That's a bit unfair, I think. To be told that and also to paint feminists with the man hating, family/childless brush. It's not about putting anyone down but rather trying to equalize gender perception... what one chooses to do with their life is their business and feminism is about having the choice to be a stay at home mom rather than it being the default for women. I dunno. It's too late for this discussion and my head hurts.
Yeah, I have to agree with yukidama on this. My job pretty much hinges on feminism being something that makes life better for everyone by addressing underlying issues that affect everyone. I do as much work on behalf of women who stay at home (their partners being employees at my institution) as I do on behalf of women who work full-time jobs. I'm about as feminist as they come, and I would never look down on a stay at home parent of either gender.
