I think I'll start using that excuse IRL.

QUICK! I need a name for my human female mage. I'm fresh out of ideas.

I found the name Emmeline for a future character in a fic.  You could use that if you'd like. I think it's rather pretty.

Origins is a long game to try out a race you're unsure about. Why not just play a dwarf in Awakening instead? I'm holding off on my next female dwarf game because there are some really nice mods in progress and I'll just biding my time. Plus I want more information on what's coming out in February. If they're moving on from origins and we have to start over with new characters, that's a good time to just play a new dwarf then.

I have to chime in on the mistress discussion and say that I fully expect King Alistair will try to marry and my Warden PCs would try to support him in it. It's too important to try for an heir. Both he and she (my Warden PC) will have seen a vivid example of what can happen when Cailan left no heir.

Because Arl Eamon trying to KO the archdemon is too funny:

One of the smaller joys of this game is when Eamon gets munched to death by the archdemon. I like to have my PCs stand back and just let it happen.

I agree, and I think that my PC might even bow out at that point (depending on the available options). Once an heir is born, Brand Cousland would definitely strike out on her own more, if she doesn't just stay with the Wardens for good (I haven't quite decided if she would or not).

That is pretty! If you don't mind, I think I'll use it. Or a variation of it anyway.

Oh, damn, my Aeducan will be in trouble if the Assembly knows she probably can't produce a heir. They could easily just appoint someone else! Nooo!

Kidnap someone else's kid and pass it off as yours. They don't know what you were doing on the surface.

Use the console to give yourself enough gold to buy the axe in Bodahn's shop during the initial nightmare sequence then another afterwards.  They're a really good set of axes and they look totally badass w/ IA.

I haven't tried the console yet, nor do I have IA, but you tempt me.  Axe-dagger is my favorite rogue setup and I sometimes make my rogues use it even though the axes generally suck.  Axe-axe was going to be my DNF's weapon setup, if I could ever finish a dwarf.

Makes me wonder how much Fereldans know about conception...I mean, could my PC get away with sending him off to the wife just for that week or so around ovulation and keep him to herself the rest of the time?

Go for it! I haven't decided what variation on it (if any) I'm going to use, but you're more than welcome!

I'm sort of curious about their plans myself. So I am going to have every type of save game possible so I'm covered. Mistress/Queen/GW Alistair/US me/US Alistair

LOL This conversation with Alistair is cracking me up right now. I've never spoken to unhardened Alistair before doing the alienage quest.

Alistair: "All right, Alistair, enough whining!" "Thank you, Alistair, that's excellent advice. I'll do my best!"
Warden: I agree with Alistair.
Alistair: About the whining? I know, I know. Someone really needs to slap that one around. Tsk.

I think that's only for a male dwarf noble. I don't really have any particular feelings toward that, but I don't think it's unfair.

Has anyone ever actually asked Jowan why the two of you never got together? I can't bring myself to do it around Lily.

Thanks, then! I just can't do it. Much like I can't kill Isolde or Connor.

Oh... yeah. Duh. I dunno, I guess it depends on your view of things. Yes, he gets to have a kid but then Morrigan takes the kid and disappears. I'd rather not have one in that case :x
