I don't know!  A lot of the elven men in the game are... I hate to say it... kind of ugly.  I'm trying to think of one that I thought was really appealing and I'm coming up bupkus.  Soris was probably the closest.

I just sent you a PM.  If you think of anything else let me know.  I gotta run for a little bit.  Soris is a good start.

I found the best looking elf in the game to be the one you find in the Alienage for the Blackstone Irregulars quest.  *now has it as a preset and used it as a face for her CEM*

It's a peculiar decision. The biggest complaints about DLC have been about a lack of effect the story/relationships, or the limited nature of interaction as a whole. ie RtO.  Then the biggest complaint about Awakening was (again) limited character interaction, and a lack of returning characters. So what's their solution? To bring the characters back, have no interaction, and kill them. Uh...dudes. DLC: You're doing it wrong.

I think the problem is that they created a model for the next generation of games, in terms of storytelling, but they just don't have the funding or time to follow that up properly, or repeat it. Origins may actually have been all we'll get.

The interview thing claims they're basically (still) experimenting with what types of content updates their playerbase is actually most interested in, which i guess makes sense in a way -- the sales can be pretty good indicator for that, or at least helps them to decide what type of development allows to get the most buck out of their bang. Which is why Awakenings was their only offering i actually bought, tbh. I'd rather see larger installment like that, so that's what i'm going to pay for, to hopefully contribute in getting the message through.

I mean, the concept of playing as a monster is the game is fun, but I don't know how well it works in this situation. Like, there are clearly hardcore fans who get way too attached to the characters who are gonna be kind of upset at having to kill their favorite characters. *coughs*

We shall see. I would love it if it ended as just some horrific dream my character was having. And then Alistair gets to comfort me. That might make it better.

Yes, let's waste 5$, for a dream.
And have Morrigan laugh at me for being scared at night. Yes, great idea.

We should have been able to play an Awakened Disciple dammit! PErhaps even a potential companion in a sequel.

Yeah, but so many people will probably buy this out of loyalty to the franchise, like I did with Awakening. I knew after they released their first FAQ that I would be disappointed, but I bought it anyway, and now it collects dust.

Did I say scared?  No, sir, I did not.  I used the word horrific.  :P  And I wasn't actually serious.  *sighs*  I suppose if I get to kill Morrigan via Cailan death it'll all be worth it.  ;)

I'm not upset...just a bit startled by this bizarre event by Bioware, kinda wish they would do some DLC's based off the six months before Awakenings or Recaliming Highever...

Yeah, reclaiming Highever would be awesome.  I'd buy that in a heartbeat!

I would totally ship Alistair/Morrigan for some strange reason

Wat?

This worries me the most. A trend in low quality, crap DLC that runs in opposition to the oevrall awesomeness that DA was.

Seriously. Sell me on why I would have any interest in playing a darkspawn. If we were discussing a DLC where you play through the eyes of an Awakened darkspawn and see the story through a different set of eyes, then that might have potential. But in origins, darkspawn are mindless, destructive juggernauts that do not have discernable opinions or points of view. It really is no different in experience from playing any other canned "kill everything" game.

Even killing Alistair or Morrigan doesn't bother me that much, if I was playing, say, as one of Loghain or Howe's goons, seeing the story from the opposing side, because there would be alot more to experience, new potential dilemas and questions as you are sent to hunt down or foil the Warden's plans. Or, to play as an awakened darkspawn and experience what it is like for the first time to have free will and sentience, unique amongst your kind.

But a darkspawn? Just run of the mill emmisary/alpha? Where's the appeal? What's the motivation for playing something that just swings axes and kills stuff without purpose, motive, or goal, other than to destroy everything?

Frankly, I'd rather they work on continuing Dragon Age: Journeys than this lame-brained BS. They are doing themselves no favors here.

I will also pay and play. I have the BW points, and I have a fairly iron-clad constitution when it comes to heartbreaking/horrible things like this.

Ultimately though, I have enough stupid faith that there might be something redeemable in this whole thing and, if there isn't, I will be amongst the noisy rabble being noisy and...rabble-rousing. I'm usually the sort of person who gets excited about these things even if they're obviously going to be terrible, but this one does have me worried. It's like up is down, and black is white.

To commemorate this confusion, here's a sadface...Anders!

*would never Zev bash*  I love Zevran, if not the same way as Alistair.  It pains me that people feel they have to act like this is friggin' twilight and have 'Team Alistair' and 'Team Zevran'.  :(

He's cute, but a little too young for my taste.  Looks like he's a junior high spitballer.  I do like him, though, for what he says.

I really am coming up empty.  I made an elf male once I thought looked half decent.  Dark haired, strong face, ponytail.  Obviously I like the long hair...  hey, it just occurs to me, no elf scruff, right?

Oh of course, I like Zevran's appearance, but that had to grow on me, too.

Awakening broke me of that habit nicely. The lack of interaction, lack of real choices masquerading as choice, and the ending that wasn't all added up to me never buying one of these things automatically out of some kind of loyalty again. If this DLC is any example, I seem to have given them the impression that I will, in fact, buy anything.

I don't think it's just the Alistairians though. I think it's anyone who wants more story, more of our wardens involvement, and less...blech hack n slash. I love combat myself, but not like that.

The only male elf I ever made was straight off of a Soris head morph. If I could, I might plop Soris on every male elf in the entire game, just for fun. Although I have to admit, Berwick kind of works for me, too.

$ is all the favor they need, because they know people will buy it.

It's idiotic. As if the DA universe has nothing interesting anymore, except for playing a mindless pawn.
A DLC about a Disciple of the Architect, now that is a DLC I would have payed 10-15$ for.
A DLC about Paragon Aeducan, flashback style like Warden's keep. Same.

So many great possibilities and they figure that being a mindless Darkspawn with absolutely 0 RPG and story value is the best way to go. *sigh*

And if Morrigan / Alistair thing is true, I would like to join the Alistairians in a great groop hug, where we all cry and lament Morrigan's suffering.

I do like Berwick!  Not when he's giving you scared-face in the tavern, but later on when he's standing around outside and looks more relaxed.

Yes, I think DEF could do Berwick.  :)
