I find on my AWs that armor, especially medium armor, increases aggro tremendously.  Like you're hanging out a sign that says "please direct all your arrows here."  But, it's something that a destructo-mage must learn to live with one way or another.

I haven't had it on very long, I was just sick of wolves in my face and nothing between them and me but fabric. If I start getting even more aggro, I'll have to figure something out or actually use as tank.

I've never played a pure destructo-mage before, I'm usually very Spirit heavy with the cold line and a couple of low-level entropy skills. Morrigan and Lu will be well-balanced (Morri is going to have some hexes, crowd-control and healing spells :?) then Lu will go into Awakening and join Anders. I'm picturing them as the Prince and Princess of Mayhem and Destruction. I might even try it with just them and perhaps Nate/Sigrun on a rotating basis.

Ok, I don't want to compare them as romantic partners guys. I just have trouble getting into Zevrans romance, and it's a personal thing. I was just asking if maybe I'm doing something wrong with it, because others seem to like it so much. I really don't see it's appeal. I wouldn't say such a thing if I had not tried the romance at all, thats not my way. Just like I don't like deul wield Alistair, I have tried and didn't like it.
I don't find it sweet that he can't say he loves you. I may die in this battle.

Oh it's fine, like in real-life relationships, who knows what really attracts certain people to others?  I can't get the Leliana attraction at all, but she has plenty of devotees.  I just get nervous in comparison discussions.  Once bitten and all that.

I found I could connect to the character when I had a PC that I thought "got" him, my CEF.  For me, at least, once I've been able to empathize with my own PC in a situation, that opens up that story to me.  Like there are certain parts of the game I've never been able to play because I can't see my PC there (sparing Loghain, defiling the ashes).

Well, I'm definately with you on the Leliana thing. I have romanced her with both a male and female, and as a female I just hated it. With a male it was OK I guess. I have spared Loghain, I have also never defiled the ashes. I have never sided with the Templars, the werewolves, and I have never killed Connor or Isolde.

Quick modding question if anyone knows. Am I limited to 8 preset faces? There are two different mods with present faces -- one has 8 and the other one has 2. Would I be able to rename the latter two to 09 and 10 so they can all show up in CC or do I have to pick my favorite 8 faces and be content with that?

Oddly enough, I'm having the most fun romancing Zevran with my current CEF.  She is still absurdly naive and hopelessly romantic after everything she's been through.  And she gets that Zevran is very much not like that, but she can't stop being herself.  After the first sexytime she asked about love and I always rp that Zevran is like "Oh, Maker, what have I gotten myself into?".  It will be very rewarding when her faith in the goodness of people is realized in Zevran.

But, yeah, some romances just don't appeal to people.  *coughLelianacough*

Surely:  If you'd like, pm and I can give you my take on what you're trying for.  If nothing else, discussing it might give you a better grasp on what you're going for.

I have 30. I can tell you how to do it if you want. (Had to go do a quick count) Are you referring to Bidelle's?

My blood mage Sula completely corrupted Anders, but they were an awesome team.   I think even he would come around and see the light on blood magic when he sees all those darkspawn emissaries and see how effective it is against them.

And I don't understand that myself.
I mean my fanatical devotion to Morrigan is unquestioned, but I have enjoyed a Leliana romance. I don't know, I thought the romance was meaningful in many ways (no where near Morrigan's).

And in some ways, she is similar to Alistair (except I tolerate that more in girls than in guys, sorry just me). She is insecure, somewhat immature, naive despite being a bard, loves to be loved in an almost unhealthy way...etc. A very flawed being and that's appealing.
And the femme fatale in disguise just gets to me, in a good way.
I think she was good at manipulation because she is easy to manipulate, if that makes sense.

But I don't know why Leliana is not liked that much. She doesn't even begin to comapre with Morrigan, but on the playthroughs where I burn my eyes and become blind so that I can't see Morrigan, I pick Leliana and enjoy it.

No, not Bidelle's.

I love this mod -- VirusCats Preset Replacement -- all the dwarven faces are great and I want to keep those. Her files go from df_cps_p01.mop all the way up to #8.
http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=1181

I ALSO want the A Male and Female Dwarf Preset (the male dwarf is RAWR).
http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=1192

I was hoping that if I named the above files to #9, I could get them all to show up in CC, but I only see the ones from VirusCats' mod. So was wondering if I was limited to just 8 faces.

Edit: YAAAAAAAAY. A friend PMed me -- explained that I merely needed to edit the changemorph files. Phew. I am HAPPY HAPPY NOW.

