With my Dalish character I hardened him after the Landsmeet. Sneaky sneaky >:B I want him to look out after himself more and be more confident but I also wanted to put Anora on the throne and run off to the Wardens together. I didn't want it to be an issue at the Landsmeet.

Though I do have an unhardened King save where he breaks up with me. I dunno why I kept that but she's gonna run into Archie's loving arms.


I also have saves pre-hardening, pre-Landsmeet on both hardened and unhardened... I like to cover my bases.

It's not hard to put your lover before the throne if the throne is scaring you to death anyway. Basically you're more important than his worst nightmare.

I know, it sounds sweet but I don't want him to be sweet at the cost of believing his only purpose in life is being your love-sick puppy.

*Sigh* I really like Maricstair...but only with an Elf. I ended up going back to IA's Al for my current HN run through. I tried Anderstair in game and I just had a hard time relating to him, though he certainly was fun for a bit! I made him get a haircut!

Well this is part of my problem with it.  I can't make Anora sole ruler.  My mouse won't move over those dialogue options.

I don't mind making her solo ruler (Except for her screechy speech) if I can ever get done with my Dalish I may do that with her.  She does a creditable job but there is the whole "no man is up to Daddy's shadow" in her eyes which leads to heir issues esp since she HAS no other relatives.  So there the MacTir line ends.

Well, since I actually was thinking of playing another Dalish character- I think I'm hooked on that particular story line- I might go this route.  I'll just Esc a lot through Anora's parts.    I really don't like the Warden ending, though.  Alistair just has to be king.  If he's not, it feels like a wasted game.

It's not hard to put you lover before the throne if the throne is scaring you to death anyway. Basically you're more important than his worst nightmare. I know, it sounds sweet but I don't want him to be sweet at the cost of believing his only purpose in life is being your love-sick puppy. 

But if you aren't planning to make him king, then it works better this way. He is scared about being king, but the toolset even implies that he is upset about her bringing the idea of getting married to someone else up.

I might try Morrigan's romance w/ an MCE. I've never played as evil and I doubt he'd be totally evil but sarcastic and devious maybe. I still haven't done the creepy eyelash stealer's romance either.

There's something I don't like about the IA Alistair... it looks artificial somehow.  The vanilla Alistair is grittier.

I had one Dalish be completely selfish about Alistair.  She made Anora queen, did the DR and rode off with Alistair to be GW's together.  Leave that stupid Human Politics crap to the b*tch who wanted it. Told Eamon to suck it up.

One Dalish made him king (mostly because I was going to try awakenings with a second character as a mistress) then ended up blowing up my game on my PC.

Current PC: have done three treaties, on Redcliffe now, has only just discovered his heritage and isn't sure what to make of this person she's been traveling around with.  Still undecided what I will do Since this will be the PC in my US fic with Alistair I may make Anora queen and then become dragon kibbles (will have to leave Al at the gate though).  Thinking I have to do it in game so I can write about it.  Hard to get that story started.

truth be told I like the scruff you get with IA's Alistair.  If I could have vanilla with JUST the scruff I would but its either Maricstair (Which my mind won't wrap around on a HN, I've tried) or Anderstair (who I just couldn't handle either).  Or Vanilla which well I REALLY like the scruff dang it!  Its SO SEXY!  I just wanna nuzzle those scruffy cheeks!

Ok this is all just speculation here. But I was going through some of my screenshots of certain conversations and I ran into the Guardian one. On this playthrough I told the Guardian that "My answer is my own, Guardian" when he asked me if I thought I had failed my parents. Alistair's response was "Now you got me curious about how you really feel." He's already hardened, and the romance scene was already initiated.

Could that response of his be to the fact I won't talk about my parent's or maybe there's a deeper meaning to his words about everything that's been going on, (maybe the relationship) since I won't open up to the Guardian.

I guess the person who's playing could take it however they wanted. When I saw that it kind of got me to thinking and had me curious lol

I dunno, I think Alistair's ~destiny~ as king depends on your character. I find it impossible to run off as Wardens if my character is an HNF since she has a better understanding and is more vested in the world of nobility and politics. But other characters who don't understand how it works and/or don't really care can easily choose to leave the throne to Anora. For characters who have resentment toward politics and nobles can go either way, I think. You may say "Screw you guys, I'm going to the Wardens" or put Alistair forth in hopes that he can improve the lot for you and your people.



Basically, I can see it going either way depending on how your character views things. You can do good by putting Alistair on the throne or you can do good by continuing the fight against darkspawn. Personally, I'm not too sold on the birthright/destiny line, if I put Alistair on the throne it is because he deserves it by proving himself compassionate and competent, not because his dad was the king. And if he's not on the throne, well, he's still serving his country by keeping it safe (unless you execute/exile him).

It looks like when he says "So this is a dreaded witch of the wilds" BUT it could be a stock footage shot (like they do with a lot of movies/tv shows".  I used to collect trading cards of Star Trek (The original) and Space:1999 and there were a lot of those.  That looks like unmodded cousland sword or maybe Alistair's original blade on his back? I dunno

Alistair at age 22 would be Alistair in awakening. 

Hrm.  I'm not seeing a whiole lot of differences, though his eyes look way too light.

Vanilla with scruff can be easily accomplished

I always tell the Guardian STFU. Alistair gives same response regardless of when you do the Sacred Ashes (I did it first on my Dalish, before ANYthing else).  So he was unhardened, and I didn't know he was Maric's son at this point.

That was my first time of telling the Guardian that n of course my first time of hearing Alistair's comment to that, so I didn't really know.

Is that one different from the IA Alistair?  IA Alistair looks pretty close to the age (21) he's suppose to be during Origins.
