is there much difference with unhardened alistair compared to hardened alistair ? as i haven't ever had him unhardened

I'm not saying he's unhappy in either situation, just that unhardened Alistair doesn't always seem willing to stand up for himself when he should - the Loghain issue being a notable exception - and, if he were a real person, that would eventually leave him feeling pretty put upon. He needs to know that it's OK to put himself first sometimes and I don't think the unhardened version realizes that fact.

I don't look at this the same as others I suppose. I am a person who sort of thinks that hardened Alistair is more of a...*ducks* jerk.

Hardened Alistair makes a better King imo because by the Landsmeet he actually sees it as an opportunity to right some of the injustices that he has seen over the past year.  That's why regardless if the the PC is elven or not he assists the alienage.  That's my take on it anyhow.

Unhardened Alistair never wants/wanted to be King and makes an excellent GW.

Some of hardened Alistair's romance lines are less wishy-washy too. And you can convince him to do...stuff.

I don't think he's a jerk either way though.

This is pretty much how I see it, but to change things up I occasionally leave him unhardened if my PC will marry him.

But GW Alistair is ALWAYS unhardened.

Oh, another random question. Do dwarves receive anything special as boon to the PC? The Dalish can ask for a land for their people (though they get this regardless), the mages can ask for some freedom from the Chantry, the human noble can ask for justice from Howe...I haven't finished a dwarf run through yet.

His dialogue is quite a bit different unhardened. Some in good ways and some in bad.

Any line but the one where you tell him to stand up for himself after his sister.

There is nothing sad about it unless he dumps you or you make him solo king. He actually will say that he loves you unhardened after  Goldanna's house.

What I really need to do that is a mod that makes Anora less... like Anora.
