@ejoslin: I would love the Fergus fix, but do not see the optional file. I am just dumb?

Oh, so Loghain comments weren't completely ruled out? That's good to hear. Hmm... RtO with Loghain and Wynne... now there's an interesting thought.sami jo wrote...
There is some amazingly snarky party banter involving Loghain, much of it in RtO, but some elsewhere. If you travel with him, your companions will make it quite clear to him that they are not amused by his presence.
I watched it on UTube. I can't stand Loghain, I can barely tolerate his cutscenes (and usually just esc out of them after the 20th time of seeing him) Except that first one with Teagan. That one is my favorite in the game. So UTube to the rescue to satisfy my curiosity...
*Edit* and though I really hate how he is killed (in front of Anora) I can't NOT watch it. As much as I hate the NPC I almost feel I owe the character to watch as Alistair (Usually have Ali duel him) kills him.

It's very interesting with the two of them. Zevran also has a banter with him there that makes me snicker. There are comments from Lelianna as well, but I don't think they happen in RtO and there are some really touching banters with dog. I'm not a huge Loghain fan, but I certainly disliked him less after travelling with him.

Cailan is 9 years old at the time Maric and Fiona get together so although David Gaider has not said, definitively, that Alistairs origin is the same as the babe in The Calling, the time span is right. Another clue is in the fact that Duncan promises Maric that he will watch over the baby. Getting Alistair away from the templars before he can become hooked on lyrium then keeping him out of immediate danger on the frontlines at Ostagar is in keeping with a man honoring his promise to protect Maric's offspring. Another clue is in Alistair's affinity for the arcane - this would be completely in character for the son of a mage.
David Gaider cannot confirm that Fiona is Alistair's mother if this is planned to be revealed to Alistair later in the game so I guess we just have to either believe he is, or wait for an expansion of the story.
Cailan is actually 5 years old. There was a missprint in some of the early prints of The Calling. Here's a(n accurate) timeline (tentatively written off by DG)
9:00 - Start of the Dragon Age
9:02 - Death of Meghren
9:03 - Maric Crowned King (Age 24)
9:05 - Cailan Born
9:08 - Queen Rowan Dies
9:10 - The Calling (Cailan age 5, Maric age 31)
9:20 - Connor Born
9:25 - Maric Dissapears (Age 46), Cailan takes throne (Age 20)
9:30 - Modern Dragon Age Game
that leaves Alistair being born between 9:05 and 9:08 if we go by the story given to us in the game. If we believe that the baby at the end of the Calling is Alistair, then he was born in 9:10 or 9:11.
In the other thread, Gaider said: "I'm gun-shy of confirming any timeline at this point, and I don't have my notes from the novel on hand -- but at a glance this doesn't look too far off."

Yeah. *is all bummed out that* I have the feeling it'll never be revealed in a game. So it's up to fanfic to fill that need.

It's only up at DANexus. Click on the "files" tab. Second row is "Updates." First file there is called Fergus_post_coronation. You just need to extract the files into your /override folder. This part of the mod is standalone -- you don't need the rest of the mod for it to work (that's not true with ALL the modules mind you, just that one).

Wow. I am not nearly as awake as I thought I was. -.- Whew. Thank you very much. *downloads and runs off to load her post-coronation save*

Hence why "(n accurate)" was included in parenthases as well as "(tentatively written off by DG)" meaning he had not 100% confirmed it, but he had said it looks fairly accurate. Also that's why I included the full thread for context and exact quotations.

*nods* Yup, I know. I was adding it directly to that b/c I know people won't always go and read the other thread, even though it would take like 2 minutes of their time. Not trying to dismiss/one-up you in anyway.
My bad, tone is hard to get sometimes on forums. Stupid intrawebz, always making it difficult to know who's backing you up and who's tearing you down.
My appologies, and thanks.

Loghain, Wynne, and Dog... Ostagar team! 8D Only if I wasn't playing a Human Noble, though. I doubt I'd be able to witness the scene firsthand (just can't stand the thought of the ass taking Alistair's place in my team) so I'll probably just watch it on YouTube. Or maybe save it for another playthrough; we'll see.sami jo wrote...

So, believe me, if I ever seem to repeat what you're saying, or seem particularly patronizing, it's not directed at you.

The dog banters aren't tied to RtO, but I think Zev's banter is. It's worth hearing, even if only on youtube.

The entire post-coronation has a bit of a clipped and glib feel to me. I really don't think that people who lived and fought together for something like a year would just slap each other on the back and go their separate ways. I've never been in war myself (thank God), but I guess I see it more as Band of Brothers than graduating from high school. Also, I gather from what others say that the stinker with the Alistair-sacrifice ending is the comparison to how he is looked at versus if your PC does the sacrifice. I'm sure the devs had to do this or else people would complain about their PC not having his or her arse sufficiently kissed by all and sundry.M-Taylor wrote...
Anyway, turned into a mild wall of text, but it's something to think about. When other party members die off, they don't get mentioned, so why should Alistair?
