Why do I wake up to such things?  David Bowie would be proud of the eye makeup.

Funny, the Deep Roads have grown on me. It really feels like a dangerous journey and it's the only time in the game it makes sense that you don't go there with all of your companions. I really enjoy it, I also enjoy the Sacred Ashes temple.

The only part I truly hate is the Faaaaaaaade. Little pun for startes, the word "fade" (written like this) does exist in German and it actually means dull. The perfect description.

I use Skip the Fade it's just not fun anymore.  Even when I put it down to easy on my rogues it still takes about an hour.  It doesn't matter how many times I do it, I'll still get lost.

I don't mind the Deep Roads that much either.  I don't really like the Jarva part though before it.  I've grown to hate the werewolf/Dalish part the most.  I always do it last and by the time I get to The Lady of the Forest I want to punch everyone.  There is a serious like 10 min whine feast between her and Zath and it makes me want to just fireball the whole room and be done w/ them all.

I'm seriously tempted to use Skip The Fade.

Deep Roads, and the Ostagar/Lothering segment make me want pull my hair out the most. Fortuneately the fade is really short for me, something close to 30 mins or so for it all (Never really timed it). So it doesn't bother me like Deep roads do.

I enjoy it most on my mages though. Warrior/Rogue can't wait to get out of the fade.

Kyaaa, do Punisher again Alistair-sama ^____^~~~
(I deserve to be murdered for that.)

There is little I love more than Alistair running to the aid of my PC with a well-timed Punisher. It's just so epic looking in motion. I also think that, if Brand Cousland ever got a tattoo, she'd get the little Punisher icon as it pretty much defines her at this point.

My SheAmell isn't even out of the Tower of Ishal yet and she's already completely smitten with Maricstair.
I was a bit afraid she might go for Leliana, but I doubt that she'll have eyes for anyone but her Barbarian Templar.

That's a bit too 80's beauty queen for my tastes. The frosty pink lips just do not work with his facial hair.

Heh, in all seriousness, I really enjoy Deep Roads. I think I take longer than the average player does because I'm always panning my camera around looking the structural damage or the placement of coffins or clicking on every single road marker to see what it says. I often take screenshots of interesting places if I can. Sometimes I listen to Hespith repeat that poem a few times before I inititate dialogue with her. I am sympathetic though -- it does seem to drag on when I'm not playing a dwarf. I have to hurry before I start missing my dwarves and want to run back to them! ;)

Noble checking out the collasped bridge with Oghren and commoner taking in the scenery at Kal Hirol.

Edit: Oh, the noble is carrying Gorim's shield and sword. She does switch to the Aeducan shield when she returns with the crown for Harrowmont, but it is with Gorim's sword that she slays Bhelen with so he can be there in spirit as she avenges them both.

Quoted with photo because your shots are always beautiful.

And I agree with you about the Deep Roads.  Sometimes I whinge about it, but if you do take your time and pan around a bit, the detail is amazing.  The sense of crumbled glory, of ghosts.  I think what I miss is the party interaction.  You get nothing.  Whereas for your Warden, this place is very significant- it will likely be where you end your life.  Why can we not talk to Alistair about that fact??  Why can't I tell Zevran, when he's insisting that we kill Ruck, that the taint is in me, too, and that I thus feel a kinship with Ruck?

*Cries* sticking my head in the car door and slamming it a few times is less painful than the Deep Roads for me. I always dread it and my game loses steam during that loooooooooooong ass run in there

*edit* top of page okay...one of my favorites just posted I copied and pasting.  In this one it almost seems like Al and the PC have just brushed cheeks to me...I thought it was a downright sweet moment to capture JUST right...

Heh, glad you like it.  It is a bit dark- must have been on the way to a fade-out- but sometimes seeing less is nicer.  Posted Image  I do see what you mean, that they look like they've just had a cheek-nuzzle.  Pardon me a moment while I melt into a ridiculous puddle of goo.

My husband says he prefers a more boyish look for Alistair, but I got him to admit that it's partly because that gives his male PCs unquestioned alpha male status in the party.  Which is the motivation that drives a lot of the world, isn't it?  But, since his last PC sent Ali naked into exile and his current one is a human-hating Dalish female who's going to romance Zevran, he has absolutely no Coercion points where Maricstair is concerned.

It sounds terrible, but it's incredibly practical. You can get your loot off of him if he's made king with Anora and, if he's *sob* executed, it will show up in the trunk next to his spot in Eamon's estate. If you just exile him, though, he takes off with your heart and your stuff. I lost Andruil's Blessing that way. Posted Image

Re: The Deep Roads. I find Dwarves and Dwarven culture/history to be absolutely fascinating, so the Orzammar/Deep Roads are wonderful in my opinion. If I could ever get through the Anvil of the Void section without wanting to ragequit or throw my companions in the trenches for their infuriating inability to not attack the corruption-spewing head thingy, it would be almost perfect.

It IS terrible.  And since I had NB installed at the time (removed for those tent shots because of the weird neck thing), Ali didn't even have his BVDs.  Posted Image

The trunk thing, that...  nooooo, I'm just going to keep thinking about what Ali might be whispering into my elf's ear in that shot.  Posted Image

The trunk thing made me cry. It felt extraordinarily cruel and, in turn, made me feel extraordinarily cruel.

yea I can't kill him. Even the one time I wasn't going to keep the "Save Loghain and talk to him in camp" thing I couldn't execute him. I ended up marrying him to Anora (that way I could talk to him after) More the fool I that I actually thought he would understand what was happening and why my PC did it but nada, zip, zilch. Loghain really is his achilles heel. Loghain in group = No Alistair so...I went to camp, spoke with the douche (found him just as douchey as an enemy) reloaded Landsmeet and Queen of Hearts'd him. I can stand just about everything except douchery in my party and the thought that I had to substitute Alistair for that guy just had me cringing everytime he spoke with that "I gargle with razorblades" voice of his. Not to mention he looks like a mule kicked zombie strung out on drugs.

lol Sylvanaerie, I was thinking of this during the cutscenes in my new game and kept laughing.  I also noticed that he kind of randomly pauses like William Shatner when he talks.

I executed Alistair once, just to see what happens and the whole emotional speech by Alistair " There going to throw my body on a pyre along side Duncans" put a lump in my throat.
