alistair here, telling you that you did what you had to do and that it could have been worse otherwise. Of course, you can also talk Alistair down a bit with a Persuade. You still get an approval hit, but he apologizes and tells you that he's just saddened by all the death.
