But it's not what gets said in the game, by Loghain. If Gaider is saying she was dead by then, Why is Loghain talking as if she were alive at the time. The conversation clearly spoke as if she were alive.
Again, like I said, and I know it was discussed a ton earlier in the thread, I think it's part of the fiction surrounding Alistair in order to hide him, especially if he is Fiona's son. There would have been a story and I think Loghain would have stuck to it. not to mention I think to Loghain, protecting Rowan's memory and the woman herself are about the same thing.
I can see that being the case, right up until "he would have been a constant reminder to Rowan of Maric's infidelity". You can't remind a dead woman. Every part of that conversation could be construed as protecting her memory, except that. It's...inconsistent. Either way, if Fuona returns and is Mommy, all my girls are in some BIG trouble...lol

Alistair has Eamon, who is a popular figure, on his side; Anora has served as Ferelden's queen for five years, has proven to be competent, and has Loghain on her side, who is also a renowned general; and you have... yourself. xD Although you will be better recognized by the nobles as someone who actually belongs to an old family, that's true. I doubt they'd hand over the throne to the inexperienced son/daughter of a recently dead teyrn, though, so you'd need more than just your family's blood to win it. You'd need people to back you up.

I wouldn't say that Anora's vote means nothing. Like I said above, I still lost at times even though I had all those votes and said all the same things. I believe Anora gets 3 votes in the count. Someone with a toolset might be able to check the mechanics?
For me it doesn't mean anything. I've never lost the Landsmeet except for my very first time playing and I sided with Alistair. But I also avoided talking to Anora too on that playthrough. She pist me off by betraying me lol. But I've probably played at least 8 other games since then and haven't lost once, and I've supported Alistair in all of them.
As far as what her vote counts I believe it's 3. I've seen it mentioned in other threads too.

Hahahaha, same here. My characters are bound to give her infinitely more hell than she could ever even think about giving them. Not immediately though, but if she came back and gave them crap about it.... Gloves are off.

On my previous EMF, I ran it three times and won the vote 1 out of the 3. So the odds are against you, but it's not impossible. You have to get Arl Wulff's vote (by talking to him before the LM and then mentioning the Blight) and an extra vote by completing Trial of Crows.bl00drequiem wrote...
Gotcha. Most I've played through, they go with Loghain if I don't play her games lol.

In my fic, Lya is gonna be pissed, but Fiona is gonna whip out the 'We've both spent our lives trying to protect him' card and she's gonna feel really, really bad for Fiona.

Oh, well yeah. I don't think any of my characters would just flat out attack her for it, especially if they hear her out first. I just meant if she came up and was all RAWR WHAT HAVE YOU DONE when she carries just as much and more on her shoulders.

Anora counts as 3 votes, yes. From what I read if you get 4 votes or less you lose the Landsmeet.Addai67 wrote...

Lol I do to. And I'm really going to enjoy doing it this time. I decided to have her betray me so I could see Alistair chew her but out lol. I'm really debating whether I want to talk to her though. I know I'm going to support Alistair but why do i have to talk to her and listen to her bs just to tell her I'm going to support Alistair lol. There should be an extra line added to tell her to not even bother with her speech, your supporting Alistair and she can either keep her promise on supporting you at the Landsmeet or she's going to look the fool. Either way she's losing her throne no matter what lmao.

I'm too smitten with him. There's probably a Greek name for this condition. LOL He's got the "cocky" voice set, for one thing, which is incredibly sexy.UrsulaCousland wrote...

I was actually talking about this over on the Morrigan research thread (where he's gotten some play since the modder used my game saves to test, video here!), but playing out the incredibly sad end of the Morrigan romance has made me better understand the various ways in which Alistair ends up post-game. My mCousland, going into the final battle, is poised to be a sad, numb man since only his duty is left to him.

Who's wearing shorts?
@bl00drequiem: Alistair is a Theirin. Being unacknowledged by his father doesn't change his blood.
As far as any legal claim to throne goes, yes, it does
Yes, he has Maric's blood, but not Maric's name, since he never acknowledged him. Realistically he would go by whatever his mother's surname was. And since Maric never acknoldged him as his son, nor did Cailin ever acknowledge him as his brother, he has no real claim to the throne. That's what I'm saying. Sure he may be in blood, but ultimately, as far the question of the succession goes, that doesn't matter a tinker's dam.
This then is what the Landsmeet is about. Who (Anora or Alistair) has the stronger claim? Ultimately of course its up to the PC but Cousland has less claim to it than either. (You would be seen as an opportunist no better than Loghain).

If he's hardened, he sure does. He does so unequivocally at the Landsmeet itself. Beforehand, you get kind of a mixed reaction. If you ask him "you don't think Anora should be queen?", he says "no, she probably should be," but then he'll talk about how she's just like Loghain and that's the problem with her.nranola wrote...

I personally don't think Anora's shown herself a capable ruler, but I think we've had that debate already here.

I enjoyed playing a male PC and doing the Morrigan romance, but I won't be rolling another male. In DA, the women definitely have more fun. Bella's kiss excepted (and I know you can mod it in for women, though that's not my thing!).