So, out in the Deep Roads now and for amusement I started controlling Alistair instead of my PC, mainly because I like listening to his fetch lines better than my PC's.  But as I'm going along I find that it subtly changes the gameplay and I've decided that I'm going to turn it into an RP thing, that Alistair is leading these expeditions.  RP-wise I never play it that my PC is "in charge" anyway, rather that the two Wardens are a team.

I'm just rambling but it's amazing how little things like that can change gameplay and make even familiar areas different.

I really should come up with an IC reason why Alistair is wearing Chasind gear.  LOL  You guys are more creative than I am, I bet you could think of something.  Maybe it's his disguise?  Maybe my PC made him wear it so no one would know he's the heir and take a potshot.

Thanks! I'll take you up on that within the next few days. I just found out that I need to be up in about 5 hours, so I'm being forced to retire early this evening.

I'll let Bann Alfstanna's eyebrow express my feelings on having to get up so early during the weekend:

Well for me, if it isn't at least at least mentioned in passing, it doesn't exist. I don't tend to make things up entirely, although there's nothing wrong with that as long as it doesn't contradict things that are. If it's mentioned in passing, but not elaborated on, there's some leeway, and I usually try and find some middle ground. For example, with the 'Alistair sleeping with the dogs' thing, he mentions it more than once, so we can assume that it happened, but not the circumstances surrounding it and he seemed to have been fairly happy until Isolde showed up, so there probably wasn't any actual mistreatment. I would probably do something like giving him a cot near where the dogs were kenneled and having him crawl in with them if he got cold and lonely at night, rather than poor mistreated Alistair was thrown in the kennels.

Crap, I died in the lothering Inn fight, and couldn't figure out why. And I don't mean just died. I mean Morrigan and I fell to the floor as soon as the fight started...I thought it was a knockback...til I saw my portrait.

Why? Because I'm on nightmare.

One last n00b question about mods -- your combined romance scenes with Alistair mod -- are there any plans to have dwarf romance scenes or is it just elf/human? I am ONLY asking, not pressuring/requesting/whatever. I just want to know if this is one of those things I need to keep an eye on or not or if I should just focus on the dialogue fixes only. Getting all the mods ready for my next dwarf romance with Alistair, that's all. Np either way.

For whoever was asking about Sophia Dryden, I just talked to Levi and he does say "Great-great-grandmother."

Sadly, I don't make the scenes. TMP did, and I will include BSC soon. The replayable vanilla scene will work for dwarves (Let's go to sleep) as far as the other scenes, I don't know how that would work. If someone makes some dwarf scenes, I would happily add them to my mod. But I can't do jack with the cutscene editor. Sorry! I feel you and if I could I would gladly make some dwarf scenes, if I could.

No sweat! Some modders have a hard time trying to do anything with dwarves, actually. It's not a big deal. On some of the mods on Nexus, I appreciate it when they flat out say in their description that they have no intention of doing dwarf scenes (they usually have a good reason for it) so I don't waste my time checking back later to see if there's anything new. The modder that did "Last Night With Morrigan" just specifically said he wasn't doing dwarf sex with Morrigan (and he prefers to play dwarf origins himself) because of clipping issues. BSC doesn't include dwarves either, but at least she spelled that out right upfront. ;)

Yes, but pretty sure he's just shortening all the greats.  She did die 200 years ago.  Even if we're very generous and Levi decends from late born children, it is very hard to make 200 years in 4 generations.  You would have to be having the kids around 50, and that seems unreasonable.  Let's go with a reasonable 25-30 years per generation and you're at 7-8 generations.  So I'd say she's his "great-grandmother" to the fourth or fifth degree.

BSC doesn't even have a remake of the vanilla scene for dwarves?

Hey guy's I need help with the Grey Warden runic armor. I know in another game the damn thing showed up but in my new game I can't get it to show. I did make the mistake of starting a new game with the armor active but I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but still nothing. When I open my inventory though it says I recieved new equipement but it's not showing up. Frustrated here lol.

*nods*  And I think as long as something is logical then it's okay even if it's not specifically mentioned.  Like, I'd say it's fair that Alistair might be slightly more familiar with who the ruling noble families are than most peasants, simply because of Eamon's influence.  But I draw the line at childhood Alistair and HNF meeting/playing together/being friends.  I don't think that is something he would forget.  Not to say I don't even enjoy fic with that in it, but it really kind of breaks it for me a little.

Edit:  Not nearly enough NBA for my tastes.  I gotta get some more screencaps of him.
