It's hard to say 'no woman has etc' it doesn't flow trippingly off the tongue like 'no one has etc' ;)

Not to mention even if they did have him say "no woman", people would still go "Hey, does that mean a man did make him feel like that?" It's one of these damned when you do, damned when you don't things  Posted Image

Yes, that was my thought as well. ;)

My interpretation was that he wasn't just talking about the sexy times...the PC makes him feel loved, accepted, and wanted in a way he never expected to experience.

And this, too....
But mostly, you don't give actors lives that are hard to say. It makes them stumble, curse you, or change the line. ;)

I wondered where you got that hair! Oh and you could be the first to offer tats for both cheeks, I hate when I have a hairstyle I love, AND a tat I love, but it's only available on ONE cheek, always the one the poofy hair covers...lol

And curse whoever post that kiss, I'm trying to NOT keep romancing Alistair, and it's really effing hard!:P

I've noticed almost all of the REN hair covers the left side of the face so, I'm doing mostly right side tattoos.  Once my package is done if there's one in particular that you want altered for both sides I can do it for you.

Well, I'm not sure if this is the one you're thinking of, but tmp the wonder modder has one for elves in his elf proportions fix and one for HF here.

I like those they are NICE!

I think they couldn't do this or else they would spoiler you for his identity. I mean, I'm amazed I didn't see it anyway on my first playthrough, but having the same hair type as Cailan would have made it crystal clear. I also think they deliberately never put Cailan and Alistair in the same shot (like in the strategy meeting, where it would be logical for Cailan to ask Alistair to be present as well as your PC, since he intended to send him to the tower).

I guessed when he said that he was a bastard and that Eamon took him in when he didn't have to. That, plus the lack of a clear heir and the fact that he was good, handsome, and handy with a sword fairly screamed 'bastard heir to the throne.'

Has anyone actually got Alistair to agree to marry them when he is hostile? Because I heard you can, but what I'm reading in the toolset it would be an automatic failure.

I thought he had to be at least nuetral for that option.  I like angry Alistair, not hostile Alistair.  Ejoslin might be able to tell you?

I'm pretty sure that once he hits hostile there's no marrying him. ejoslin tried and failed.

Yeah thats what I am reading. He actually says "Good choice" if he isn't in love and unhardened. Hmmm. He's not getting hardened this time through. Apparantly "In love" is an automatic persuade sucess regardless of him being hardened or not. So my strategy guide needs to be burnt. I put all those cunning points on my warrior for nothing. Bastards.

About the requested bugs, I'm not seeing any. Could anyone point me in the right direction? I don't see problems.

You can.  He needs to be hardened though, so it's not so simple.  The best way to do it (if not using the console) is get his approval up high enough with gifts to be able to do his personal quest, harden him.  Start the romance, when he gives the rose, say to him, "So you give me a flower? Brilliant plan."  This drops him to 0 neutral no matter how high the approval was before.  Then be nasty to him and do all sorts of things he disapproves of.

Can't do it. I dumped him with my current noble, but he's still in love, which doesn't appear to change the landsmeet much. I want to try to Zevran on the side thing.

Yeh, an unhardened Alistair will refuse to marry a warden he's hostile to.  It actually surprises me the level of detail they put into having dialog on that REALLY hard to get status of hardened and hostile and getting married, YET they left all sorts of hideous bugs in.  Grrrrrrrrr.  I have them for the most part repaired (I'm pretty sure).  But it's weird how they focused on stuff that most people will never see, but yet the stuff most people will see doesn't run properly in the vanilla game.

This was long ago. I don't have anyone past curing Eamon now. But yes I use that mod. First thing I have to do is respec Alistair to get rid of his Templarhood. Otherwise my game crashes when he uses those 2 AoE powers.

I finally decided to run the elf one and I'm pleased with it.  I actually prefer the bustier look, but the more proportional arms and hands + fuller hips is a win.

I worked out a lot of bugs there; I'm not sure which bugs you're referring to.  It was a complete mess, though.  If someone is using ZDF and sees bugs, I'd REALLY appreciate knowing about them.  I mainly focused on the political marriage part, but when sorting that out, I did a lot of other cleanup.

Edit: There were a lot of responses defaulting to hostile inappropriately.  I'm pretty sure I sorted all that out.  The problem stemmed from both the party_events.dlg and from the genpt_alistair_defined.ncs.  I may have missed some things, but I did a lot of checking there.

There is a line that doesn't trigger in there, and I could not get it to trigger.  That's the one bug I can think of that I was unable to fix.  It's a strange one.  But I may have missed others.  I went through those dialogs many times, but that doesn't mean I  got them all for sure!

Ejoslin- I am unsure exactly what bugs they are referring to. klarabella wrote one in my group, but I think she said that it was while running ADP. She said that she was getting an "unhardened" line that should have been "hardened".

Ah, that I can't help with.  I don't know how she fixed her post-landsmeet bugs.  I'm fairly sure I have that all sorted out, but it's always possible I missed something.  All I know is it's WAY better than it was.  *grin* It drove me crazy all the hostile responses that Alistair gave.  Like when saying, "I'd be an excellent queen" the warden would always get the hostile response.  Stuff like that, I fixed.  I didn't notice a hardened Alistair giving unhardened responses, though, when testing, but I wasn't really checking for those either.

Edit: When I was testing the post-landsmeet stuff, I did notice that hardened Alistair gave me a few pleasant surprises. So who knows -- cleaning up the script seemed to have a positive effect.

So you did fix that? Oh you are awsome. I am playing through with him at friendly, and I was worried I would get the hostile responses and my wittle heart would break.

As far as ADP, I don't think she fixed anything at the landsmeet, so that is likely the problem. So you know, before my reformat I have played through a few different Alistair scenareos and things are working great! Posted Image

Posted Image  He is very solemn in that discussion.  For instance, if you say "you don't have to thank me," he'll answer "yes, I do actually."  I know people harp on the creepy eyes in the end part of the vanilla tent scene, and I guess I can see what they're talking about- it is hard for pixels to convey the depth of someone's expression, though it's scary how well they can sometimes.  But anyway, I imagine that this is generally what he is thinking in that shot.  "I can't believe she's really here."

While I was playing around with the breakup scenario last night, I was also trying different lines at the gates.  I really liked the one where if you leave him at the gates you can tell him "I don't want you doing anything foolish on my behalf."  He responds, "You know me too well, don't you?"  This is after the breakup, so it reflects the still_in_love flag, I guess.  Anyway, it was sweet.  And in fact, predictive, if you don't do the DR and someone has to take the final blow.

In general, you get better dialogue if you leave him at the gates.  Same thing used to happen with Zevran.  It's kind of cruel.
