Yeah, I don't get it either. I find him amusing but definitely a creep. It is hilarious when he runs away from you, though.
How do you get this? When I talked to him in the Mage origin he just mentioned that he was assigned to kill me if I sucked and then I was forced to say I was sorry for distracting him. Were you supposed to choose the 'would you really have killed me' option or something?
If you play a female mage there's a line that I cannot recall right now, but it's basically propositioning him. He gets really flustered and runs away from you.
I did play as an EMF and I heard that there was but I somehow missed the right dialogue option to get it. Does anyone remember what you were supposed to say to lead into him implying he liked you? Because honestly, if it hadn't been for the gossip and the metagaming the conversation I had with him would have just made me think he was painfully shy.
Cullen: Oh, um, h-hello. I... uh, am glad to see your Harrowing went smoothly.
PC: Hello, Cullen.
Cullen: Th-they picked me as the templar to strike the killing blow if...if you became an abomination. I-It's nothing personal; I swear! I... uh, I'm just glad you're all right. You know.
PC: Would you really have struck me down?
Cullen: I would've felt terrible about it.... But... but I serve the Chantry and the Maker, and I will do as I am commanded.
PC: Maybe we could go elsewhere and... continue our discussion?
Cullen: Elsewhere? What do you mean?
PC: We should get to know each other OR I've seen the way you look at me...
Cullen: Oh, my goodness. If you're saying... what I think... that would be really... inappropriate and.... I couldn't. I-I should go.
