I only found out about that one through the Toolset but yes, apparently mental image of three women together is too much for the poor dwarf to handleAisynia wrote...
On a related note, having Oghren in your party when you and Leliana agree to Islabela's conditions is utterly hilarious.

He propositioned me one night at camp and I was like, hell yeah, sure. He passed out *sigh*
I think Sigrun is right, I think he's afraid of women. I suppose if I were a man, I would be too after Branka.

Looking back at TST snippets, I can see it. It's the same vibe as Nathaniel- brooding, misunderstood, overshadowed by Maric, and in his case so stricken by what he saw happen to his mother that it colors his whole life. You do want to reach in to TST and tell him that it will be ok. Except, I think by the time we meet Loghain, he's almost beyond that already. Rowan could have done it, but he lost her to Maric.
Oops, top of the page.
Rueben's artwork of young Maric and Loghain is the only time I ever saw Loghain and thought "damn!", but that's more a credit to the piece (the Maric Awesome Overflow Factor can't be hurting, either):

But that's part of why it's funny. I don't think he gets that it could be seen as a come-on. He's just being goofy. Although if you do take it that way, I think he'd laugh and play along, until the blushing tongue-tied thing takes over and he has to go over and stand at the other edge of camp.Aisynia wrote...
*snickers* It's just SO out of the blue! It also barely seems in character, he's a man sure, but he's a damned prude.. well, sort of. I just don't expect that from him

In general, though, reading the books made me dislike Loghain more, unlike a lot of comments you hear about people's reactions to them.

Heh, well as I see it, he's going back and forth between the actual and metaphorical lamppost. Just like if you say "no, I haven't licked a lamppost," he'll respond something like, "good, I saw an initiate do that once and it looked really painful" or whatever, and then switches to talking about sex.Aisynia wrote...
Okay, now a separate question, also related to Alistair. When you have the "Have you never..?" talk, and he starts talking about lampposts.. if you say "I've licked my share of lampposts, and more" why does he say that's disturbing?
Most guys I know, even the polite gentlemen would probably think that's terrifyingly hawt (though they wouldn't necessarily say it).

Ugh, no! It's not a commentary on the armor, but I've come to the conclusion that I just don't like Shepard. His voice is so wooden and the writing seems shallow in comparison to DA.TheGrumpyOne wrote...
Alistair Shepard.

The armor isn't my thing but I'm not surprised that he wears the modern style so well, considering how anachronistic his appearance and sense of humor are.

This is why, as far as I am concerned, the real Shepard is a woman (among many other reasons).

Too bad no female support. I've strongly considered playing through as a male at least once, but haven't managed to force myself to. That might make it more bearable.
