Seriously, did they fire their team or something? It's like different people are in charge now. Maybe the original ones are working on DA2 while lesser beings are working on this DLC? One can only hope.

LadyJess- Did you steal his shield? I think he has one for me, I'll have to actually beat the game sometime soon to find out. It's like when LadyDamodred sent me her file and Arl Eamon was using his fists to help fight the archdemon. He remembered his shield, but no sword.

seems kind of odd...I think maybe the order starts sooner with the farmer turned knight and then LASTS for a 1000 years?

Yeah thats what I thought. Personally I am not so sure I want them to continue the warden's story. Awakening doesn't inspire much confidence from me.

I bought it, I'll play each of my characters through it. After last night, I pretty much thing returning to the GW was canon. I still think they have bigger plans, and awakening was a quick way to introduce things. Sentient darkspawn, amaranthine, etc. it wasn't done cleanly at all. But the companions are fun, the quests are quick, and you get to experience being a noble...more than just in name. At least with my HNF I could make my origins ending mesh right into it, with the added bit about the howe's paying. The rest of my girls...well Wardens first. It's certainly not the only xpac we'll get, and it's definitely not a sequel. The original game isn't even a year old yet I don't think, and as someone pointed out, if we're getting this dlc based on those people wanting it, well there's hope.

After all, you give the darkspawn to the ones that want to play them FIRST, then they can't all get in a snit when the rest come out that WE want. ^_^

Nope, I've never seen him with a shield in that scene.

Some of bioware's dev team are collaborating with lucasarts on the star wars MMO. Which should mean xtra $$$$ which also, while it may make DA releases slow, mean better things in the future.

He doesn't need one. He keeps the Darkspawn at bay with sheer awesome BannPower!Posted Image

Hmmm, maybe you are right. Again I haven't actually BEAT the game in some time. As far as Awakening goes, just adding some more character interation would have made worlds of difference. The ending hasn't changed much my 2 or 3 times through. It seems rushed at certain points, for instance after recruiting the last person you go back to the keep and bang it's final battle time, so the last person doesn't get the joining. The powers are cool, the characters for the most part are cool, but it offered little in the way of continuity. I feel satisfied that I have seen everything it has to offer me. (minus the HNM)

One of the biggest problems aside from the dialogue change and the abrupt ending in Awakening was the fact that there isn't enough infomation given about The Mother or The Arcitect.  Reading TC made Awakening vastly more coherent for me.

See, thats what I have heard. So after I read the books, then I should be able to  understand it more. I didn't feel educated enough about the Architect, so I sided with him and I still don't know if that is the right decision.

All of the ending slideshow cards are stupid IMO. I did a vote in this very thread on what people wanted changed in this slide, and everyone wanted it left alone, they just wanted me to remove Anora. I fixed the gray warden ones too, I forgot about that and need to put it up on my project page. I personally can't understand why he would be called away if he is king, but I got outvoted.

The question I have about that slide is:  What allegiance does the King of Ferelden owe to Weisshaupt?

Answer:  Sod all.

They better have a very good reason for "summoning" him, i.e. he better want to go of his own accord rather than out of some dumb Grey Warden loyalty thing.  At least, that will certainly be the argument around my femCousland's breakfast table.

See, the problem is that this is like a default card. This appears whether he is king or not, if the warden chooses to stay in Denerim. I think they ran out of money and time and forgot to add the other slides.

LadyDamodred wherever you are, I think you are the one who wrote the grey warden slide changes I made, and I can't remember what I did, I need you before I update my project page.

Do you need the file?

Also, how does I get me the improved Tamlen face?  Did seri upload it or do I need a send?

Also, I always get the Weisshaupt thing b/c Alistair is always king and I always do the DR.  Toolset can confirm what you're supposed to see.

No Lady, I have the file, but no B2B so I can't load it in the toolset. I just can't remember the exact changes.

I almost sided w/ him my first play through since his argument seemed solid.  The problem is if you read TC you find out he has a horrid track record of things actually working out the way he envisioned them.  I won't say more since you haven't read the book yet.

TC > TST as far as reading enjoyment imo.  I had trouble getting through TST.

Okay, lemme run an epilogue save so I can see it.  I believe all it was was deleting the Anora reference out.

See, what gets me about the Architect, is that he says that he went to the vigil to "talk" and did not anticipate the warden's seeing that as an assault. My issue is what the talking darkspawn dude says when you bump in to him on top of the keep. He says "It has ended just as he predicted."

Lady-We tweaked the grey warden ones too, remember? I forgot about that, and didn't add it to the project page. And now I can't remember what was tweaked. I know it wasn't too major.

Playing as a mage with Anders has an added bonus, he not only remembers you, but in conversations talks to you AS a mage.

Nathaniel and a human noble is very good. He was really written well in general.

The seneschal has some really good lines about your past with the right conversation options, and Mistress Woolsey will reference Warden's keep if you talk through her dialog choices. I think it's when you ask why Weisshaupt is interested. (hmm...wonder if THAT is why Alistair gets called to Weisshaupt...to discuss the new warden base in his kingdom?)

Sigrun...oh she's just adorable, I loved her. She has special interactions with dwarves I believe (?)

I hate Velanna, but when I have a dalish I'll recruit her to see if there's anything there. I know for a city elf there didn't seem to be. Or I forget.

I played through it once quickly at release and found the bugs, so when I went through it again I knew more how to do things to avoid them, and that really helps. Recruit Justice or Velanna last (Or as I do, I don't always recruit Velanna, her reasoning turns me off). Don't do the Law and Order quests until Sigrun's quest is done. How quickly you're in the final battle WAS a shock at first. But you're dealing with Darkspawn that can plot and plan, it makes sense they'd hit when you weren't expecting it.  I was mad after my first playthrough. My ending slide with Zev was all wtfery, and it went too fast. But I found it more enjoyable the second time.

Hrm.  My epilogue still shows the Anora part, so I'm not sure what's going on.  Did we discuss this in pm?

The architect is a liar, liar, liar. He also says that he didn't kill the Orlesian wardens, and yet we find one in the mine, beaten to the point of death.

I spared him once and justice tried to kill me...lol

My second time though, I killed him and the mother. Dude already caused the blight I had just finished ending, no way was he getting a second try:D

As for the assault, he can speak, and reason, but he he doesn't know enough about how humans/gray wardens think and feel to accurately gauge their response to the visit, he took a risk, and it didn't work. Much like he took the risk that started the blight.

Ahah! Good point! I was suspicios of him because of what I said earlier, but now I think siding with him might really be a bad thing.

If for no other reason than when the next expansion or xpac is released we don't know which end game save it will use. I just figure I'll make sure each of my girls have an end save from both...lol

edit: top of the page
