Randomly, wouldn't a Dalish be perfectly fine wearing the sword of mercy symbol? It was Andraste that fought FOR the elves right? Once can revere Andraste, but not the chantry, while keeping with their gods?

Shriek-Tamlen totally shocked me the first time. Huge, huge OMG moment and great emotional impact. Lenya totally needed snuggles after this. Fortunately Alistair was happy to oblige and comforted her while she cried.
Yay for all the Dalish love, btw.

Possible, yes. The reason why Lenya didn't destroy the ashes. She respected that woman for fighting alongside the elves instead against them.

The elf spirit in the riddle part got to me too. I mean here she is, in human culture, working to save this human noble, falling for a human...and just not understanding any of it, yet the Prophetess they all revere...fought beside her ancestors. It's a common thread. She just doesn't buy into the Chantry version. So no strange sun looking icons for her. A sword of mercy however...that she can get behind.
Edit: that is if I can ever get the item set to appear in Bodahns shop...grrrrrr:huh:

I think we go through phases. Right now we're on our Dalish phase, I think before we were on our elf mage phase. Or in my case kill two birds with one stone and mod a Dalish mage xD Elves are popular lately.
Ha, I actually just started a city elf. I've never played through as a non-mage elf, so it is long overdue.

oh yeah looking for some good Alistair fanfics to place on my kindle anyone got any good choices
also looking for some decent AU fanfics involving an origin not beoming a warden...
Sadly, only AMWT has an up-to-date pdf version for kindle.
I assure you all of the fics I've listed have a decent (or promising) storyline, Alistair is at least roughly in character and they don't violate the lore without good reason. Most of them are a bit AU, three of them are really AU.
Edit: Oh, but be careful. I have a soft spot for the darker stuff.
Edit 2: Because you asked for it specifically, "Two roads diverged" is the only non-Warden Cousland fic that I really like but the author is very busy and updates are rare. Miri's "Caged" (again non-Warden Queen Cousland) might be something for you but it's not my cup of tea.
Can you say nerd?
Edit 3: Maybe it would be time to test the water for a plot nug from my own brain and see if someone screams WRITE IT. Could be a motivation.
I have a little dark King Alistair/Queen Cousland fic in my brain that is almost completely outlined. Zevran and a non-Warden male Amell will play a role. It's a crime story as one of the arls of the kingdom is killed and Zevran is accused of being the murderer and awaiting execution. The question is: Who was the killer? Will he be found in time? And what if not? Amell will be the investigator.

It made me think that, if things had been different, she and Tamlen might have been bonded by then.

Yep. I didn't even know that my last post had registered (otherwise I would have been in a full on panic because there was a post out there that might need editing and, oh Maker, I couldn't get to it to check).

Yup. Like the "known issues" part of the project details says, "this module won't be compatible with any other module which affects main dialogue for Alistair."cmessaz wrote...
Hey, I just dumped him with your character and the "private" dialogue isn't coming up. So I think there must be a conflict somewhere in either the add-ins or the override folder.shedevil3001 wrote...
will find the link for the mod i get what you meant now lol
heres the link

Thats the problem, that alters the main dialogue like mine does. They will not work together.
The .erf files are DA archives btw, kind of like .zip files except they can be open with Toolset rather than external tool.

He actually does, it's more of the elf's doing though -- once she gets arm around his neck about half way in she gets support to pull herself up, so she climbs him a littleAddai67 wrote...
It's probably just my bias or the camera angle, but he seems to snuggle up more with elves.

Yay for Alistair/Dalish love!!!! I haaaaate the Tamlen scene...well, hate and love it. It killed me the first time through as well - so unexpected and powerful. It's part of the reason the DEF is still my favorite playthrough of all time.

I've been in many a battle with Alistair. But never, did he rush to my side like THAT. He just swooped in with a shield bash. Want a "hold me" dialog.

I've posted this elsewhere and here I think (I'm like the old lady repeating the same stories), but I had in mind that my DEF would have come to him afterward and asked him to help her do what she had described to him long ago in Lothering, when he asked about Dalish burial practices.Lady Jess wrote...
Yeah I admit it. I cried. Alistair just won the girl, he was so incredibly sweet after that.
Yep I admit it, too, I cried like a baby. I think it's the most emotional I've been in the game, and that says a lot in this game.
My current elf mage is an Andrastian and wearing Pious. She is more of a city elf, however, and they do acknowledge the Maker etc. Thane Shartan fought with Andraste. For a Dalish it would probably be more of a stretch to wear a Chantry symbol, however, because of the subsequent history. You would have been nursed on tales of the Chantry starting a religious war against the Dales. But it could make for an interesting twist if you can find an RP reason why she would do so.Randomly, wouldn't a Dalish be perfectly fine wearing the sword of mercy symbol? It was Andraste that fought FOR the elves right? Once can revere Andraste, but not the chantry, while keeping with their gods?
My Andrastian mage- she and Morrigan have a tense relationship. (despite having similar taste in hair)

LOL I'm still playing my mage character. I was a little off on the whole groupthink I guess, since I was playing a DEF before that. But I hate to tell you, my plan is to play another DEF after Fiona 2.0. I'm on an elven thing and not in the mood to do CEF.SurelyForth wrote...

Just 'cause of that, I'm gonna change his tactics slot . Alistair: hero being attacked by melee --> shield bash...

Noooooo! I'll probably still be with my Amell at that point. I do have a CEF waiting patiently at Ostagar, but she's probably going to end up with Leliana and nobody here wants to hear about that.
ETA: No Alistair post gets peeved Alistair picture.
