Hey yukidama. Don't worry I don't like Maricstair either.
Good, Alistair won't stand idly by while his hair is desecrated. Hair takes all of like, 5 minutes to trim and there are plenty of opportunities in camp to do so. If you can spend all that time chatting and making googly eyes at each other, there is time to shave and cut your hair. Though I enjoy some scruff so I don't mind him letting that go once in a while.... no. MUST RESIST.

Is this the part where Zathrian says they turn on you just as quick and you're forced to pick sides? That's the farthest my conversation went before the battle breaks out. Would be interesting to know if you can push it a little more. o3o

Unfortunately, my HNF knows they need Eamon, and she reasons keeping his family alive is necessary. She's also really leery about blood magic and has an issue with hurting kids after what happened to Oren. It's not to say she likes Isolde or wnats to keep her alive, but Eamon is the key figure and she wants him happy and able to function. Other characters look at it differently, but remain sketchy on the whole killing kids/sacrificing people thing.
That's part of my reason why I can never go that route of sacrificing Connor/Isolde. One because Conner is a child and as a mother myself I could never do that. And after my HNF loses her little nephew the way she did and her mom there's no way she could invoke that same kind of pain on someone else.
My PC takes the chance and goes to the Tower but before she does she goes through the castle and kills anything that comes alive, even upstairs where Connor's at. She has her conversation with Conner, makes sure everything's safe for the moment then takes off to the Tower. That's one of the reason's why I always try to do the Tower before Redcliff because all I have to do is run to the Tower, tell the First Enchanter he's needed at Redcliff and then run bk to Redcliff. Less time and less of a chance of any mischief going on.
Even though Isolde is to blame for this it's not just her fault either, some of the blame goes to Loghain also. He is the one that sent Jowan under false pretenses to poison Eamon. I think it's bs that Eamon doesn't go into a rage with Isolde for hiding the fact that Connor can channel but get's mad at Jowan and wants to kill him for what he did. If not for Isolde's treachery Connor would never of been in that situation. Loghain would of tried another way of poisoning Eamon.

We must stop this unholy desicration of Alistair's hair. I don't know, if he's supposed to be 21, that morph doesn't pull it off for me. It's sexy, for someone older.
Yes, the madness must stop!

I give. I am going to wait until I can wipe my hard drive and try again with vista. I got it to load, but it will NOT save any changes. This is driving me bonkers.
Somehow, I don't think it's Win7/Vista issue. I would try again with Win7, and then if it doesn't work, go with Vista.

As far as my HNF, I have 2 that I am using now. One is tough on the outside but screwed up on the inside. She dumped Alistair after finding out he is an heir to the throne. (This is the one where she will marry him) She is messing around with Zevran to take her mind off Alistair. I think she may be likely to let Isolde sacrifice herself. My other one would not. It just really depends on how you RP. I have decided to let the earlier sacrifice Isolde.Thor Rand Al wrote...

I don't think so either, since it worked on 7 to create the thing and make 3 updates. I have no idea what went wrong. Hopefully wiping the HD will do the trick. Must be something causing issue.LadyDamodred wrote...

I seems like RTO just didn't feel emotional enough. And I HATE the comments between Wynne and Alistair toward the end. I get the heck outta dodge before I have to hear the whole thing. Yuck.
Yeah, you know something is wrong when the PC is the one that looks most upset about the whole thing. It's especially funny if you play a character who gave him **** at the beginning of the game. My PCs look sadder when they see Cailan than when Alistair sacrifices himself, or at the Gauntlet when they see a potentially dead loved one. It's totally a WTF moment. If there's a time to give the PC an expression, it's then. Not when they see some guy they knew for all of 5 minutes who they may or may not have told to go **** himself six ways to Sunday.
Actually I kind of play it (on my HN's) that giving Cailan his pyre also gives some resolution to that volatile time in the PC's life and maybe Cailan can stand in for the Cousland's whom the PC really didn't get to say goodbye to/mourn in a closure kind of way. Funerals being for the living IMO not the dead.
So I am okay with sadface PC at that moment. By the time I do Ostagar its almost Landsmeet (so Al can finish the game in the Cailan armor) and its been what? a year? or so since the Ostagar debacle. This is probably the only resolution she/he is going to get in regards to her past since her family has been thrown on the scrap heap and burned with the trash (god I don't want to think of them just lying in the castle rotting...)
And it just occured to me the mental mind screw its going to do to see Maricstair wearing Cailan's armor. If it freaks ME out I am going to love picturing Loghain seeing that bearing down on him at the Landsmeet. I'm so enjoying this playthrough.I downloaded a new older looking Loghain (this one looks mostly the same without the stupid raccoon eyes and has gray hair and a beard and looks more like a grizzled soldier). Wish I could take piccies for yall.
Well yeah. I can see a HN having a reaction, especially as someone who grew up in that world. But I cannot see why my Dalish PC who told Cailan to screw off, basically, would be so sad that the king is dead. She knew he was dead and I guess depending on your character they might be a bit sad to see a person strung up like that, but he had no real significance to her and she's seen so many civilians strung up by darkspawn and never reacted... I think she'd be sadder about them than a king who died in battle (albeit one that had a very huge effect on her and all of Ferelden, really).
Cailan really needed to lern how 2 finishing move

See and that's just it, I try and rp the game in different ways but I get so involved, so caught up with it that when it comes time to actually do that particular quest I can't do it. Bioware did a really good job on sucking a person in in this game. With other games when it comes to doing something on the more darkerside I have no problem, well a little but I still do it lol. But with DA I can't, it's got me so emotionally drawn into the game that I can't get myself to do those darker moments. It's frustrating because I know Isolde probably deserves to do a little sacrificing for what she did but I just can't do it lol.

I'm betting it's the SQL database acting up. And those are a royal pain to deal with from what I hear. But it's about the only thing it can be. Unfortunately I have no idea how you deal with it.

Alistair is hidden in this shot sadly but this armor is really beautiful. I wasn't going to bother w/ any modded armor this run but I decided to give Arcane Warrior a go again and I needed something to wear.
What armor is this?!? It is gorgeous! I'm playing an arcane warrior myself, and have some templar like armor that is just so...yukky (how can Alistair think it's so stylish?!? Silly boy!).
