But I can't find the rp to make my Dalish his mistress. I get as far as "well I lost love once I'm not doing it again, clan, reputation, and politics be damned" but I'm not sold on it. Then again, I haven't had the shriek attack yet, and I know there's something specific to Dalish in there. Something that was said to me in the Dalish camp might help. That my father was encouraging the Dalish to get more involved with human society, being chancellor would be a step towards that I suppose.

I played my DEF as being decently poised in the political realm. She was more comfortable being kingmaker than my CEF, for instance. I based this off the idea that the Dalish keepers were the nobility of Arlathan, and they still maintain this kind of pride and dignity. Kind of like exiled princes. So after a fashion, my DEF was much like Alistair- a princess without a kingdom who had grown up in the rough but was coming into her own.Lady Jess wrote...

OK guys, I need to make a more detailed list of the things my mod fixes with Alistair, because people are overlooking it because they don 't realize the fixes. Maybe I should change the name too, any suggestions?
I suck at naming things. Took me over a week to name the horse in my fic. Maybe "Alistair Dialog and Romance fix"?

Yeah, that actually makes sense. I should be thinking about it as being Chancellor more than the mistress implication. Lyra would be in a good position to help not just her clan, but all the Dalish clans of Ferelden. Also, I'm not convinced the Dalish have strict beliefs about sex and marriage. Cammen says "bond with" Gheyna. It seems like they just form monogomous partnerships in that regard. Which Lyra and Alistair already have on the road, so why should it change.
Celeste on the other hand I think can let him end it, she's the type thats taken quite enough of not being accepted. She wasn't accepted at the tower by the other apprentices because they were jealous of her talents, she gets crap from every town and village because she's a mage, even though she's helping them, Alistair not accepting it because of duty is just too much. Zevran will always accept her no matter what.
Hy thanks! my head feels clearer now!

OMG that is why I agree with sylvanearie about the bong water. Some of the mistakes in the dialogue are horrendous. I was working on this for hours last night. It's like they figured that everyone would make Alistair king.shedevil3001 wrote...
i can't wait to see it cmessaz i'm glad you're working on an alistair fix he's my fave dao companion, it's so annoying when you play a game that is buggy and the devs don't make patches to fix major bugs

Yes, why should a Dalish elf care whether or not the Chantry recognizes her relationship to her mate? OTOH, you can't discount how hard a proud woman will take being whispered about as the king's elven wh*re. It is part of the cost that my DEF counts, however. She came to consider the Grey Wardens her clan, and thus basically her clan is... Alistair. She was not going to give him up, even if she's willing to share him for the greater good.Lady Jess wrote...

Oh I agree. But as others in this thread will tell you, I hate the mistress idea. I have honestly only completed the game with 2 elves, one dalish who romanced Zevran, and a CE where Alistair did the US. I had one mage who was his mistress, because I RPed her different. But most of the time I go with GW Alistair or marry him as a HNF. I hate putting the Ice Queen on the throne, but oh well.shedevil3001 wrote...
me too as alistair makes the better ruler imho plus hn is my ultimate fave origin the plot is better the family is more gripping and loveable and then theres tim curry voicing howe, awesome

My girl is just cocky enough to believe the whispers nothing more than jealousy. The jealousy of nobility that will never see their ugly daughters wed to the king (because I'm sorry, I do not see a hardened Alistair marrying for duty, when he's in love), and the bitterness of commoners that can't tolerate an elf in a position of power. Besides, she's quite good with a bow...a few mysterios arrows to the backside never hurt anyone *looks innocent* they sometimes get loose during training.:innocent:

i let loghain live twice purely to see the storyline but omg i felt like crying for poor alistair, he just doesnt deserve to be betrayed by our warden when he's been so loyal to us all the way through "cringes at the thought of betrayal" nope i leave the betrayal thing to loghain, after all hes a master at it "off with his head"

What I find funny: Alistair lovers don't mind Zevran. He isn't their favorite, but they like him. Zevran lovers tend to HATE Alistair, I just don't get it.shedevil3001 wrote...
