I've backed off a little on my Eamon hate.  I'm sorta in a middle ground right now.  There's just not enough context for me to accurately judge his actions.  The dichotomy between some of the things he does is baffling.

In that case then just focus more on Eamon being old and conservative. He himself wasn't really part of the rebellion but his older sister was a huge part and the heart of it was the Theirin bloodline. He just doesn't want to lose that and if Alistair's the only one left then so be it. Not to mention his minor snobbery concerning Anora's status as new nobility although that's not the worst flaw in the world.

That leads him to treat Alistair like a child still, when the PC realizes that if he's pushed, Alistair can and is quite the man and a very good king.

If you talk to him at one of his estate's (I don't remember which) about the idea of Alistair being King and you say that he'd make a terrible one and Alistair agrees, he seems quite certain that Alistair will do better than he thinks and tells you not to underestimate him.

In the thrall of my Eamon hate, I pondered taking away my fic dealing with him, but then thought better of it.  I can make his actions work in my head, it just kinda irritates me that it's not more clear in the game.

Yeah. I can understand his actions if I think about them a certain way, but then I am overcome with the emotional side that is all "OH HALE NAW, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU :crying:" about it.

One of the reasons I sort of went from hating Eamon to being undecided. I had a tendancy to just skip through a lot of dialogue in this game and not try anything new. This last playthrough I found out a lot more that I didn't know before.

But if he expects you to back Alistair as candidate for king, would he tell you anything different, even if he believed differently?

He always tells Teagan "If there was another way, but there's not" implying he would never ordinarily push Alistair towards the throne.

Alistair:  I suspect you'll have plenty of opportunity to do that as queen, as my advisor at he very least.


If I remember correctly I don't think he's upset by the idea, I think he chuckles a bit.  But it's been a while since I've done it.

I'd like to think at least one of my characters chewed him out for it.  Ironically, it probably be my tough as nails city elf.  She might be stone cold, but you don't do that to a kid.

Why do you think it's weird?  Elf mage is going to be chancellor, I think.  Although going off to rebuild the Wardens gets you the most romantic epilogue.  Choices, choices.

No it's weird if you are queen. I always do it the few times I go with mistress.

I like that ending but I won't use that playthrough if i'm going to be playing Awakenings.  I got to get my Alistair fix in Awakenings too lmao
