The same way you can't say no to this face
Because it's creepy.
Quiet, you, or I'll beard the swamp witch!
Do it!

This would most likely be the reasoning my liberal mage would go by. I'd imagine making deals with demons wouldn't be too big a deal for him/her.KnightofPhoenix wrote...
That, plus he is generally curious about demons and already made a deal with one. It's just that betrayal is something that hits close to home for my HNF. It was what led to the Cousland massacre, after all. Betraying Anora would be cruel cruel irony... She'd be a little more unforgiving when faced with traitors like Loghain so there was no question that he wasn't going to be allowed to live, but the thing is my HNF wouldn't put it all so bluntly (the line that triggers betrayal). I can't see another way to work around this without going a bit off-character so I'll just have to deal. ;3;Addai67 wrote...
Just talk to Alistair right before you make your ruler choice. He makes no bones about what he thinks you should do. If you're worried about pulling your support from Anora, it's not anything she wouldn't do to you in a heartbeat.
It's a comforting thought, I suppose, how she won't have much problem going back on her word given the opportunity. I'll be sure to keep that in mind when I finally go through with it; would definitely make it all more tolerable.

Naw, I've thought about that as well. She wouldn't risk blowing Anora's cover. Although it would be less off-character if I made a little tweak at this point in the game than with that conversation with Anora... Hmm... It's something to consider. Thanks for the suggestion!LadyDamodred wrote...
Just have her betray you first with Cauthrien. No guilt then.

She comes right out and tells you if you free her she will aid you in the Landsmeet. She doesn't say if you support me I'll aid you, all she says is she will aid you. There's no if you do this or that, only free her.

Yes, even if your position is to overthrow her, she just has to help you, because she failed to specify that it is only when you don't kick her from her thrown.

Well she DID just get done telling you that any guards you encounter will either be loyal to her or to Howe . . .Thor Rand Al wrote...

She just betrayed me to Cauthrien after making that promise so ya I have no qualms about betraying her now lol
