You know, I really wish there was the dialogue line that would reflect what my HNF would actually be thinking at that moment.

"F*ck you, no!  You do not get to this to me, to us!  So, f*ck you and your duty!  I am not going anywhere, and we are getting married and if you even look at me sideways I will f*cking gut you!  *kisses*"

Hahaha, yes! My PCs don't go down without a fight. Not that it really matters since they never stay broken up, but I'd imagine some of my more.... feisty PCs would need to have their weapons forcefully removed from their person during this scene.

By that point in my game, my HNF is done with all the bullsh*t.  DONE!  She calms down afterwards, but she is so stressed and so fed up with what's happened that she would lose her goddamn mind on Alistair at that point.  XD

I suppose they really do hate each other.  I mean that is basically a death sentence for poor Morri.

It makes me wonder about the new DLC a bit though.  Before that I was almost  buying in to the whole sexual tension theory (as much as I HATE the thought of them together...), but if he'd basically throw her under the bus like that I wonder how they manage to stay together without the Warden?

I think without the Warden, Alistair would rise to the occassion and take help where ever he could.  After all, he lived because Flemeth and Morrigan saved him, so he probably wouldn't drive her off.  He's all alone at that point.  And after that, well, I don't think he would be an ass and would do his best to get along.  As for Morrigan, she can't leave until she gets what she wants, so she would probably suck it up, grit her teeth and soldier on.

Hmm, so in a way, the warden being there allows them to be extra vocal about their animosity.  Without the warden... maybe they could become BFFs?!

Edit:  aww damn it...

Ooh topic relevant pic!  Alistair riding Flemeth (hot right?)

And no, not BFFs.  But with the Warden they have someone else binding them together and making things work.  Unless they hate you, in which case there are other issues.

Then again, I have trouble killing Zathrian too, since he is Tuvok. I cried my eyes out when Uriel Septim died.

I'm so glad by the time I played a human noble I knew to land him at the landsmeet, otherwise he'd have dumped me. Which is silly, he could just as easily have a flag that says if king and romancing human noble female/in love then propose! Grrrr.

Some things are just to obvious. Aren't we glad that hardened Alistair has extra lines for a hostile female who wants to marry him?

Edit: ejoslin said so, it basically means that you get his approval up to 71 and then let it crash down to -28 again.

I can't get him to hostile:( I also have trouble finding things in the toolset so I may never know...lol

He asks if you have taken too many blows to the head. I was under the impression in the toolset that if he is below-25, it is automatic failure.

So how are you finding it?  I am curious b/c I know you said the thread helped turn your perceptions around, but actually playing is a whole other kettle of fish.  Is it working for ya?

I actually think this is more IC for a Cousland than the rough leather my rogues usually are stuck in.  Daddy's footsoldiers have better gear than her lady.

Seriously, after all the crap your character has gone through and the metric ****ton of crap they stillhave to dig through? Guuuurlllll... there'd be daggers flying at him at lightspeed, lol. Luckily I am there to mediate (aka reload the crap out of the game, haha).

The sexual tension theory is the stuff of forum posts and fanfiction.  Everything I've heard from the VO notes says "genuine dislike" and nothing about "fighting off the squirrelly".

It's like the reverse of the conventional wisdom that a man and a woman can't be platonic friends.  People think it's impossible for them to actually dislike each other without secret nasty urges.

Yeah that drives me NUTS. Look at the DNF, even though it gets stripped from her, she still starts in a fitting set of armor.

Well, I still haven't actually finished the game with a fem char, though I'm thinking I might actually make it with my CEF (which ironically enough was the least plausable to me when I made that thread).

Actually I find playing her like I would a male PC in dialogue etc can be pretty awesome.  Some of the early ostagar dialogue with Jory/Daveth/Ali was interesting to say the least.  She comes off extremely ballsy, which seems fitting for the storyline I guess.

Plus it is interesting seeing how the party members react differently, (Leliana's hair convo was too  cute!).

Overall it's not as bad as I thought before.  Although the lack of Morri romance makes things a lot less interesting :(

I'm sure it's your "practice armor," but you think you'd at least have a decent set in your room or something, especially with Dad leaving you in charge of the castle.

Sometimes even the Redcliffe defenders have better gear than my crew.  <_<

You know, that's the same reason I cannot find myself playing a male character all the way through. Well, not about Morrigan but the idea that I can't romance Alistair as a male (without mods). I've started so many male characters but they are abandoned in the Origin story. I love Morrigan too (she's my fave after Alistair), but I'm just not really that interested in romancing her.

I suppose I should persevere and go through to the end with a male PC, but I'm more interested in my dwarf at the moment.

I'm still not sure what I'm doing with my HNF. And I'm nervous abut my Dalish (though I think with her attitude she's going to be a favorite for sure). I want to let Alistair break it off after landsmeet, I've never seen the still in love scene at the gates. But I'm nervous havging a romance at love with Zev will mess that up?

The basic premise is my Dalish eventually ...softens, falls in love with Alistair, but Zev has been there for her every time her and Alistair have a fallinng out. Which they will (I'm looking at you Isolde). So when Alistair dumps her out of Duty, Zev picks up the pieces and admits his feelings.

My HNF warrior is so far intnded for Zev, but friendly with Alistair and marrying him to better support him as king.

It's worth it!  Having done 2 ½ of of the 4 romances (not touching Zev), the Morrigan one is the most compelling imo.  I'd do it at least once just to see how it unfolds!

Zev's romance is totally worth doing at least once...he's not what he seems at the outset.

Also, you need it for the overall romance achievement. :P

I enjoyed it, but with a male PC it was more.... how to say it....  there was more distance.  I still felt emotionally involved in the story, to the point that I was dragging my feet not wanting to take him to the DR.  But I can't as naturally relate to a male character as to a female, so immersion is more difficult.  I was often putting myself in Morrigan's shoes, which is also not an easy thing to do since Morrigan is hardly the girl next door.

Zevran's romance really is very deep and engaging.  I couldn't personally do a m/m game, but I enjoyed it very much on my female characters.

This. The Zev romance and character are so much deeper than you can tell on the surface. <3

I guess I'm just a freak, because I did finish a Zev romance once, and though I don't hate him, I didn't find it NEARLY as good as Alistair's.

But yes yukidama, as a male Morrigan's romance is a good one. Leliana not so much.

I prefer Alistair's, but was quite moved by Zev's as well, especially since I knew to refuse the earring the first time.  ;)

Well if I did a Zev romance it would have to be with a fem pc (no M/M for me thx).  But on my fem chars I find it almost impossible to get out of the Leliana hair convo without flirting with her... she's just so adorable there:wub:

Lel's ninja love sabatoged my first 2 of attempts at getting my Alistair unlock too, haha.

I admitadly did this prior to ejoslin's patch, but I still don't really feel compelled to do it again. I went the dump Alistair route with me recent human noble, and was going to marry him while keeping Zev on the side, but I just can't get into it anymore. So I started over AGAIN. My CEF will go after him, I think. I still have to romance Alistair regardless, because I can't let him lose his virginity to Morrigan.

Good to see this thread back in motion. You all make me proud :')
Plus, nothing like having a fight with your gf, then spending time with Alistairian fanatics to cool off.

Anyways

"A good one"? That's it?
Morrigan's romance is THE romance of the game.
It ranks as first. Alistair ranks as second.
