Sounds like you think the same as me serissia. Sten rarely leaves camp. As far as Oghren in Awakening, I hate that they killed off your tank, so unless you are a tank you have to keep Oghren with you in your party until you get someone better. I thought some of Oghren's jokes were funny, but he is definately not the character I would have chosen to return to Awakening.

Yeah announce her to Cauthrien twice, then Anora will stab you in the back. I did it with Zev and Morrigan. Anora runs to Eamon and says: I think I did something horrible
Zevran" What you have second thoughts after throwing your savior to the wolves"
Or
Morrigan:"Barely met her and she already betrayed us. Her and my mother would get along famously."
I won't ruin Alistairs for those who haven't done it yet.

Oh oh I got to try this now lol.  I've always just surrendered lmao.  I know I can defeat Cauthrien cause i've done it once, it's just easier to surrender lmao

Oh she kicks my butt to next thursday unles I cheat. But it's cool because watching ppl come rescue you is fun. I love Sten and Alistair. Sten: Pashera. There is not point to this. Alistair:So much for being subtle.

Yeah I know. The Sten thing gets me too. What he puts me in charge and then lets Sten murderize me?

My Sten's job is very important, he has to stay at camp and play fetch w/ the dog.

I've always felt that Alistair/Loghain are really the secondary characters to the PC.  I never spare Loghain but he has just as rich a character background as Alistair if not more.

In Awakening Oghren is that seemingly that secondary character and I can't bring myself to care about him.  Drunks runing away from their family obligations aren't endearing to me.

EXACTLY. I kept him in my party but after a time I just started to dislike him more and more. His comments were a thousand times more disgusting and over the top than they were in Origins too. I just left him in the keep after that. I can tell him to buzz off, right? That is, if I ever play Awakening again anyway.

Some of his jokes are funny some are kind of juvenile and not in a good way.  I found him less endearing in Awakening than Origin too.  The whole thing w/ Felsi just rubbed me the wrong way.  I don't know how old Oghren is but I'm guessing he's at least 40+ by Awakening and becoming a Warden is just going to bring him an even earlier death.  The whole bailing on his wife/kid to become a Warden is... distasteful.  I kept him w/ me because I felt obligated to as I felt his was the secondary character in Awakening.

Anders and Nathaniel make up for it though thankfully.  I liked Justice too but I got him so late in the game that I think I missed a lot of his dialogue; same thing w/ Sigrun.  I just couldn't warm up to Velanna and her rail aganist humanity angst.

I miss a lot of dialogue w/ the new systems and the bugs.  I know this time around I'll have to do the thing where I pick up Sigrun early on and just leave to do her side quest.  I missed both Sigrun and Velanna's side quests.  I had one of Velanna's plot items bug and give her +1 approval w/ no cutscene.  I was rly hoping that they'd have an Awakening patch by now.

Bleh, it's 4AM... I should sleep.

The last time I played through I got Sigrun earlier, but still didn't manage to get her to friendly. Vanora (or whatever her name is) just isn't interesting to me. Hmmm a dalish with a chip on her shoulder. You never see that ANYWHERE! Nathanial and Anders are always with me. Even If I am a mage.
Oghren was funny in Origins, but not so much in Awakening. The schleets thing had good potential, but if you play with him about it he throws a tantrum and you lose approval. And you don't want to lose a lot of approval in Awakening.

There's actually a semi easy fix to get around some of the buggy approval in Awakening. If you load your character up after the coronation and go to camp you can load up your inventory w/ any unused gifts. Those gifts will xfer over into Awakening and all grant +1 approval. It isn't much but it's a decent away to get past Oghren's diminishing returns bug.

If you have the Feast Day package that's like +100 approval from stacks of cakes.

If anyone hasn't seen this yet Chakhabit's Alistair/F!Mage comic is pretty cool.

That one page has me in fits. "Oh Alistair, you bad boy!" Ahahahahahaha xDDD

But... the mage reminds me a lot of Sakura from Naruto in the way she is drawn sometimes.... makes it really creepy. She looks really young.

Drop it in the recycling bin.

Morrigan disapproves -100 Goes immediately hostile and attempts to kill everyone in camp...

