Question: What does siding w/ Zath actually do? You just slaughter the werewolves and the Lady? Does it still break the curse?

It does cure the Dalish, Zathrian rewards you, and helps you fight Archie. It changes up the ending a bit as well. You are given MANY chances to change your mind, you really have to stick to your guns. I found killing Witherfang easier than fighting Zathrian.

Oh I need to do that this time.

See, I have the tendancy to play the same way each time. I thought with my last Dalish (which sadly got deleted) I should side with Zathrian. As far as party approval, I had Ste, who was neutral I believe, Morrigan who approves, and Orghren who also approves, I think. Actually I don't really remember about Ogrhren. I still need to side with the Templars, kill Isolde, and side with Branka. I have never done those things.

Lol, Lady Jess, you are just like me.

I think I may just scrap the HNF warrior idea. I already have a queen ending anyhow. Hy human mage has the warden ending, my CEF has Zev, And I currently have my Elven mage and Dalish rogue to finish. Mage will probably be mistress, Dalish will probably end without romance. And I have another HNF that spared Loghain (too bad Zev's romance flags were all gone with her by the end). Not much left...lol

Oh I have to have a Queen Cousland somewhere. My Dalish romances Alistair but he becomes Archie food, my CE will romance Zev, my human mage will be *groans* mistress, and my elven mage runs off to rebuild the wardens with Alistair.

I might replay my HNF spare loghain one. She was a rogue, not a warrior though. I just HATE the hair clipping in massive armor but I want to play as S&S this time.  The bloody runic armor looks nice (it doesn't have the griffons which is a plus for starting out), but has no matching shield unfortunately.

I usually do the middle ground where he willingly gives up his life after the fight.

Thats what I always did prior to this. But you still have to fight him. If you have "dispel" and can free Witherfang, she whoops his a** pretty effectively.

Some of those I won't do. I won't side with the Templars or Branka. I frequently kill Isolde (especially on an elf of either origin) but I've never sided with the werewolves. It would fit my Dalish to do it though. Since she is naturally going for the Dalish treaty first, and is not yet willing to listen to reason.

There is no greater feeling than using a deathblow against a mage who has frozen you repeatadly, cast "misdirection" on you, and frustrated you beyond belief. Especially if they cast the death hex and make me do that hated "head bop"

I love throwing down Glyph of Neutralization to cancel their spell and then Crushing Prisoning them.

Oh me too, I hate the freaking spellcasters!

Sending Dog or a ranger pet to Overwhelm them takes some of the sting out.  Literally and figuratively.

Heh, that is if I am a mage.  As a warrior, it frustrates me beyond believe. The best thing to do as a mage is mana clash, assuming your PC won't CTD like mine will.

I don't tank, because swinging is too slow. I keep Al at sword and board tank.

I've never taken the mana related spells.  There doesn't seem to be enough mages in the game to make it worth while.

My AW is S&S atm and it doesn't seem too bad.  I get 110 white damage crits so probably around 50-60 normally w/o runes/wpn spell.

I like tanking, actually. But when I tank, Alistair goes 2H, not deul wield. I don't know why I didn't like playing that way. Plus I wanna tackle and take advantage of him whenever he does the deathblow I posted above.

(btw, I meant tanking 2H isn't good because of the slow swinging. Sorry about the wording)

I can understand a little coloring around the eyes to make the eyes themselves stand out but I don't understand why many of the core female heads have to have hooker makeup.

When I took my CEF through awakening the first time, I tanked as a DW warrior. Threaten, and taunt, plus whirlwind = hellafun.

I NEVER tank with anything but S and S. But I guess I play differently. Yes you can become pretty defensive with any combo, but there are certain defensive skills only available to sword and board. If I deul weild or 2H, I always DPS.

I'm just discovering how sexy Alistair's Whirlwind is.  Something else to make those long treks through the Deep Roads a bit more entertaining.  :wizard:

Mana clash is great at certain points in the game- like during the Sacred Ashes quest when the Cultist Mages are casting Misdirection Hexes all hither and yon and neutralizing my melee fighters.

In Awakening I have Anders open with Mana Clash and/or Virulent Walking Bomb. I'll bet his damage output far exceeds my PC's by the end.

Yes, the proportions fix has more up-to-date version of the dalish armour included for elves and humans. I left the Dalish fix still listed only because it also fixes the dwarf version of the armour.

My current mage is an anti-mage specialist, but I just took that for RP reasons.  It's frustrating that you have to take 3 nearly worthless spells to get to Mana Clash, but considering it's a sureshot kill for an enemy mage, it sure is satisfying.

Unfortunately the tactics are screwed up- I have her set to Mana Clash nearest visible mage, but apparently if she sees a mage anywhere on the horizon, she just throws Mana Clash on the closest genlock.

Awakening certainly increases the stakes for having anti-magic abilities.

Damn this sucks. Am I the only one who can't use mana clash without their PC crashing? I LOVE that spell but I can't use it. My new mage is a supportive/healing mage, and mana clash would be most handy.

It seems to happen more for me with Ali's templar abilities, Cleanse and Holy Smite.

Top of the page Smite coming right up...

Might be a Cleanse, actually.
