Y'know, I've not been swayed by the appeal of Anders as much as some of the ladies have, but that picture of him and that cat is his finest feature and makes me go awwww. There is something to be said about a man that has that kind of compassion for animals.

This is one of the first pieces of Alistair/Dragon Age fan art I saw after starting the game, and still one of my favorites:

Sheesh, SurelyForth....Anders playing with Ser Pounce-a-lot AND blushing Alistair? It doesn't get much better than that...

Ack, ack, picture!  Someone put up a picture for me!

Well, I really should hold out for a SurelyForth NBA shot, but in the meantime here is a bit of last night's squee.  I think of this now as the "smirky kiss."

Wow, you are my hero. And I promise that I will be more alert today as well, I am leaving the mod alone for a while. I had my fill yesterday for a few days anyway.

As for the mistress vs marriage... we have to remember the times.. Usually in noble families marriages are arranged. So you marry someone you don't love, may never love but, hopefully come to respect. It was common for the male to have mistresses - usually the wife was thankful not having to perform her duty to the husband all that ofter except to produce an offspring. The wife was allowed dalliances if she was discreet. So with Alistair. mistress or wife... I'll take him anyway I can have him!

I like the way Anders talks to his kitty - it reminds me of the time Leliana caught Sten with the kitten

Just depends on how you RP. My belief with most of my chars is that I am the "hero of Ferelden" and I would not be content as the kings "side dish". But again, personal preference.

Yes I can see your point..  today I do agree, it's never easy being the other woman and you are THE OTHER WOMAN neverTHE WOMAN.

oops on that note, back to work..  talk with ya later.

Or something lol. Yeah, I get everyone's PoV, and they are entitled to it. But such is life! I still think the whole "create an heir" thing is silly since it seems not likely to happen anyway.

I need to get on more Alistair with yukidama's morph weilding Soul Caliber final form screenshots.

That is very true! I remember being taught about that in medieval history. And frequently the mistresses were well respected, and held a place of...envy. Women would vie to be the kings mistress even, and were often treated better than the arranged wife.

I know. Alistair looks WAY sexy weilding it, even though it's a little large...there is something amusing about a little elf wielding a huge sword.

I don't think being anyone's mistress reduces you to some nookie on the side. You're the hero of Ferelden who also has the eye of the most powerful man in Ferelden. I don't think Anora or Alistair will have heirs whether or not they remarry again. I think Alistair will go to his grave loving the warden and not actually remarrying anyone else. I know this is largely game mechanic, but he treats his wife and mistresses the same in Awakening. I just don't think they're actually going to devote precious game resources to exploring the mistress scenario and trying to set up a situation where Alistair remarries for heir reasons. If the game marches on with origin characters, they'll probably just check the "still in love" flags and proceed from there.

I kind of miss the Runic armor, but I doubt I'll put that much str into him as dual-wielder.  So he'll probably stay in WCA.  When he's not, you know, naked.

And before anyone makes a remark about DW being "girly," let me remind you that Duncan is DW and thus to do so is to come awfully close to blaspheming The Beard.  Posted Image

Gilsa- I think it's just a personal preference, and depends on a persons beliefs. But yes, when I do actually go with the mistress ending, I use that PoV, that it is not likely that Alistair will marry because of his love for the warden.

OK let me rephrase-it doesn't seem to fit him. I did try, just for the record. I just can't do it.
