Actually I thought all the LI's in the game were kind of...not my type physically. Then as I got to get to know them better they wormed their way into my heart. Now I can't imagine playing the game without any of them.

Same for me.  If I had to pick one NPC who matches my ideal physical type, it would be Riordan.  Older guy, dark hair, and that smoky voice doesn't hurt.  Of the romanceable ones, Alistair is definitely more my type, but I love Zevran to pieces so his physical appearance grew on me.  It's that way IRL too, at least for me- if a guy intrigues me intellectually/emotionally, he turns me on regardless of physical appearance.

Nah, I bet a lot of us are the same way!  I know I am!

Definitely NOT TMI.  QFT in fact.

I found as I got to know some NPCs in the game the more I got to know them the more attractive they seemed to me (except Teagan I fell really hard for him at that first cutscene right after Flemeth rescues you and Al from the Tower).  Most telling for me were Alistair (who I thought was goofy looking at first) and Nathaniel (All I could see was RENDON not Nate).  Both with the force of the writing really got to my heart and are my favorite companions from both games.

Nathaniel is the closest to my preferred physical type, but Ali kind of reminds me of a guy I dated in college...he definitely wouldn't be so squee-worthy without Steve Valentine's voice though.

Teagan actually appeals more to me physically. How nice that I can combine that with an appreciation for the BannHammer AI's "personality" as well. Its win-win

Yup. As far as these things go IRL I am fairly asexual and don't have any interest in relationships. I never really think about things in sexual terms, if I think a person is good looking it's more of an aesthetics than libido thing. So really, none of the characters are "my type" and I went into the game not thinking too much except an interest in being able to have a gay character since it's not an option in many games. Of course, that didn't work out the way I planned it since I'm still strangely a romantic at heart when it doesn't involve myself :P

Speaking of odd-looking, did anyone else find Zevran kind of odd-looking in game? I'm not trying to start a Zev Bash-Fest here, I really liked his character a lot. But he just looked...off to me.

Well...I do find his mouth/lips a little 'off' for the rest of his face. And does he have eyelashes? I'd swear he doesn't.

Yes!  Exactly!

And as far as my ideal LI?  Nathaniel's looks with Alistair's personality.  I have a thing for black hair....Posted Image

That's how I am, too. Give me a kind-hearted, smart and/or snarky guy and I don't care what he looks like. This is good, because neither Alistair or Zevran appealed to me that much appearance-wise but their personalities are wonderful. Anders is more the sort of guy I'd go for, he's not quite as much of a bona fide Handsome Man as Alistair (and I dig that he's a cad with a heart of of gold). Nate's appeal is all cerebral; I think he's a bit odd looking but I like the pale with dark-hair thing he has going.

The Chasind robes on Ali make me squee a bit:

Brand was going to avoid Alistair this time around, but she's already giving in to The Helmet. Look at Alistair's little grin, he is well aware of the power it holds over her:

Yep.  Voices seem to do it for me more than anything else...  All the real guys are good looking but can they do good looking AND nerdy?  That's the clincher.  How about Chris Pine?

I can't picture anyone out there playing Alistair in a movie.  Can anyone really live up to this?:

No, I think not.

And BTW...good call on Emily Blunt as Morrigan.  THAT I can see.

You've just made my day!  I've downloaded this picture, marvellous

LOL  So true.

As for certain things being "off" about the NPCs' appearance, I am all for that.  It makes me think they're more like real people than pixel idealizations.  I don't think there's been a PC I've had where I wouldn't have changed something about their appearance if I had the toolset, but I'm glad I don't.  I take them as they are and the NPCs too.

YES!  I gave Morrigan and Leliana the face morphs from the Trailer and think they look better (less cartoony for me).  I wouldn't consider it for the vast majority of NPCs in the game.  Someone even posted a Teagan mod picture on the forums and while more physically perfect it totally left me cold, its the little quirks in his face that I find most endearing in his appearance.

I don't mind imperfections, but Zev just looks weird sometimes. And I swear that Leliana is cross-eyed.

Maybe she's just wondering why his nipple appears to be migrating towards his armpit?

Guys! This thread seems to be losing some steam. Let's get on that! More Alistair in the horn helmet, please!

I can but it is a hastle. *sighs* I'm on it! I need to show Alistair's 2 handed sword sexiness.

I'll have to remember to take his helmet off. But this deathblow makes me super thorny.

I don't have a horn helmet! But I have Alistair, and the icy glare of doom as Morrigan dares LOOK at MY Templar.

Lady Jess is better at eyes than me. You make your pc in the toolset?
Alistair and my pc. Again, helmet thing kinda sucks, but Alistair is still hot!

Lady Jess your warden is really pretty in that screenshot. Alistair's facial expression in that shot always makes me lol, it's like he's looking for cloud shapes or something.

Yeah, I hated the toolset at first, but now I'll spend hours making a character's face in there. Well, less now since I have a few basic structures I already like...so I just change hair/eyes/tattoo etc.

There's always the no helmet hack mod but it always stops my character portraits to stop being updated. :pinched:

I make any shapeshifting mage in the regular char generator, because if you use the shapeshifting mods and have a morph on your pc, funky sh*t happens.

"Squirrel!"

and Thanks, her eyeliner bugs me, but she's a little emo. This is the first mage I've played that didn't go goody goody at the tower. She all "they threw me to the wolves, put me on a leash, and THEN crucified me for helping my unjustly accused FRIEND..." ok, well he WAS a blood mage but still.

Same here. Spend waaay more time than necessary making a morph and then all my subsequent characters have the same head with minor variations :pinched:
