I haven't experienced the same level of crashing as some others, but my game did crash once recently after casting Mana Clash.
Mana Clash is terrible after 1.03. Crashes my game roughly 30% of the time I cast it. Nothing else comes close in bug percentage

Has anyone ever had an origin "ruined" for them by one of their characters? Not in a bad way, but in the way that you don't really want to play another character from that Origin since you liked a playthrough so much. I was gonna start another Dalish but I ended up scrapping her because it would pretty much be the exact same run as the one I just finished.
I think my human noble is always going to end up the same, no matter what I try. I've played almost the same char three times now.

Well the "gaming laptop" is kind of an oxymoron given the mobile version of the gfx cards typically get their functionality stripped in some manner, compared to desktop versionsLady Jess wrote...
Nope, I can confidently say it is not my computer. I am running a full out gaming laptop with dual nVidia 260M graphic cards, 1gb each.
Checking quickly, current version of nvidia drivers for that gfx card is 197.16... is this the one you're running?

Hey, if it is possible, what do you guys think of me just replaceing the "Let's go to sleep" vanilla scene with BSC mild, but leaving vanilla to play the first time? I could do that.
Tht ok for humans but I hate it for elves. the positioning is all off, and I end up appearing to come out of his armpit...lol

I'm not sure I can play an HNF again. Eren Cousland is my canon HNF, pretty much. If I ever replay HNF again, it will probably be just a retooling of her game.yukidama wrote...

Hm. My PC is pretty new and able to handle any game I've tried on it on the highest graphic settings but I just got a Mana Clash crash for the second time right now. Maybe it's affected by the patch AND your computer?

So just remove BSC for elves, then? Let the vanilla play for elves, then?Lady Jess wrote...

197.16 yep. I'm pretty sure Alienware does gaming a bit better than oxymoron level. I can play any other game on this thing, even WoW at max graphics settings in a 25 man raid with zero lag.
8 pages of people crashing here
Bioware admitting theres a problem worth looking into here
It's definitely a game issue, Bioware knows it too.

Yep, Lenya. Honestly, I can't play another Dalish elf than her. I simply can't, because she is canon for me. Another Dalish elf would just feel wrong to me.

I just finished a mage play through in Origins and I didn't feel the emotional attachment to the npcs that I did as a HNF. I think playing through as HNF and having that attachment to Howe makes a difference. Maybe I'm just weird. I don't know.

Well, it doesn't really matter if it's Alienware or another manufacturer, they cannot improve the card beyond what the original producer makes itLady Jess wrote...

In any case, that 8 pages thread has people on last page mention that upgrading their drivers to 197.45 helped them with the crashes. These aren't available yet for the notebook version but hopefully will help when they get ported?

That's my complaint about the mage origin, as well. Fun gameplay, but story-wise it's a little flat.Serissia wrote...

I agree. I like playing as a mage but I didn't particularly care about any of the NPCs. It's why I had to make a Dalish character in the first place, so I could reasonably play as a mage and it wouldn't break the crap out of the lore. Then again with that mod I could have played a dwarf mage too >.> Lol

I can play any other game on this thing, even WoW at max graphics settings in a 25 man raid with zero lag.(i mean in the sense of adding back removed functionality, not things like speeding it up and whatnot) Being able to run WoW isn't exactly sign of anything given WoW was originally written to run on cards like the original geforce and geforce 2, released literally 10 years ago. It's not really taxing technically.
In any case, that 8 pages thread has people on last page mention that upgrading their drivers to 197.45 helped them with the crashes. These aren't available yet for the notebook version but hopefully will help when they get ported?
lol it may have been made to, but let me tell you on my old desktop it was a lagfest in a 10 man raid at high settings, battlegrounds were impossible. When I got this system it was a whole new game. The only way WoW was "made" to work on older cards is the ability to reduce the visual settings to match. If you tried max graphics on my old desktop you were dead in the water. Brilliantly I decided to replace the videocard, it all went well until I realized what a friggin nightmare ATI was, just to update drivers. But then my PSU started to go, and the computer would up and say "nope, I'm turning off now" while I was playing anything.
So, I finally caved and invested in a gaming computer. A laptop, because noway in hell was I letting the movers touch my system every 2 years...no no nooooooooo...lol

I agree to some dgree. I felt very forced in having to take sides for or against Jowan, when my instinct was to not get involved. But I love the general feel of the tower. The claustrophobic feel of being caged surrounded by Templars and the threat of becoming a Tranquil. Maybe they should have made even more of it, like talk to people before the Harrowing, and worry a bit more before it began.

That's exactly how I felt. I don't know if it's just because I hate the origin or the fact that any personal question the HM gets asked seems to contridict previous questions asked.
