I guess more info would have just been nice. But I don't want to change things up too much, something I keep telling jokers on Nexus that want me to change this and that to be more like ADP.

Sorry no new Alistair screenshots.

Initially, I'd assumed that these things were left open as things that would be referred to or used in future expansions, but given that Awakening had nothing to do with the story in Origins.... I have to think that was the initial plan, to expand the main story. I'm wondering if something changed, a lack of funding to pay actors, or something technical, because it makes no sense to leave dangling plotlines all over the place and not use them.

All of the ending slideshow cards are stupid IMO. I did a vote in this very thread on what people wanted changed in this slide, and everyone wanted it left alone, they just wanted me to remove Anora. I fixed the gray warden ones too, I forgot about that and need to put it up on my project page. I personally can't understand why he would be called away if he is king, but I got outvoted.

The question I have about that slide is:  What allegiance does the King of Ferelden owe to Weisshaupt?

Answer:  Sod all.

They better have a very good reason for "summoning" him, i.e. he better want to go of his own accord rather than out of some dumb Grey Warden loyalty thing.  At least, that will certainly be the argument around my femCousland's breakfast table.

See, the problem is that this is like a default card. This appears whether he is king or not, if the warden chooses to stay in Denerim. I think they ran out of money and time and forgot to add the other slides.

LadyDamodred wherever you are, I think you are the one who wrote the grey warden slide changes I made, and I can't remember what I did, I need you before I update my project page.

Theres definitely a he never left her side slide, and I've seen it in one of my non-warden endings but I'll be damned if I can remember which one.

He's still a Grey Warden, and he's still all about duty. He was willing to die as a Grey Warden and let Anora take the throne. He still feels an allegience. You only get that slide if you did the Dark Ritual, I believe, so it's implied that answers are being demanded. While he may have let the PC lead, he was still the senior Grey Warden, so it makes sense that they would summon him. He may also be going in an effort to protect the PC. This would be the same whether he was king or not.

It would make more sense for him to go if he wasn't king than if he is.  As king, he has more important things to do than run off at Weisshaupt's beck and call.

Ah well, it's just my RP perspective.  My HNF would have told Mistress Woolsey to bugger off if she had had that option.  It's not like they give a fig about Ferelden as a country, and in fact since we're told that they're closely allied to Anderfels politics, I suspect their motives for interfering at all.

The only time I got that is if my PC left to rebuild the Grey Wardens and he eventually came to join her and "never left her side."

That sounds in character but I still can't see my PC not going after him.  Anyway, the Wardens aren't going to get anything out of him except "Morrigan saved us!  And no, I don't know what she did or where she went..."

I keep telling myself they're holding it for a sequel. Maybe awakening was a quick way to get the changed darkspawn, and architects work introduced, and introduce more of Ferelden. I'm sure we aren't done with talking darkspawn, there were still some left. One of the little suckers may have learned some tricks. Also, unwisely I fed the "maternal instincts" troll. I hate guys that think emotion/grief= unmanly.

Oh Awakening was a story disaster, just like I feared it would be. The only way I will play through now is as Queen Cousland. I was ok with the warden's US not being supported, but when I played all the way through Awakening only to find out that Alistair sacrificing himself isn't supported either, I was pissed. If they didn't plan on supporting that ending, then perhaps they shouldn't have included it. If they would have done something as simple as given us a codex, or a letter, or SOMETHING from our old comrades, I think even that would have been tolerable. I do plan to create a HNM and spare Loghain/marry Anora just to see that, but afterwards I have 0 urge to play Awakening. Which sucks because a couple of the characters are awsome. I say we need a mod that replaces Wynne in Origins with Anders.

And I wouldn't be surprised if they ran out of money for actors. I'll never understand why companies hire big time voice actors, it may look good at first, but then for sequels you have to keep paying them, and EA is cheap IMO.

Morning everyone. I'm too tired to read everything I missed. Regarding the HNF Queen ending I always stay w/ him in Denerim and for a boon I choose to honor the Grey Wardens. If he leaves at all it's just to go to Highever to build a memorial for Duncan. I don't recall ever getting any cards regarding Weisshaupt. I doubt this impacts it but I always tell him that the DR will bare a child. When he brings it up again at the end I tell him to tell the Wardens that they were wrong. When he asks about Morrigan I tell him that I'm glad she is gone and that I have no plans to follow her.

Serissia-I used to miss these cards, they are seperate than the good ones at the beginning. The Weisshaupt one is set to play if the player remains in Denerim, regardless of whether Alistair is king or not. I was shocked when I went into the toolset and found out it wasn't a bug.

It's probably a programming bug.  The script is checking to see if Alistair was in love w/ you before it's checking to see if he did the US thus you get the card for love instead.

Yes, it's possible that I missed it.  It's also possible that I deemed it irrelevant in my mind and thus ignored it.  I couldn't tell you what 90% of the Awakening epilogues said.  I felt most of the epilogue cards were incredibly irrelevant to my Warden and this era.

I wish I could access the Awakening slides in the toolset.

Agree with you on the irrelevance. Awakening had an OK story, but it feels like a seperate game completely.

Awakening epilogue card: A million years from now someone was inspired by magical cod piece that Wade crafted from the finest ogre foreskin and thus a new order of knights arose.

That'd be an awesome epilogue card! If only...

Ogre foreskin. Yummy. I have a fear however that this "silver knights" thing is going to be the center for DA2, without our warden. *duck* Otherwise, why even bring it up?

I thought that was hundreds of years in the future?  I honestly don't remember.

seems kind of odd...I think maybe the order starts sooner with the farmer turned knight and then LASTS for a 1000 years?

Of course, the PC goes after him!  It just says that he swore to return, not that she didn't catch up to him at the first camp and give him a smack upside the head for trying to go alone! :)

Probably only brought up because you did the quest to get the materials to wade. I mean they include Dagna's quest in the origins slides if you complete it, they mention your sword being stolen if you complete the quest to have it made. It doesn't need to mean anything for the future, just a mention of the effect of your choices,

Yeah thats what I thought. Personally I am not so sure I want them to continue the warden's story. Awakening doesn't inspire much confidence from me.

Teagan is so awesome, he fights without a shield and only a longsword!
