I play my mages like Fiona, though- in the thick of things. I really don't know how other games handle it, much of the gaming stuff I see is silly frankly. Those WoW-type elves? Don't even get me started. LOL But for example, in Oblivion, I always made my mages battlemages, and it's just how I see a Warden mage. Blasting the enemy with a fireball one minute and decapping the next, it just doesn't get any better.
WoW sticks w/ the typical mages wear robes. I played frost for PVP and fire for PVE. It wasn't really too different than Origins. A PVP mage in WoW basically is always keeping up Frost or Mana Shield which is similar to Arcane Shield in Origins.
I'm used to the typical food chain in games
Warriors eat Rogues
Rogues eat Mages
Mages eat Warriors
I played WoW for years and switching to solo gaming (for many reasons) has been fairly easy. Especially in a game like Origins. It was easy enough for me to slip into any class. I've just always really liked rogues.
Hmm, I think I am going to start an Arcane Warrior since it's the only combo I haven't tried really ever in any game. I'm probably the only person in the world that hated Morrowwind and Oblivion.
