FFFFF I accidentally de-starred the thread while wading through the pages. I'M SORRYYYY. ;3;

Does anyone know how they determine who you meet up with in the lobby if you attempt to escape by yourself? It was Leliana and Morrigan for me on two playthroughs. Are they the default rescue team?

Just checked the toolset. It's the same response regardless of whether the PC is in a romance with him or not. Though as great it is to think Alistair comes to your rescue, I much prefer what he says if Anora turns you in to Cauthrien and he was with you:

PC: I'm going to strangle Anora when we get out.
Alistair: Do you mind if I pin her down while you do? Or perhaps kick her?

x'DD

I can't see my mage going ahead without him. Since she's so teeny and delicate the man won't let her out of his sight. I still can't choose her ending...warden for Alistair's freedom and not see him at all in Awakening, or King/chancellor and get a little  taste to start the vigil with. I HATEEEEE seeing Anora show up, my Human mage got that. Tho...I could justify redoing her ending and using the marry alistair mod, but they had such happy epilogue cards in both games I won't.

One thing that did surprise me is that he says "I didn't want to be king, and I still don't." I had always said that a hardened Alistair wanted to be king. He doesn't, he's just more willing to accept it and see the good in it.

That's how I see it as well. He is happier as a Warden but his sense of duty is stronger in that moment, even when he's hardened. He feels obliged to takes the throne because it's his duty and sees that he can do some good, as said. The face he makes when asking "are you willing to give up your freedom for it" says a lot as well. I think a great deal of his willingness to become king is that the only other option is the hated Anora. I quite don't know if he would be so persistent if there were another candidate. Interesting was also that he said to my FEM who stayed as mistress; "Being king is bearable-- as long I have you." (D'aaaww) So even hardened he isn't ecstatic of the idea to be king but he copes with it -- better than unhardened Ali for sure--- but I tend to think it's not the life he eventually wanted for himself.

Nevertheless I prefer Warden Alistair (though depends on the PC I'm playing) Lets have Ali his well deserved freedom, he never had in his life before. Stupid biatch can keep the throne. *shrug*

@Aimo's comic: Maker tis totally sad and emotional, yet this is how I picture the DR and Ali. He is doing this to save the woman he loves and therefore willing to sacrifice himself for this deed *sad panda* He thinks of all the things he has found and experienced and therefore is not willing to give this up. Yet all the guilt and agony showing through during the 'act' there ---simply beautiful in a twisted way.

I like how things turned out on my city elf's landsmeet. She did NOT make him king. HE made the choice himself. When it was time to excecute Loghain I chose "Alistair, you should do this". Because really, it is his moment in my mind on anything but a Cousland. As a Cousland I hold Loghain equally responsible for the deaths of my family, and the lack of justice (he let Cailan die knowing there was a promise, and he could have fulfilled it. Instead he rewarded the killer). As anything else, Alistair has more right to that moment. As soon as he kills Loghain and Eamon says "so it's decided" Alistair steps up and says I accept.

I just wish afterwards he didn't tell her SHE made him king, because she did not.

Gah WTF. Alistair kills Loghain, accepts being king, asks me to stick around...then gives me -2 approval AFTER saying he's fine with it. I like him much better as a lover than a friend...grumbles.

Heh, the only times I have ever made him king as his friend I married him or Anora.

Well marrying him was out, I'm a city elf in love with Zevran. Who, by the way can be incredibly friggin hot. i'm not going to reload over -2, he can just do what I do...

suck it up buttercup!

No, he and my male PC were BFF's, Aedan told him he would gladly help him etc., and he still got a -2.  Alistair is just not happy about being king.

Well, I ran the execution and exile scenarios.  I can't say it affected me much because there was too much of an air of unreality about it, since it's something my PCs would never do.  One thing that did surprise me is that he says "I didn't want to be king, and I still don't."  I had always said that a hardened Alistair wanted to be king.  He doesn't, he's just more willing to accept it and see the good in it.

Still catching up here, but when does he say that?  I was pretty sure that was an unhardened Alistair line.

If he says that somewhere, hardened, it's in contradiction to other things he says. Of course, it depends on what he means by 'want.' He might want to be king and very much want Anora not to be queen, and still wish he could stay a warden. It's a big complicated deal with lots of factors. He probably wouldn't feel just one thing.

Awww why isn't the Forgotten Armor showing up for me? I'm already in Ostagar and it hasn't popped into my inventory yet. I want to see it on my HNF, dammit. ;3;

1) Do a hard save (not a quick or auto) and then exit.
2) Go into the DLC menu and disable Forgotten Armor.
3) Force Load the hard save and resave over it.
4) Enable Forgotten Armor in the DLC menu.
5) Load your hard save.

That should make it work for you.  Sometimes if the armor mods are already installed when you create a new character they won't show up.

As for the AW I'm doing better now that I switched to a sword.  I still need a good sword though since I don't have Spellweaver yet.  As for the damage out put I'm getting it's nothing stellar but it's better.  Over all it's fairly amusing to play but not impressive.  I can see tank AWs being much like Tankadins in WOW... you can live through anything but it takes forever to kill anything.  I'm playing more of a damage dealer AW since Alistair is still set up to be S&S.

Yes, they're the default team.  I've played through as 3 different rogues and always escaped w/ Alistair in tow only to find those two at the door.

That's because your companions don't like you and they would rather leave you to rot in a prison.
Yes, even Alistair.

Yeah, at the very front.  Leliana will say something about being disapointed that she wasn't able to use her plan.

He only says that when you're paring Loghain, because he sees it as the only way he'll get his justice against him. He's painted into  a corner, with no time to think about it.

You people are actually comparing Alistair to Sean Bean, aka Boromir?

@Serissia- Ah, that's a shame. The toolset has lines for every companion once you meet up with them by the front door so I had the impression it was randomized.

And I did that with the mod, many times over. Even tried uninstalling the mod and installing it again. It shows up in my other characters so I'm guessing I need to advance farther into the game before it appears. I was hoping to test it out right away. Ah well... =3=

What the holy maker is going on...I am at camp, pre-final redcliffe, , making sure all conversations have been had, And suddenly Leliana is all over me, and in love, and friggin making me choose between her and Zev. Mind you this was AFTER she did the "your Zevran" And she's telling me things I never said (ie: zev and I weren't serious? really? I told you the opposite) That girl is NUTS! nuts I tell you.
