Yeah, but so many people will probably buy this out of loyalty to the franchise, like I did with Awakening. I knew after they released their first FAQ that I would be disappointed, but I bought it anyway, and now it collects dust.

Awakening broke me of that habit nicely. The lack of interaction, lack of real choices masquerading as choice, and the ending that wasn't all added up to me never buying one of these things automatically out of some kind of loyalty again. If this DLC is any example, I seem to have given them the impression that I will, in fact, buy anything.

Yeah, Awakening broke me of that too. I have seen many people saying they will buy this new DLC basically because it is part of DA. So I think that sales may not be an accurate way to determine what the fanbase truly wants.

It's funny but Alistair fans rarely do bash Zev.  I mean, I bash Leliana, but it's all in good fun.  Sort of.

Oooh, I have a gift for you...Leliana en flambe!

LOL

See, I don't hate Leliana, I'm more apathetic/creeped out.  I only fantastized about taking off her pretty head when I contemplated a DLC that had only her returning.

And today, my concern seems all misplaced.

I'm a total Morrigan fan, but it doesn't really upset me... unless I see Alistair and Morri holding hands or something...

I am to Morrigan as all the Alistairian fan girls combined are to Alistair.
So yes, you can imagine how pissed I am.

It's ok, she's pissed too. "If one more person asks if I'd like a change of clothes, I will set the house on fire!"

I found the best looking elf in the game to be the one you find in the Alienage for the Blackstone Irregulars quest.  *now has it as a preset and used it as a face for her CEM*

He's cute, but a little too young for my taste.  Looks like he's a junior high spitballer.  I do like him, though, for what he says.

I really am coming up empty.  I made an elf male once I thought looked half decent.  Dark haired, strong face, ponytail.  Obviously I like the long hair...  hey, it just occurs to me, no elf scruff, right?

Oh of course, I like Zevran's appearance, but that had to grow on me, too.

I did age him a bit.  And gave him a tattoo, along with changing a few other things.  Leaving him exactly as is would be a bit creepy.

Goddamnit, why am I addicted to these Rob Pattinson songs?!

Hey, remember that Zevran and Alistair were written by the same person. It's like fighting over David Gaider's left nut or right nut. ;)

That....um...wow, I'm going to need a lot of brain bleach for that one. Dave's awesome and all, but...*shudders*

I love when he gives this speech most, when I'm about to be queen. To bad he doesn't mention that. I hate is as an elf, it's rather insulting.

Yes yukidama. Oh yes. I just don't understand why they won't add on to Origins! Even Awakening, though that story left much to be desired. Hell, just add a few Alistair lines post landsmeet involving his new fiance or mistress and I would be overjoyed. 'Or just take the time to fix bugs. But THIS!?

Yeah, it doesn't seem to matter how much we say that we want DLC to expand our understanding of the characters and add to the story directly. That's not getting heard. We could send the same message with purchases, but people, well, they'll take what they can get, if they can't get what they want. That's why I bought Awakening. Not any more though. This is one bridge way too far.

Why not make DLC about what NPCs were doing pre-Origins? That'd be awesome but you know, require real effort and money to pay voice actors and create new environments.

So....who do we need to mame to get heard? I am willing to write some strongly worded letters. I know I have seen Gaider haunting some of the threads that I have posted my problems in. So he must not be in charge.

Uhhh...this new DLC is pretty lame. Adds nothing to the overall story or play experience, just a rather lame-brained stand alone mod. Why would I want to play as some generic darkspawn, really? There's no real role-lay value there, just pure hack n slash.

Really, Bioware must have taken a massive hit in the good ideas department.

It's a peculiar decision. The biggest complaints about DLC have been about a lack of effect the story/relationships, or the limited nature of interaction as a whole. ie RtO.  Then the biggest complaint about Awakening was (again) limited character interaction, and a lack of returning characters. So what's their solution? To bring the characters back, have no interaction, and kill them. Uh...dudes. DLC: You're doing it wrong.

I think the problem is that they created a model for the next generation of games, in terms of storytelling, but they just don't have the funding or time to follow that up properly, or repeat it. Origins may actually have been all we'll get.

SOMEONE who makes sigs! We need this now! DLC: You're doing it wrong!

Not a sig but the best I could came up with in my (fangirl) rage. RAAAWR.

Does anyone else play games like NFS? EA LOVES to push out worthless content and charge for it.

Support the Leliana DLC then!  If that does well, we can probably expect more LI related additions.

Frankly, I'd rather they work on continuing Dragon Age: Journeys than this lame-brained BS. They are doing themselves no favors here.

$ is all the favor they need, because they know people will buy it.

It's idiotic. As if the DA universe has nothing interesting anymore, except for playing a mindless pawn.
A DLC about a Disciple of the Architect, now that is a DLC I would have payed 10-15$ for.
A DLC about Paragon Aeducan, flashback style like Warden's keep. Same.

So many great possibilities and they figure that being a mindless Darkspawn with absolutely 0 RPG and story value is the best way to go. *sigh*

And if Morrigan / Alistair thing is true, I would like to join the Alistairians in a great groop hug, where we all cry and lament Morrigan's suffering.

Or, if they wanted to do a "what if" scenario, how about a what if for the origins themselves like:

What if Bhelen never framed your Aeducan, and Trian still lived, and you were never exiled.
What if Your Brosca succeeded in the duplicity of the provings and was never discovered?
What if the Couslands were never betrayed by Howe?
What if the mage never got involved with Jowan's problems
What if the city elf's wedding went off with a hitch?
What if the Dalish elf and Tamlen never discovered the mirror?

These would be far more interesting "what if" scenarios that "what if your Warden croaked in your joining".

I like the idea of DLC that expands upon the lore and scope of the DA universe, such as your suggestion of a Paragon Aeducan DLC, or something of that nature. This "Darkspawn Chronicles" crap contributes nothing worthwhile. I'd get more immersion playing Super mario brothers. At least there my mindless canned character gets to eat pretty magic mushrooms and chuck turtles of doom around.
