@Addai- LMAO! I was off playing with Zidane, actually. |D~ And as much as I enjoy looking at Maricstair, I don't have it installed in any of my playthroughs. I only load it to take purdy pictures. 8D

@LD- It's my favorite hairstyle too. It's simple, but not too simple. I can't bring myself to use it on any other PC either; it just doesn't seem right to me. I make it a point to use make each character different unique, and the hair helps a lot in that regard, I think.

@yuki- I don't like mods that alter eye color and such as well. I'm not fond of mods that alter an NPC's appearance at all, as ironic as that may sound, though I can probably tolerate changes to things that I can actually see changing. Like growing stubble, hair growing longer, heck getting a gash across the face. But when, say, the bridge of the nose suddenly got thinner... that's a big immersion breaker for me. No offense to those who use mods like those though. To each their own, right? xD

yea some projects on the pages have complete overhauls of Alistair (or whomever) and I can see little things (scruffiness, a scar or two, longer hair) but not complete changes like eye color, facial restructuring etc.  The only way I could stomach something like that is just reorder my thinking, okay for THIS reality, this is what Alistair looks like (thats the only way it works for me)>  BTW nranola, have I said thank you? I did? well it won't kill you to hear it again will it? thank you!

Yeah, if they're feasible within the game it doesn't bother me as much. It's why I had a scruffier Alistair mod installed for about a day. But when he doesn't look like Alistair anymore it feels wrong. Funny though, because my characters get toolset plastic surgery a lot until they look fine >:D

Looks too much like Cailan, dnw.

Where is all this jealousy?

When you gossip about your party members and he asks about Zevran, you get a chance to tease him about being jealous if you tell him you trust Zev.

@sylvan- Haha, you're very very welcome! Glad to see you like it so much. xD I'm tempted to give it a go on another playthrough, but I probably won't be able to stomach it. I'm too attached to Vanillalistair to run with a modded one even if it does look purdy. :crying:

Oh, and going a bit off-topic here, but does anyone know what font is being used in the game? I don't recognize it as any of the standard ones that come with the OS.

I've yet to romance Zevran with any of my characters, but I do find it funny to tease Alistair about it. I'm bad >:}

PC: Why, are you jealous?
Alistair: Maybe a little. That doesn't stop the question from being relevant.
PC: You're jealous! You're actually jealous.
Alistair: Just... answer the question! You're killing me, here.

Lol I haven't either but it looks like fun lmao.  Especially if you're in a relationship with Alistair and that comes up,  poor Alistair.  It's so fun to pick on him, in a good way lol.

Alistair and Zevran do have a bit of an alpha-male jealousy thing going.  The banters with Alistair are about the only time in party chatter when you actually hear Zevran getting angry.  They're terrible to each other in the "sex advice" and "I've seen the way you fight, why didn't the Crows send anyone better?" banters.

The dialogue option only comes up once you've already triggered the romance, I think. It's fun poking fun at him. *pokepoke* 8D If you haven't seen it you should definitely give it a go. It's funny how frustrated he gets. xD

Haha yeah, I love their snarkfest. It's delicious and funny <3 Too bad only that my PC likes to team up with Zevran to annoy him for extra fun. Or picks all the poking answers in the dialogue like the "You are jealous HAHA' line.

Aww good times :wizard:

She still loves him to pieces of course, but poking him is just too much fun to pass for her.

Heh, well they seem to get over it long enough to conspire on who can get Morrigan's ice princess routine to crack.  Too funny.

Did you make Maricstair all by yourself? Because I have a problem, I do like the IA Alistair but I'd prefer him a little bit more vanilla. I want his eyecolor back to ... uh, what is his vanilla eyecolor? Amber? But I want the stubble from IA and I want the IA skin complexion ("blend" or whatever you have to adjust).

But when I try to tweak the genfl_alistair.mrh that comes with IA the hair suddenly has irritating highlights in game.
And I can't find the original morph in the toolset, I only end up loading the ... um, .utc.

