Eamon is a dirty pedophile what do you expect?  Isolde would of had to have been like 14 yrs old to be that much younger than him and still have met him after the war with Orlais as implied in TST.  Dirty, dirty old man.

Eamon pushing Cailan about the heir business caused Cailan to resent Eamon and decline his troops while at Ostgar.  Eamon's men were less than a week out to not wait for them would be tactically unsound.  There had to be an ulterior motive such as resentment that caused Cailan's lapse of judgement.

It's not money related - I didn't start giving her sovereigns until my later playthroughs and still got the promise part.  Its the same dialogue option though, I think.  The "Goldanna, Alistair came here looking for his family" and maybe the "Is this what you were expecting" type line.

I do agree with the Maricstair h8ters that the look is probably too old for Alistair in-game.  And one of the things that is charming about the Alistair romance is that he and the PC are so young.  But, it's also part of the character (in my view) that there's a kingly man inside the goofy boy.  So that's my nerdy take on part of its appeal.

The other part is that it's just so smexay.

yep, Hardened Alistair and Badass cousland will tell him where to shove it.  The fact is, Alistair's line is "they'll expect an heri"...expect, not require, not dethrone if it doesn't happen, and frankly if Anora can tell the world that the joining is dangerous, we can tell EAmon look...the fish ain't gonna swim upsteam, sorry dude. esides that, if he's as greedy, conniving, and power hungry as people think, He'd be quite happy if there was no heir and Him, or Teagan were named as heir in the event of no blood heir, so I don't see him pushing the issues that hard really. Yeah Eamon griped that Cailan didn't have an heir, and suggested he put Anora aside. But Cailan didn't do it, why would a hardened Alistair?  Him having other women was just as likely to be due to his wife being an ice queen. Or there's the idea that he got caught with his women and she simply refused to let him touch her.

Sometimes he will make a promise to help Goldanna.  We discussed this else-thread and came to the conclusion that you only get this with a male PC.  That scene shocked me because suddenly Goldanna turns from her usual genlock charm to something approaching a human being and says, "well, I guess a royal bastard is still a bastard" in a softer tone, and Alistair makes a rather moving, solemn promise to help her.

Except for one thing. If you're a HNF married to Alistair, then you've done the ritual. There IS a Theirin heir.

Dialogue Tweaks inserts a "kiss Zevran anywhere" dialogue option.  But last I knew, cmessaz' combined romance mod knocks it out.  I haven't actually tried it on a Zev save yet.

I'm apparently doing something very WRONG on my Arcane Warrior because I'm extraordinarily underwhelmed with the damage out put. I'm running Arcane Warrior Plus and the first skill Arcane Pummel was doing like 8-14 damage a hit.

What weapon are you using?  My AWs do good damage.  Current AW has only the first rank (Combat Magic) and she's doing 20ish on a dagger hit.  Obviously, that is nothing, but as I said it's only the 1st rank and I'm mainly doing it to try out dual wield.  But with Spellweaver and all 4 ranks, my last AW would do... I want to say 70ish per hit.

Except for one thing. If you're a HNF married to Alistair, then you've done the ritual. There IS a Theirin heir.

Well, Eamon wouldn't know that and I somehow doubt he'd be privy to that sort of information. Also, unless things go really wrong then the demon baby won't really play into the throne. Well, if you believe Morrigan it won't, and don't go searching for her as an HNF.

Also, Eamon is quite welcome to send assassins after the HNF, that has worked out so well in the past.
