My DEF was also respectful of such things. And like, for instance, with Brother Burkel, she first turned him down but then changed her mind, having been impressed about what he said about the dwarves not even having the chance to hear a different way. If you're going to fault the Chantry for religious bigotry, it's a little hypocritical to show it yourself.Merilsell wrote...
Possible, yes. The reason why Lenya didn't destroy the ashes. She respected that woman for fighting alongside the elves instead against them.

You and yukidama need to learn that posting angry/annoyed Alistair pics is actually an incentive to bad behavior. LOLSurelyForth wrote...

LOL I'm still playing my mage character. I was a little off on the whole groupthink I guess, since I was playing a DEF before that. But I hate to tell you, my plan is to play another DEF after Fiona 2.0. I'm on an elven thing and not in the mood to do CEF.
Noooooo! I'll probably still be with my Amell at that point. I do have a CEF waiting patiently at Ostagar, but she's probably going to end up with Leliana and nobody here wants to hear about that.
ETA: No Alistair post gets peeved Alistair picture.
But if it makes you feel any better, I'm thinking of doing a Dalish mage. I might like to try a shapeshifter for once.

I've posted this elsewhere and here I think (I'm like the old lady repeating the same stories), but I had in mind that my DEF would have come to him afterward and asked him to help her do what she had described to him long ago in Lothering, when he asked about Dalish burial practices
I wish there had been some sort of game mechanic for that...I felt bad just leaving his body lying there.

You just have to fill in that you and Alistair at least found a young sapling to bury him under, even if you probably couldn't plant a tree for him.
I also picture my character singing the funeral song and it makes me

As much as I love the sapling idea (and I really, really do) I think they would have to burn him, because he was tainted. And having to go to a Ferelden custom instead of giving him a Dalish burial makes me

I don't know how this squares with the lore, but I had it figured that my DEF had an agnostic acceptance of the Maker as possibly another sort of old god similar to the elven gods, even if not acknowledged by the elves. She was willing to consider that maybe there was a middle ground between the humans' belief "he's the only god" and the Dalish saying "he's not a god at all." She was very receptive to the DR, as you can imagine, at least in theory. Obviously it was still very hard to ask Alistair to make the theory into a reality, but Morrigan's argument that an old god was worth preserving zings a Dalish Warden pretty good.Sandtigress wrote...
I'm about to explore the whole Andraste/Chantry bit just a little with my Dalish in my (very very very slowly progressing) fic. I played her as respectful but a non-believer - she holds to her Dalish roots but gives respect since she wants others to show it to her beliefs. I think the whole Ashes experience would have a big impact though - it seems obvious that the Ashes themselves do have power, so does it mean that the Maker is real, and thus the Creators not? Or could it be Andraste herself that had the power, apart from the rest of the Chantry's beliefs? And is there a way she can reconcile her peoples' beliefs with that, or does it mean having to choose one or the other?
Ahhhh, Ithe Dalish, I really do. I always find some new perspective to think about with them!

I hadn't thought of that. I'll have to adjust my idea to picture that my Warden suggests the sapling to Alistair and he has to gently tell her that the body needs to be burned. Gah, you're right, that is even moreSandtigress wrote...

In my mind, they'll burn him because of the taint. BUT she'll save some of the ashes and when it's over she'll bury those, and plant a tree for him.

I'm going with still not buying into the Chantry/Maker deal but respecting and even fitting Andraste into her beliefs. Hence why she'll wear the flaming sword on her armor but not a chantry symbol. From the Leliana Armor Set tho, not the pious, which by the way looks good on her too. But I can't wear that sun thing on her.

A fade to black during the kiss and then your PC sort of stumbles afterwards.

Yay, thanks! Hopefully it will get bumped up in the next few days on the Community Creations forum when I add the next section, or I could give you the ff.net link if you'd like. I swear I'm getting the next part done soon...Writer's block + work + thesis is not good for creative writing on the side....

Here you go then. We're moving along, ever so slowly! They say sometimes taking breaks helps with the creative process, but I dunno. I think my breaks just become permanent, and there are things I want to write in this story, so I just keep pushing it along a few lines at a time.
Even replaying her didn't help much. I thought it would. And theres the almost visible pressure to not write "typical crappy Cousland". So I'm trying to not be overly angsty, yet not too puppies and rainbows, i think my Dalish would be easier but I don't want to start one while I haven't finished the first.

Not that I've read much in the way of fic, and most of that from friends who are really great story tellers, but from what I've seen of yours you're not traveling down "typical crappy Cousland". I think most of those earn that name because they're blatant Mary Sue Miss Perfects, with not a flaw to their name. Of course, the Warden in general runs the risk of that anyways since we're almighty hero to save the day, but it seems to me Kasha has her flaws.
Don't agonize over it too much. There's caution and then there's being so paralyzed by it that you can't write the story you want to tell. Just go for it!

You only need two files named "398596_fade_in_after_kissin" for the swooping thing. So easiest way to get it would be to download the mild scenes but don't install it, just extract these two files to the override directory. This should keep what you have already installed intact.klarabella wrote...
