Yeah I don't think that is Morrigan's motivation. Sorry, no screenshots. Still haven't even managed to install origins yet.

I tend to like and trust Morrigan, so I believe what she says. Now, if it turns out she DOES betray the PC at a later point in time then the gloves will come off. I imagine my PCs (who liked her) would be very sad and hurt about the whole thing too, the others will just be filled with an epic rage even though they're not exactly innocent in the whole situation.

Well, I don't know what to think of that. Since the ice queen says that Cailen "had his women". But yeah, the dude wanted him to go out on his wife to produce an heir. We already know that Alistair and the Cousland will likely not be producing one, so you know whats gonna happen there.

Well, Cailan sleeping w/ other women is different than Cailan actually devoricing his Queen for a more feritle wife.  Anora is after all the daughter of his father's best friend.  I think Cailan was offended that Eamon would even suggest such a thing.   At least that's the way I took it from his letter in RtO.

I could see Eamon trying to have either Anora or HNF assassinated if they're married to Alistair since they can't bare more Theirin heirs.

The nail has been hit on the head.

Except for one thing. If you're a HNF married to Alistair, then you've done the ritual. There IS a Theirin heir.

Well, Eamon wouldn't know that and I somehow doubt he'd be privy to that sort of information. Also, unless things go really wrong then the demon baby won't really play into the throne. Well, if you believe Morrigan it won't, and don't go searching for her as an HNF.

Also, Eamon is quite welcome to send assassins after the HNF, that has worked out so well in the past.

I just don't think Eamon is that much of a threat, unless Alistair is solo unhardened. He's old, he's got Theirin blood on the throne, I think his role is done. We've all seen what happens when you push Alistair up against a line he won't cross, I'd say any suggestion of a woman other than the one he loves would have Eamon arse in a sling quicker than an Arch Demon can say crunch.

I absolutely disagree with this.  Completely and totally.  Remeber, Eamon is a traditionalist.  He wants things to be all proper and right,a dn he is loyal to the throne.  I cannot see him trying to assassinate the queen if there is no heir.  Not even a little.  Encouraging Alistair to divorce, yes.  Killing his queen, no.

Well even then that is not ok with me. Would he leave Isolde? It isn't fair of him to totally not care what Alistair wants like he does.

Yeah, I don't think Eamon would go so far. I think he'd be more complacent now, since you not only personally saved him once but also all of Ferelden while still managing to put Alistair on the throne. The deal doesn't exactly work out poorly for Eamon (he could be dead) and if he gets out of line I am fairly sure either a hardened Alistair or the PC will tell him where he can stick it. In nicer words, of course. Especially if you're chancellor as well, he can just go **** off.

I seriously disagree with everyone saying Eamon wouldn't eventaully talk Alistair into doing what he thinks is best. Alistair will do anything to please Eamon, and I think he knows it. Alistair needs a father figure. He may decline at first, but eventually I think it would likely happen.

Now, I'm not saying Wynne is a godless heathen, I'm just saying that she resisted the beard more than any other character I've tried.

I'm not sure if Eamon would go so far as to try to have someone killed, but clearly he has no issue trying to push someone out of the way if they're not useful in a way he liked. He's not an idiot and knows Anora was running the country- and running it well- but he was still willing to lose an able monarch for the sake of children.

I'm going for the mistress/chancellor route on my current playthrough mage, so that involves a hardened Alistair. I'm quite sure Alistair will be able to tell Eamon where to stick his ideas should he step out of line or try to talk about getting rid of Amell. I'd be most worried for a non-hardened solo Alistair, since he'd probably marry whomever Eamon decided to toss his way- and I very much see him choosing a wife that was in line with Eamon's goals.

I think after a certain point Alistair would value the opinion of his wife and queen, the woman he loves and has gone through an immense amount of crap with who is also potentially the chancellor, over Eamon's. Not that he'd cut Eamon completely out of his life but I don't think at this point in the game Eamon is above the PC in terms of who he needs or wants in it.

The Alistair you first meet yes. The Alistair you put on the throne? No, not anymore. Unless he isn't hardened after his sister. By the end of the game, it's your PC he trusts, looks up to. Eamon is his past. Alistair has seen ALOT with you, learned alot, and changed alot. He isn't the same guy you met at Ostagar, he even tells you HE can lead, which is huge for him.

The fact that he won't fight with you in Awakening shows me just how much Eamon cares. But I guess Awakening is just a story disaster anyway. Best to just forget it exists in my book.

Only one way to find out. My earlier issue was having Zevring installed without DT. DT only effects Zev and Leliana at this point. Here goes nothin.

He can't fight with you in Awakening, not as king.  He has a kingdom to run.  I always saw the 'Eamon heart attack' as not a serious line about being concerned about what Eamon thinks, but more a reminder of his duties.

But the queen is ok to? Cailan fought in the battle. Many kings fight with their men.

He was doing King stuff in the Bannorn, because that stuff needed dealt with, and his duty as king had to come first. Our own fault for crowning him I guess.
it made sense he wouldn't fight with you. If you had the warden ending he has much less reason to not fight with you.
