Well, yes, they all knew, I am aware, but the only ones who do that are left all have their own agendas. Anora will only acknowledge it if keeps her her throne, Loghain certainly won't publicly, and Eamon as the opposition party is suspect, and could be easily seen as trying to put a puppet on the throne.
And yes, the point is to support one of the parties for their bid, I just wish as a human noble you had the option to say **** all of you and put yourself on the throne.
Also, in regards to Theirin blood being all that's needed, ummm... Bryce Cousland was almost made king instead of Cailin (who declined, making Cailin the only other candidate), and it seems pretty clear the only one who actually thinks that is... oh that's right, Eamon. In reality, it seems like most of the Landsmeet doesn't actually give a damn if you're a Theirin or not, since they almost made a non-Theirin king, if they man hadn't declined
Blood is all that is needed to make a claim. It has nothing to do with other options for making a claim, like huge amounts of respect and power. That is how Anora plans to keep the throne, after all. I'm not saying blood is the only way, just that it
is a legal claim. And plenty of nobles seemed to know who Alistair was. Loghain couldn't crush them with any facts.
Also, with regards to Bryce, it says there was a following, but nothing seems to indicate that he was a truly serious contended. Had he pushed the issue, maybe. And with regards to Anora's claim, if it came down between a HN and her, I think the HN would probably have the stronger claim being from the oldest noble family in Ferelden, as far as we can tell.
