The Alistair hate confuses me, it's beyond my understanding how one can't stand him *meep* Or call him whiny. Because clearly he is not...unlike the player who are complaining about him, that's it. I think D.Gaider called it the 'me, me, what about ME'- attention once.

The fangirl image, lol. Funny. They act as if we were as crazy as twilightmoms () and totally childish, whereas their fan being is so mature and sensible. Bullcrap. It's all the same. It's all about having fun and enjoying it. As simple as it is. All the dislike and X is better than Y, is immature and pisses me off.

And I hate people looking down on another for something. Not only in the interwebs.

What I find funny: Alistair lovers don't mind Zevran. He isn't their favorite, but they like him. Zevran lovers tend to HATE Alistair, I just don't get it.

Not universally true, but does seem to be a trend.

I'm just puzzled about the rumors of wacked-out, insane Alistair fangirls I keep hearing.  The legends about Alistair fangirls are so juicy, I keep waiting to encounter these freaky-deak women, but thus far you all are disappointingly normal.

No, it just varies by boards based on the existing social structure. Some of the hate can come from Alistair breaking their hearts on their first game, some of the hate can come from being alienated by other fan(s).  Dislike of other posters can color your dislike of the in-game characters that they affliate themselves with. The Tali threads are a good example of this.

So, here is the most recent developments. I was unable to make an additional conversation tree work in-game. So all the lines are still after "I want to discuss something personal". The only issue this will cause is some of the lines won't be there until you tell him "I really enjoy your company" or "Where do you see this going between us" Which is ok to me. They will not show up until after your "first night". There are now kisses before every cutscene for elves and humans. I think I will do 2 versions. Both will have BSC mild as a replayable for both elf and human. One will have BSC medium play for the first night and the other vanilla for the first night. Zesty just isn't gonna happen, sorry. I also am unable to get "medium" to be replayable. But again that sort of makes the "first time" special. Vanilla is once again replayable under "Let's go to sleep." I have fixed a nasty bug thanks to ejoslin which causes the game to cease on Fort Drakon. (Testing that now) I have also added more "Last kiss" options on top of Fort Drakon. (testing that as well.)

Note:The additional kisses and replayable vanilla are available for all races.

I do actually like Alistair, both as my Brosca's salroka and my Aeducan's ONE TRUE LOVE. So yeah, I do love the 'stair, even Alicorn flavoured

Then again I also intensively enjoyed the Kaidan/FemShep romance and can totally feel for him on Horizon in ME 2 and understand his reasons. Many can't...

Honestly, I think Zevran can'be sleazy, if you let him be sleazy.  Or he can be quite sweet, if you hold him off and don't fall immediately for his seductions.  It's a matter of how you RP things with him.  In any case, you don't have to sleep with him in order to get him to fall in love with you, though it certainly is the easiest way to up his approval, at least in my experience.

I think the Zevran romance can be very sweet, it's just that Alistair's got me so wrapped around his fingers that I can't not romance him long enough to go through with it all the way.  :-P  It's why I had to make characters that Alistair doesn't like in order to even try it - my perfectly practical casteless, for instance, who just isn't to his taste.  I can only hope she's appealing to Zevran, and that she doesn't shoot him straight down when I get her that far!

This is true. I hate Couslands for similar reasons. The pixel ones, not the posters!

The tiny fangirl in me is going WHHHYYYY do all the Couslands have the awesome kisses with Alistairs and WHHHHHY do all the dwarves have awesome kisses with Zevran? Why can't we smash the two together and salvage an awesome dwarf kiss with Alistair?! I can stand on Zevran to pull it off, np!

I have to admit, we HAVE had Alistair fan hate in the Zevran thread -- not the good spirited teasing type we try to bring here (Alicorn, weird threesomes, the same things we find funny when Zevran is in them), but downright nasty comments -- both against Zevran (heh, that's no big deal, Zevran is a fictional character who certainly doesn't mind) and about people who would actually enjoy the romance.  We deal with them just like we deal with any other troll -- laugh at them until they leave -- but that's part of what shapes our views.  Some of the comments are downright nasty.

That said, I don't hate Alistair.  I think his romance is beautifully written, heartbreaking, and brings out all sorts of feelings, both good and bad.  It reminds me of the magic of first love.  It's an amazing story.

But I do get irritated when people say Zevran is sleazy, when they think they finished the romance because they got the earring but never ACTUALLY finished it and make all sorts of statements about how shallow it is, etc.  I understand why someone wouldn't like the romance, really; it's gritty, and it can (not necessarily DOES, mind you, as the dialogs support many different things here) start very much seeming to be a FWB situation.  But Zevran isn't sleazy.  He's as faithful as any of the other romance partners once in a relationship.  But you also can't expect a wh*rehouse boy who was trained to use sex as a way to get his marks alone to have the same approach to a relationship as a templar.

But with both, they fall in love completely.  Neither romance is shallow, and many very unfair assumptions are made about Zevran's romance based on the fact that he is fighting falling in love the entire time.  It doesn't help that his dialog was completely bugged at the end either.

I've heard so much about bad princess Cousland fanfic It's got my totally blocked on my own. It started out as fun, but now there's this pressure to not be too this, or too that, or do what everyone else does, ugh. I was hoping to be done before my hubby got home, but that's like...late next month.

OTOH, many of us around here are partial to the Alistair-elf pairing.  Nice snuggle. 

I'm morbidly curious about this Cousland dreck everyone talks about, but I think I'll just pass.

yeah i have it installed, i did try to romance zevran, but some of the things he says just makes me cringe, i guess it's just me and the way i see a romance is supposed to be
