Noooo....just...no.....![]()
Skadi disapprives -10. Rather see Alistair with a mohawk or Duncan's hair.
OTT! I removed it after 4 hours of gameplay, i just couldn't take to the wild look. It looks better on Zevran, then it does Alistair.
I just realized it makes him look like a bad Bon Jovi knock off.

Ohh, well that makes more sense, then. It surprised me. It doesn't surprise me that the end game has yet another bug.Lady Jess wrote...
Hardened he is supposed to say (according to the toolset) "I see I need to take matters into my own hands. I demand justice, and that means I take the throne. I will be king."
Now, I had him hardened in my spare loghain ending...and got the first. So, it's not so much Alistair still not wanting to be king, it's yet another landsmeet screwup I guess.
He is actually pretty persuasive with this line. If he'd calm down a bit, he'd probably do better in this scenario.Anora: He's being childish. How many generals do you think Ferelden has? We can't afford to lose any of them to Alistair's tantrums if we want to survive the Blight.
Alistair: Oh, but we could afford to lose a king? And the entire army that was abandoned at Ostagar? Whose tantrums cost us all that, I wonder?
What pulled at my heartstrings a little was how he said things like "being king is about more than having the right breeding and education." It points out how little he was given in his childhood, despite his birthright, while Anora had every advantage.

Honestly after Awakening, I don't want them to continue the story in DA2. Imagine all of the different scenareos. There would be great potential for a story disaster.
The only way DA2 would work continuing the Warden is if they take into concideration the LIs. For better or worse they made this an aspect of the game in Origins and people became attatched to their LIs. Really a paragraph long epilogue card isn't enough to please most people.
Personally I feel that they've introduced more than enough characters between Origins and Awakening and if they merged the best of both they'd have an awesome companion selection.

If they handwave a few of those scenareos and know the direction they want to take, it can have a good outcome. They have done this with ME 2 after all, where the key decisions are carrying over when you fire your Me1 char up. Of course not all decisions were regarded (tis impossible) but I was surprised how much ME2 felt like a sequel and like my sequel with my own char on top of that. I hope they are able to achieve that with DA 2 too. As said before in the thread, my interest to built up a complete new character is slim too, for that I became simply too attached to my characters.
@AnniLau: Probably. I mean it is Alistair after all xD

My dream of an Alistair/Anders/Zevran team could finally come true. Oh, the snark that would fly, never mind all the blushing Alistair would get done being at the banter mercy of Zevders.

It would be. Especially if they made it a choice of who to take. Say in the starting scene. OR your LI from origins is default, plus pick what...6 more? From Awakenings and Origins.
My HNF would take Alistair, Zev, Sten, Nathaniel, Anders, Leliana and Dog.

I just started playing WoW again, and it's children's week...so sorry Alistair, I need pets, you'll have to wait a bit...lol I'm half afraid if MY wardens aren't involved in DA2 I won't bother. I put too much time and effort into just making them look the way I wanted, plus all the relationships, and time spent putting just the right equipment together...I have zero desire to start all over and leave them to rust. I did like how Awakening handled that at least, giving you both options.
If they don't continue the Wardens, it will be a new game. You play it just like you play any new game. You're not losing anything.
To me I am. I'm not saying I won't try it eventually, but It will REALLY have to prove itself. I'm not a very varied gamer, I don't pick up and play new games very often. If I find a game I like I stick with it until I'm completely done with it. Dragon Age captured me because of the attachment to my characters, and their companions. If their story gets to continue, I'll be ecstatic, if it doesn't...well I won't be in a big rush to buy, until I see something on the boards that impresses me. I don't think it'll be an issue really. Both games ended with our adventures being "far from over".
I would give Bioware enough credit, that if they do not continue our Wardens, the next game will suck us in the same way this one did. As much as I love, DA, if nothing changes, you grow very bored, very quickly.
Would I love to see my Warden continued? Yes and no. If they did an awesome job, and there were no continuity probelsm, it would be nice to see what happened. But if they can't do that, I would rather start fresh, keep my characters forever in my heart and start anew.

Just a few things I noticed. They're dwarf-related, sowwy, heh. That's the only area of the toolkit I am mucking around the most. =pAddai67 wrote...

Everything after the Landsmeet is really poorly done, it's fairly obvious that the devs ran out of time and/or funds. There's so much in the Toolset it seems like for a while they were unsure as to what, where and who was going to actually be included in the game. Really Awakening is like that too. It has a good beginning and middle but fails to deliver w/ the ending.
This is when you see Bhelen for the first time during A Paragon of Her Kind:
(IF: Told_Player_King) Bhelen: "Your Highness, you honor me."
(IF: Told_Alistair_King)
(Dwarf Commoner) Bhelen: "Welcome to your new house, little sister. Or shall I address you as 'Ambassador?'"
(Dwarf Noble) Bhelen: "My big sister, back from the dead, not only a Grey Warden but also an official of Ferelden."
(Other races) Bhelen: "Ambassador, welcome. I must admit; I'm impressed."
And when Bhelen is asking you to hunt down Jarvia for him:
(IF: player or Alistair is king) "You would ask the king of Ferelden to hunt down pickpockets?"
Bhelen: "I'd never ask for such a thing, but if you do eliminate Jarvia and her thugs, you would have my gratitude."

Exactly, only LadyDamodred has a way with words that I do not posess.
Thanks!
I look at what they're doing with Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2. GW2 is set 250 years after GW, so while you cannot carry your characters forward, you can totally RP as you are the decendant of your epic, save the world 4 times hero. If they're going to put a large gap between the two, it would be easy to put some sort of bridge for every origin. For the HN, perhaps you are one of Fergus's decendants, for the DC, you descend through Rica, etc.... There are more than enough ways to do this that would be 1) easy to institute and 2) wouldn't be lore-breaking.

So, are companions just supposed to meet you when you escape alone?
Yes and I think the one you romanced should show up.
When I tried it with my mage both Leliena and Morrigan showed up. He was flirting with both you see.
I did that too with my HNM n yep both Lel n Morri showed up, talk about awkward but I had them both at love lmao.
Made the end game interesting though. My Cousland made Alistair King, ran off to find Morrigan and had Leliana with me and they were both still in love. My male Cousland was a um bit of a player, he was having his cake and eating it too lmao

I don't know about putting it THAT far into the future. Maybe a couple decades. And we can't use another blight, maybe a Qunari invasion or something. Or a world war.TheGrumpyOne wrote...
The problem with setting the sequel 250 years after Orgins, is that it would no longer be the "Dragon Age".

Carry over our decisions, but place it very far in the future maybe. I could deal with that. In fact, I think that is the best way to go. Maybe if EA wasn't involved we might have more continuity, and then carrying over our story wouldn't scare me so much.
I thought that some of Awakenings epilogue cards were painfully irrelevant considering how far into the future they dived. I remember thinking to myself, "So, when are they going to actually tell me anything about my Warden?"

An age only lasts 100 years, bioware would have to come up with a new title. The next game might be set 20 years after the first, i think that is more plausible.
