Yes, the earring is actually part of the haircut model so it gets affected by the hair tint. So it's gold with blonde hair but darker with Duncan's hair colour.Serissia wrote...
I thought Duncan's earring was darker and Ander's was gold.
Ahh ok thank you. And because I failed at Top O' The Page...Some goodness. Stabbity stabbing the prisoner at Ostagar in front of Alistair. With my newly remodeled Dalish. Hopefully she looks more wicked this time. Poor templar's got his hands full. Question is...if she's as vindictive as I think, would she stick around the man she loves as mistress and rules be damned? Or would she let him break it off and go to Zev. I think the first...poor zev.
Lol I love when PC's are acting outside the box. I think your Dalish PC and my Dalish PC would get along just perfectly. Total mind sisters.Ever stabbity stabbity done on the wounded soldier in the wilds? Alistair's reaction is priceless
Ohhh...I never tried that. Hmmm I wonder how good Alistair is at taming shrews.

You don't think that sounds at all sexist? "Oh, she's mean so she needs to be 'tamed' by the brave, kind man"? It makes her sound more like a pet (which should especially rankle for an elf) than an equal partner.Ohhh...I never tried that. Hmmm I wonder how good Alistair is at taming shrews.

The easiest way to do it is to have all of your chargenmorph.xml files in seperate folders than use CharGenMorph Compiler to combine them into one file w/ all the info.

Ohhh...I never tried that. Hmmm I wonder how good Alistair is at taming shrews.Seriously b!tchy and mean+zevran is too obvious I think, but shrew+alistair sounds yummy. I mean you CAN both romance him and make him mad, it would be like having little fights! Like normal couples!
Excuse me while I exclaim in squee. Finally someone understand my appeal with FemDalish elves and Alistair. And I don't mean the eyelashing oh you are so right- Alistair giggling types, but more the STAB STAB KILL- triggerhappy, sassy sorts of DEF, who make Alistair exclaim in horror at her actions and give him a headache more than once. Threatening the revered mother in Lothering was never more fun
Good times.
Granted she will change during her journey and experience, but never will revert to the real hero in a stereotypical way. It's so much fun to see Alistair despairing but slowly taming her with...well being Alistair at the same time. And yes I love a RS having fire and passion with an arguement here and there. Agreeing on everything is boring. Period.
Lenya really spoiled me for other origins and beyond, I fear. Can't play another Dalish elf than her. It just would feel so, so wrong

First, no...I'm a woman, I'm hard to get along with, stubborn, outspoken, and have a terribad temper plus the lovely bi-polar disorder my grandmother gave me in her genes. My husband of 17 years has had to put up with ALOT of b!tch in the last 17 years, and has done so with kindness, patience, and alot of love. I don't see myself as his pet, I see him as loving me unconditionally, he's never "tamed" me he loves me in spite of all of my flaws. which is what an equal partner does. But it sure as heck did take a very special, and yes brave man to stick it out through the hardest times.
Second, it was a joke, about her personality
Third it's just another way to rp a GAME from an angle I have yet to try. I've played little miss polite goody two shoes every single time. And I don't see why MY Dalish wouldn't be hateful and vindictive, she didn't WANT to join the wardens, she doesn't WANT to be around humans, in fact she killed the three in her origin story. As far as she's concerned it's the humans fault Tamlen went to that cave, touched the mirror, got her sick, and lead to being dragged kicking and screaming to Ostagar. It's going to take someone showing her kindness, and gentleness, and patience to soften her edges. I fail to see how that's any worse than hardening Alistair. Aren't we in effect trying to save HIM from himself when we do that?

I'm not advocating playing a goody-goody, it's just the use of the word 'tame.' You tame dogs. You tame horses. You tame animals. Since elves are seen as largely sub-human in Thedas why would a Dalish be cool with the concept of being 'tamed'?Lady Jess wrote...

As far as hardening Alistair goes you just convince him to stand up for himself more. If you had a character that, say, Morrigan convinced to stand up for herself more then it wouldn't be considered 'taming' so no it's hardly the same thing.
And being a woman yourself does not preclude a remark that a '****y Dalish girl' needs to be 'tamed' from being sexist.

THIS! I'm sure she'll soften a little towards humans, and all that jazz in her journey. But I am so tired of playing this game as a goody two shoes. I don't intend to be pure evil on wheels here, but good lord what kind of relationship spends the entire period walking on eggshells, keeping their actions in line with some guys expectations? To me, THAT is subordinate. I just once want to end the game, with Alistair beside me, having EARNED our relationship, road bumps, hairy moles, warts, and all.

My problem isn't that the character might go around randomly killing people, it's the impication that something is wrong with her so she needs a man to 'tame' her and then they can be happy together.THIS! Heh, this is part of why I love the DEF-Alistair pairing as well. I'm starting another myself, having just replayed my first DEF's game prior to my current mage character. It is the very prickly corners and juxtapositions that make it interesting, the same way the mage-templar tensions make it exciting.Merilsell wrote...

And a bit of a challenge. I'm in Ostagar and just got -11 on my first conversation with Alistair. I don't think my DEF will be quite as fiery as yours, but I RPed her as having been lovers with Tamlen, so she is hurting and angry.

Well thats how it was meant, but I found the reference to the play amusing. I actually enjoyed it when we read it in high school, and watched it, and it's incarnations (kiss me kate, 10 things I hate about you, which i didn't hear anyone call sexist as they watched Heath Ledger). I'm sure some men would find our NBA pics in this thread sexist too, but it's supposed to be all in good fun.

Maricstair looks too old. Not that I have a problem with older men, but he looks older than his character is supposed to be. Now if Gaider intended him to be older, then yes, I would stick Duncan's beard on him. But that hairstyle would still be a no go.
Scruff is good for 21 year old Alistair, though.

Scruff is good for 21 year old Alistair, though. There are no complexion changes to the mod. If he looks older, it's only because vanilla Alistair will look older with longer hair and scruffyface. That is not changing the character. He's still 21. He's a 21 year-old who looks (a little) older than his age. You can't say having long hair with braids is "wrong" while having a ponytail is not. If you're going to change his hairstyle and facial hair at all, then any change is game. If it's just not your preference, that's your thing.
Maricstair killed my puppy!
advice for those wise enough to listen: when you're drunk(ish), do not edit your chargemorph file. i totally broke it, lol

She got -1 for saying "maybe we're just smarter than you" about women in the Grey Wardens, and the big -10 was for saying she doesn't want to be a Grey Warden. I might go back and re-do that, though, because it's really intended to mean you've been conscripted. In my DEF's case, she protested a little, but was not going to let the shemlen see her whine and cry when her keeper was telling her it was her duty. She just figures (much like my city elf did) that she'll die soon and all will be well.Lady Jess wrote...