Just catching up on pages.  My Morrigan has the Sacred Ashes trailer face which at first looked like a howler monkey to me and now has grown on me.  I think she's rather pretty.  The original has these cartoonish looking eyes I didn't like.  The new one has better eyes so I prefer it now.  Added Amazon bodies (for that scene with Alistair and from an artist's point of view its not so bad anymore)

Sadly the Morrigan here I can easily see as being Flemeth's child.  To me she looks like a spider and if I were the PC doing the DR with her I think I would refuse...she'd eat my face off!Posted Image

Problem is that is exactly what he says about his mistress. Why didn't they add more? After the landsmeet if you wait to bed him, he still says the same stuff. Ummmmm, we are getting married you know. That is what I am talking about. They should have added just a couple of queen/kingly things.

Yeah the love me thing. It seems the only way to me to get any emotion out of that moment. And when you tell Riordan about the final blow, he should say SOMETHING.

It would work for me.  For once Alistair could be playing his cards close to his chest.  He knows you will talk him into letting you do it if he protests or gives you a chance to think about it.  (He even brings it up at the top of Fort Drakon if you are unromanced and said that line so it IS mentioned just not with a romance).  This way when the moment happens he just does it and you don't get to lead for once.

This is the way I took it, too. If he volunteers for the job, he knows that there's no way you'll let him near the Archdemon. If he stays mum, he has better chance of getting close enough to do the deed.

And he's absolutely willing to die to end the Blight, and it's only because he can't guarantee that he'll be the one to kill the Archdemon that he agrees to the Dark Ritual.

And, guys, I had a dream last night that Alistair was my new "eating lunch on the porch of my office, snarking on dumb students" buddy. I have officially played too much DA and/or written too much fic.

Lucky you. I have been reading The Stolen Throne (better late than never) and I had a dream about Loghain as we see him in-game parading around in the too-tight pants that belonged to Maric. Barf forever. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/sick.png[/smilie] Why did such a horrible thing stay in my mind? I need lots of brain bleach.

I'll never get into the "Loghain is so sexy thing". I don't even get why so many people decided to lurv him after reading TST. I just wanted to behead him again and again for what he did to Maric.

<--- Edit: See, uncanny family resemblance.

I just... I can't even... do not want tightpants Loghain. What have I done to deserve such a thing? ;A; If someone else wants a "sexy" Loghain, they can have it. I haven't gotten past page 130 or so, I got stuck on some cheesy "their eyes lingered longer than was necessary" or whatever line and rolled my eyes so hard I had to stop.

I think this is a Morrigan hair party as well...

I, too, have never gotten the Hot Loghain thing, and I'm someone who is usually quite willing to crush on morally ambiguous old men if they're awesome enough. Loghain is not awesome enough. And I will agree with you on wanting to hurt him for the Maric business alone. Ass.

Loghain was probably pretty hawt when he was a youngster, but he looks now like he hasn't slept since the third Blight. And he seriously needs to take some iron pills and eat some red meat. The man is aniemic as all hell. Must be all that blood he loses from getting beheaded in so many playthroughs. And maybe spend a little time in the sun to kill off that Night of the living dead complexion.

His age doesn't bother me much, as I'm married to a man 31 years my senior. The personality does need to be brought into line, however. A few weeks in obiedience and discipline training should knock away those delusions of grandeur he's been having. And he does need to be severely punished for his treasonous actions that deprived the world of Duncan's Beard of Awesomeness. That alone is unforgivable.

Not my first choice of sexy, but I'd take him over Howe, Cammen, Eamon, Vaughn, and Jory any day.

I found Oghren sad in Awakening. He's sort of like what unhardened Alistair could end up like if he had thing going with the PC and in the end she sacrificed herself, only worse -- his wife abandoning him, the years he was treated like trash in Orzammar and then finding out Branka was cheating on him with someone else seemingly totally destroyed his sense of self-worth as well as any belief anyone could consider him worthy of anything let alone a normal relationship. He is still hopelessly hang up on his ex-wife to boot and his combat skills are the only thing about him anyone acknowledges, so he clings to that and revels in it. The jokes he makes are also a lot like Alistair's deflection routine, to cope with his own opinion about himself... but the way he reacts when he realizes you remembered about that drunk talk of his about the pony, that you actually listen to what he says... that was telling like hell. My issue isn't his age at all xD The personality, the looks, his actions.... those are all the major turn offs. He could be Ferelden's Next Top Male Model for all I care, he's still not someone that I'd find attractive because I don't like him >:|

Loghain talk maek Alistair teh sad.