Help me, please! I want my own perfect Alistair! :crying:

Edit:

Oh, and my new PC is a naughty girl! She'll flirt with Zevran, she'll invite Alistair to her tent, she'll go for the threesome with Isabela. ^_^ I want the jealousy convo, I want the little Miss Grumpy Girdle line.

A: Woman, you'll be the death of me... *sigh*
B: I assure you, it'll look like an accident, love. *kiss*
A: Yeah, I thought so... *kisses her back*

I just tweaked the original a little; gave him a different hairstyle and added a bit of stubble. I got the original mrh file from here along with all the head morphs used in the game. His is under the Global folder with the filename genfl_alistair. Enjoy? 8D

EDIT: Oh, but you'll have to add a "hm_" prefix to the mor file you export once you're done tweaking your Alistair head morph in order for it to override properly. So in the end you should have a hm_genfl_alistair.mor file.

Popping in here for a second.  I give up trying to follow this thread entirely.

Personally, I like both vanilla Alistair and Maricistair.  However, what I really want is for someone to come up with a mod so I can have vanilla Ali (or IA Alistair, even) in the original game, and have Maricistair for just Awakenings.  Because then I could justify it, you know?  It's like, "Oh, he's been King for a year, of course he grew his hair out."   Plus I think he looks more regal with Maric-hair, anyway.  On the other hand, he looks SO WEIRD at the beginning of the game in his splitmail with long hair.  It just doesn't suit him at that point, at least.  However, as King, it looks SO AWESOME.

Anyway, I'm random and weird.  Surprise!

You know what I also think looks good? Alistair in glasses.  I made in on the Sims 3 and gave him dorktastic glasses, and I think he rocks them myself.

So, I had a thought the other night, when I was contemplating the whole issue as to who takes the throne. Don't get me wrong, I love Alistair to death, but even though he is Maric's son, I think Alistair himself sums it up best himself, he's ultimately, the former king's illegitimate, and unacknowledged child. Legally, since Maric never acknowledged him, he's not really a Theirin at all, as far the nobility goes, he's just Alistair. Now, then there is Anora. When Cailin dies, she's not actually the queen anymore, and I think there was a bit of a plot hole because of that. Basically, Anora was married to Cailin as Queen Consort, not as Queen Sovreign, and thus any authority she wielded was only by proxy, but not through an real legal authority. Now, if she and Cailin had a child, she could of claimed the throne as Queen Mother and Regent, until their child came of age, but since she ultimately was just Cailin's wife, legally speaking, and since there was no child, all legal claims to throne vanish with his death (not to mention Loghain's tenuous basis for claiming the regency for himself). Basically, when it comes down to it, the ones with the best chance and to take the throne (and this is just IMO) would be either by Fergus Cousland or his male or female sibling (if you play a human noble). I mean, the Cousland family is second only to the royal family, which by law is now wiped out, since there are no remaining Theirin's to acknowledge Alistair as a legitimate member of the bloodline. Bryce Cousland was nearly made King by the Landsmeet after Cailin's death, and after they saw what a disaster he was, and if a human noble could swing the Landsmeet to see Loghain's treachery for what it was, I honestly think the Cousland's would take the throne without a hitch (not to mention they would now have the biggest claim if you execute Loghain at the Landsmeet, since they hold the only remaining Teyrnir).

It honestly sort of annoys me that this isn't really option in the game. I mean, I think the argument is fairly logical... but no, your only options are becoming Princess-Consort (thats what the epilogue refers to you as, and it still refers to Anora as Queen, even though she was deposed WTF!?) or Prince-Consort.

So, now my plan is this, play a human noble male, marry Anora, have Alistair execute Loghain so the marriage goes through, then let Anora exile or execute Alistair. Finally, ask for the Teryn of Gwaren as my boon in the end game, and set things up so my family now holds both Terynirs, and I'll be set to give that evil **** Anora the boot, and make myself King :P
