If you do that Alistair objects more often than not.  Alistair is someone that generally stands for what is right.  If he backs the PC during any kind of morally questionable act it's generally out of loyality.  I've never played the game through w/ Alistair hositle towards me but I know when he was in love w/ me he stood by me during the Reaver chain for that reason.  He basically says so himself.

If people think siding w/ Branka is a good thing well, we'll just have to agree to disagree because I don't see it that way.

LOL @ the plate bikini

Edit:  Though that is no more ridiculous than the Dalish "leather bikini."  My new Dalish chick is definitely going to have Practical Female Dalish Armor.  Sorry to Alistair and Zevran about the lack of midriff in my new game.

Alistair has lines he won't cross. I'm pretty sure that putting people in metal cases and pouring molten lyrium on them while they scream is one of them, not seeing that as a possibility. Given the strength of his reaction to some gameplay choices, I think we can draw a few conclusions about where he would draw lines if gameplay didn't demand that the PC have a free hand.

But you're also talking about lines he won't cross when someone else has to make the decision.  He can vehemently protest because he's not the one making the choice.  If it were up to him, his actual choice might be different.  If, and that's if, he thought that he would have a better chance to defeat the Blight if he had golems and not just the dwarves, and knowing that the fate of all of Ferelden lies on that choice. I can see him choosing the golems.

I'm not saying that he would for certain, but I think it is a viable choice that he could make.

In a fit of royal rage, Kasha kidnaps King Alistair and holds him at Soldier's Peak, to protect him from any morrigan bad touching.

I think we are looking too much into this and need to just wait and see. Thats my opinion. Or you all can wait and see, I'll wait to see what you see.

And Alistair always disapproves of such actions? So without the Warden, he goes insane and then loses his moral compass.

It still doesn't make any sense.

Guys this is all speculation that has nothing to do with the DLC. If you are a darkspawn you won't give a flying pig's ass (I am liking that expression the more I type it) about Alistair, Morrigan or any of that crap. It will just be "UGH" Kill...squash etc...Not a lot of RP or player interaction going on.

Not to mention the idea of Morrigan and Alistair together WILLINGLY on both their parts is just nauseating.

The PC esentially controls Alistair's fate the entire game (hardening him or not, making him king or not) and Morrigan can be just as domineering when she wants to be.  Doesn't seem so far fetched to me.

The PC controls the Fate of everything because it is the player character.

Yes.  And without the PC, Morrigan would easily run the show :P

Lets not forget Alistair's "I like to follow" speech in Lothering.  He was a total mess at Flemeth's hut until the PC reappears.  He'd be easy pickings for Morrigan if she was determined to manipulate him to her own ends then.

I must ask again, since Dragon age is an RPG as far as I know, why didn't anyone think that having us play a Disciple would be a much more interesting role playing experience than playing a mindless spawn who just wants to kill everything?

We are talking about EA. Charging people for worthless content is their forte. But yes, that would have been worth something.

There's probably going to be some PoV of Alistair and Morrigan during the DLC.  If not why bother mentioning?  "A look at an alternate history: what if your character had died in the Joining ceremony, and the Grey Wardens marched under Alistair's command instead?"

It definitely would've been, but would probably require extra writing and voice work on their end.  Plus they'd likely have to create an all new Orlesian Warden for Awakenings since AListair being on the throne is the canon outcome of Origins.

Isn't it great?! Let's get off the DLC speculation, there is enough of that going on in other threads. Posted Image

It's not necessary, it doesn't have to be set during Awakening. But rather on how the Architect frees darkspawn prior. Perhaps even the creation of the Mother, or when she rebelled. There is countless possibilities, that would have shed more light on the Architect and on freed darkspawn.

I would have payed 10-15$ for this.

KoP- Just something with a plausable story to add to the game. Not this "alternate reality" BS.

It's truly awesome. I can play Origins with my favorite gear, and keep my Vigilance sword (danged crows anyhow).  Though I'd have to play all human nobles to explain how they GOT such nice stuff...lol

Though, I suppose Duncan could have picked up gear from the Cache in denerim when he recruited Daveth right?

I don't think we'll find out anything about this AU, because I think that any companions are only there to fight the darkspawn--basically as enemies. They serve no point except to be defeated. I really don't get why I would want to do that, although other threads indicate a market for this. I wonder if it's the same people who install stripper mods (not an invite to post pics ;), or a separate niche that isn't me?
